PM Modi inaugurates machines for cancer diagnosis
1 2 Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated two state-of-the-art linear accelerators (radiation machines), a Mantra robotic surgery unit and a CT scan machine for patients of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital here on Saturday. Inclusion of new machines is expected to significantly improve the speed, accuracy, and quality of treatment. The hospital received the devices recently under CSR. Director of MPMMCC and HBCH, Dr Satyajit Pradhan, said that these advanced medical devices provided through CSR, at a cost of Rs 73.30 crore, will set an inspiring example for cancer treatment in India. "We are grateful to all donors who stood with us in this battle against cancer," he said. The UP govt provided Rs 31.63 crore for one machine, while Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd contributed Rs 26.42 crore under CSR for the other. Mahamana Cancer Centre has become the first hospital in Purvanchal to offer robotic surgery for cancer treatment. For accurate and timely diagnosis of cancer, an additional state-of-the-art 128-slice CT scan machine was installed in the hospital, significantly provided by Kotak Mahindra Bank. The new machine will expedite the examination process and reduce waiting lists. It will directly benefit economically disadvantaged patients. ICICI Foundation partners with IIT Kanpur to build Digital Health Stack
Mumbai, Jul 30 (PTI) ICICI Foundation, the CSR arm of private lender ICICI Bank, on Wednesday said it has partnered with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur to develop a Digital Health Stack that aims to fortify India's public healthcare systems by combining technology, medical research and innovation. To support this initiative, ICICI Foundation has pledged Rs 34 crore to IIT Kanpur, according to a statement. 'Through this project of ICICI Digital Health Stack that we initiated last year, we aim to develop deployable technology for complete evidence-based, implementable, person-focused, and digitally enabled healthcare delivery for all in Uttar Pradesh. '…as part of this initiative, our team developed Real Time Bed Availability and Referral Portal (RT-BARP), which was successfully deployed during the Maha Kumbh 2025, ensuring better preparedness and improved medical accessibility during the event," IIT Kanpur Director Prof Manindra Agarwal said. Jayadeva hospital in Bengaluru gets new cathlab worth ₹7 crore
The State-run Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences in Bengaluru got a new cathlab worth ₹7 crore under a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The new Cathlab, donated by the ICICI Foundation as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, was inaugurated by Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil on May 31. Apart from Jayadeva Director K. S. Ravindranath, several representatives of ICICI Foundation, including Venkatesh B.K., Head of Operations – Pan India, S. Girish, Regional Head – South India, and Tripthi Pradhan, Zonal Head – Health Care Ecosystem, were part of the inaugural event.
