With a production budget of film at Rs. 225 crore and an additional Rs.15 crore spent on prints and advertising, the film's total cost stood at Rs. 240 crore. Through a smart blend of box office performance and non-theatrical revenues, the film has secured profitability. The film had already recovered a substantial Rs.175 crore pre-release through strategic deals, which includes Rs.90 crore from its OTT rights, Rs.55 crore from satellite rights and Rs.30 crore from music rights This left the film with Rs.65 crore to recover from its theatrical run. First looks at Squid Game season 3 and Lena Dunham's Too Much, and special honors for the likes of Lost star Evangeline Lilly and legendary composer Giorgio Moroder will be part of the inaugural Italian Global Series Festival (IGSF), taking place in Riccione and Rimini, June 21-28. During a Sunday event held during the Cannes Film Festival in the French mecca of film, organizers unveiled program highlights, competitive sections, special events and masterclasses, and the seven recipients of the inaugural Maximo Awards for Excellence. In its first year, the IGSF will screen 28 new series in its competitive strands, which will compete for Maximo awards, which organizers hope will become something like an Italian equivalent to the Emmy Awards. Among special presentations, Netflix will showcase Too Much by screening the first two episodes ahead of the show's global launch on July 10. For Squid Game, the fest will host the first episode of the third and final season. Selected episodes from Prime Video's second season of Pesci Piccoli will also screen, introduced by the show's stars. Among more sneak peeks, previews, premieres and retrospectives, as well as fan events, there will be an event dedicated to Fremantle-owned Lux Vide's upcoming pirate adventure series Sandokan, starring Turkish actor Can Yaman. The international competition program is divided into three sections: drama, comedy and limited series. Across each of the sections, the following awards will be bestowed: best series, best leading actor, best leading actress and best creator and/or director. Also part of the proceedings will be masterclasses, such as 'Screenwriting for Television' with screenwriter, director and Emmy-winning producer Mark Gatiss, whose new series Bookish will receive its world premiere at the festival, and a session with creator and screenwriter Steven Moffat (Douglas Is Cancelled, Doctor Who, Sherlock) and his wife and producer Sue Vertue. Said IGSF artistic director Marco Spagnoli: 'Projecting series on the big screen offers a very important cultural and social dimension, appealing not only to fans, but for all those who love seriality and the possibilities offered by these stories. Our mission at IGSF is to enhance the Italian industry in the context of European – gnd Global – collaboration.' Seven Maximo Excellence Awards will be handed out as well. 'Italian recipients include Carlo Verdone and Elena Sofia Ricci; as well as Academy Award-winning composer Giorgio Moroder; Evangeline Lilly, principal cast from the genre-defining series Lost; British actress Adjoa Andoh, best known for her work on smash hit Bridgerton,' organizers said.
