Bantamweight Elijah Smith pulled off the KO win after lifting his opponent into the air and dropping him on his head before finishing the contest with two heavy punches while Kazama was already clearly unconscious. In a blockbuster card, Anthony Hernandez also called for a title fight after choking out Roman Dolidze in the main event.

Iasmin Lucindo prioritizing improvement of MMA game over picking next UFC opponent
Iasmin Lucindo just wants to keep getting better. LAS VEGAS – Iasmin Lucindo has no interest in matchmaking. She just wants to get better. Lucindo (18-6 MMA, 5-2 UFC) picked up a dominant, unanimous decision win over former Invicta FC champion Angela Hill (18-15 MMA, 13-15 UFC) on the UFC on ESPN 72 main card Saturday at the UFC Apex. Many would see a main card spot and a win over a notable veteran as the perfect opportunity to make a callout for a high-profile name, but not Lucindo. "As soon as I get back home, I'm going to get back working because this is the main thing I have to work on, is just to keep improving, and I know I have the time," Lucindo said at the UFC on ESPN 72 post-fight press conference. "Every fight that you see me, you're going to see a more improved version of myself. And about opponent? I don't have any preference. As long as I'm moving forward, I'm happy. I'll fight whoever the UFC wants, and whoever they want, I'm just going to take my time and keep improving." At 23, Lucindo is one of the youngest fighters on the UFC roster. She's 5-1 in her past six UFC outings, with the only loss coming to former title challenger Amanda Lemos. The addition of Hill to her resume was a solid one for an already impressive run in the UFC. "(She was) probably one of the most experienced opponents I've ever had," Lucindo said. "I did fight some experienced people here in the UFC, but I think Angela might be the most experienced one. Overall, I'm just really happy that I was able to show my work. I showed I have great striking, great grappling, and that I was able to get the takedowns whenever I wanted. I think it's a lot about that – just being able to put my work out there and show the organization what I'm capable of. This is of course all part of the work of my team and my support system, so I'm thankful for them."

Her reaction earned her plenty of plaudits online, with one fan writing: "She was dope for doing that, scored points with me on personality." Hill was unable to put up a victory for her newfound fans as she ultimately fell to a unanimous decision defeat to Lucindo on Saturday evening. The loss means that Hill now has an 18-15-0 record. Opponent Lucindo, 23, had labelled the fight as "crazy" beforehand, claiming Hill was almost as old as her mother. She said: "It is crazy. I won't lie to you, it is very crazy. It's something that makes me go like, 'My God, she's almost my mother's age.' My mother is 43. UFC fighter Angela Hill was left with her head in her hands after a clumsy official dropped her bra inserts while she weighed in for her fight. Hill stepped on the scales on the eve of her strawweight fight against Iasmin Lucindo in Nevada, due to take place on Saturday night. Before she did so, Hill was seen removing the inserts from inside her bra. Once she'd taken them out, Hill handed them to a male official who was presiding over the weigh in. He tried to place them down but couldn't find anywhere suitable, before opting to put them on the podium surrounding the scales. But one fell off and dropped to the floor while the other just about managed to stay put. The awkward scene left Hilly clutching her head with her hands, while the official scrambled to collect the fallen insert. Hill burst out laughing eventually and fans took to social media to praise her for her response to the awkward encounter. One posted: 'She handled that with as much class as could be possible in that situation. I am now a big fan.' A second commented: 'She was dope for doing that, scored points with me on personality.' A third added: 'I love these girls so sweet and kind. In the cage. Savage. End of match back to sweet and kind.'
