Huge queues pictured at Glasgow Airport after 'issue'
Huge queues were pictured at Glasgow Airport on Friday morning after an issue was discovered at the security area. Images from inside the airport show people queuing in long lines waiting to go through security at around 5.30am. It came after staff at the busy transport hub were said to have found a minor IT issue with the X-ray machines during the early hours of the morning. (Image: Supplied) READ NEXT: A person travelling from the city to Belfast in Northern Ireland told the Glasgow Times they had to wait in the queues. They said: 'It was awful. People were queued right around past the elevator.' It is understood that the issue was quickly resolved within 30 minutes, and service returned to normal.

Santander Cycles down due to software upgrades, says TfL
More than 12,000 Santander Cycles across the capital are out of service due to an IT issue, Transport for London (TfL) has software upgrades had overrun and left users are unable to hire the bikes and e-bikes via the Santander Cycles app or docking stations on Tuesday commuter Aodh Ó Daighre told BBC London he unsuccessfully visited four different stations in an attempt to hire a apologised for the disruption and said they are working to "restore services as soon as possible". Mr Ó Daighre added: "I got to my usual station and tried to release a bike with my fob, which wouldn't work, so I tried to log into the app, which also wasn't working."I walked further onto the next station and also tried to use the screen on the terminal but it said that no bikes were available at the station. "[This was] particularly annoying as all the stations were over 80% full."

No delays expected to flights from Irish airports following ‘IT issue' at Stansted
Stansted Airport in London has advised passengers to check the status of their flights before travelling to the site following an 'IT issue' which caused disruption and delays. The malfunction affected a number of systems at the airport, including check-in, baggage and security, London Stansted said on Sunday morning. Pending flights from Dublin Airport and other Irish airports to Stansted, a Ryanair destination, were not displaying expected delays on Sunday afternoon. Engineers are investigating the source of the problem, which may have been related to the systems' internet access, a spokesperson added. READ MORE In a statement on X, the airport said: 'Our teams are working hard to fully restore operations following the IT issue that impacted our systems earlier this morning. 'While the issue has been resolved, some flights may still be subject to delays. 'We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and advise passengers to check the status of their flights with their airlines before travelling to the airport. 'We hope to have all systems fully resolved soon and will provide another update shortly.' Around 15,000 departing passengers transit through Stansted on a usual Sunday morning, a spokesperson for the airport said. 'All systems have now been fully restored and no flights have been cancelled as a result of the IT issue,' the spokesperson added. 'We are investigating the cause of the earlier issue so nothing confirmed at this stage but, for background, it looks like it was related to internet access for some systems.' – PA
