Malcolm Denmark group buys another local newspaper
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says it has been formally notified of the proposed acquisition of the Galway-based newspaper by Formpress Publishing, which is part of the Iconic group. The Tribune was first published in May 1909. Two decades later the group produced the Sentinel, which finished publication in 2014, and the Galway City Tribune was added by the group in 1984. Combined weekly circulation is believed to be in excess of 10,000, and its associated website is The wider group also includes the radio station Galway Bay FM. Reports have linked Bauer Media to its possible purchase. Three Galway families – the Allens, Naughtons and Hickeys – own the group, and it was reported last year that they had hired IBI Corporate Finance to find a buyer for its assets. The financial details of Iconic's purchase of the Connacht Tribune are not known. The valuations of newspapers have fallen precipitously over the last two decades, due to declining print circulations and reduced advertising revenue. Pre-tax profits at Formpress Publishing rose to €1.7m in the year to the end of September 2023, according to the most recent accounts filed. The company employed an average of 142 people during that 12-month reporting period, up by three on the previous year. Formpress owns about 25 local and regional newspaper titles, including the Mayo News, Kilkenny People, Limerick Leader, Derry News, Dundalk Democrat, Leitrim Observer and the Midland Tribune. Last October the competition authority approved the purchase by Formpress of D&D Media, owner of the Inishowen Independent. Such deals also need approval by the minister for media. While there may be some concerns about an over consolidation of local media in the hands of a few players, there will also be official recognition that some regional newspapers will not survive financially unless they become part of bigger stables. In a recent interview with the Sunday Times, Mr Denmark said he was 'passionate about local media' and sees a future in it. 'I am not giving up on it. We are getting a lot of traction and we are impressed by our numbers online,' he said. Confirming his interest in acquiring the Connacht Tribune, he said: 'The team in Galway is a particularly good one. They are the largest selling of the weekly regional papers now in the country and that is down to producing a very, very good paper every week.'

Iconic Provides Corporate Update on New Pass Gold Property and Engagement of Investor Relations
Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - May 20, 2025) - Iconic Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: ICM) (OTC: ICMFF) (FSE: YQG) (the "Company" or "Iconic") announces that it is re-initiating an exploration plan on its New Pass Gold Property (the "New Pass" or "Property"), located in Nye County, Nevada USA. New Pass Gold Property Exploration Plan 2025 Iconic is initiating an exploration program on its New Pass Property (the "Exploration Program") where the primary focus will be infrastructure and drilling, followed by advanced metallurgy. In 2021 an extensive IP survey identified several oxidation zones anomalies located north, south and up dip of the defined mineralized zone, this Exploration Plan will test these anomalies. A total of 38 angled RC holes will be drilled to test extensions up-dip (east) and to the north and south of the current resource where mineralization occurs at the surface. Upon the completion of the drilling and advanced metallurgical program, a new NI 43-101 technical resource report would be generated. The Exploration Program is expected to cost approximately U.S. $1,000,000. New Pass Gold Property Highlights New Pass hosts the Carlin-type New Pass Gold-Silver deposit, with a historical (2010) NI 43-101 Inferred Mineral Resource of 15,515,488 short tons averaging 0.018 oz/ton gold and 0.202 oz/ton silver which totals 279,279 ounces of gold and 3,139,054 ounces of silver. (Noland, P. D., 2010, (NI 43-101 Technical Report and Revised Resource Estimation on the New Pass Property, Churchill County, Nevada, NI 43-101 Technical Report prepared for Bonaventure Enterprises Inc.). Although the report followed CIM standards, the date of the work indicates verification assaying recalculating the resource is needed. The QP has not done sufficient work to make the resource current. A 2021 extensive IP survey identified several oxidation zone anomalies located north, south and up dip of the defined mineralized zone. An exploration plan to test these anomalies is currently being finalized; Mineralization comes to surface with 75% of the deposit estimated to be oxidized, amenable to heap leaching from previous metallurgical test work; Mineralization is open in all directions, providing an excellent opportunity for resource expansion and conversion; Highlight historical drill hole intercepts include: NP-28, 45 m @ 0.080 oz/ton Au NP-88-8, 20 m @ 0.078 oz/ton Au NP-54, 50 m @ 0.047 oz/ton Au The above is from Pelke, P. A., Arentz III, S. S., NI 43-101 Technical Report on the New Pass Property Churchill County, Nevada, April 12, 2006, NI 43-101 Technical Report prepared for Bonaventure Enterprises Inc. and White Knight Resources, p.91. New Pass has an active Plan of Operations, permitting up to 25 acres of exploration-associated allowable disturbance. New Pass is located in Nevada's prolific Sulfur-Lovestock-Austin structural gold trend which is only 75 kilometres south-southwest of the past-producing McCoy-Cove Mine (produced 3.3 Moz Au and over 100 Moz of Ag). is poised to resume production with i-80 Gold Corp. (NI43-101 Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Cove Project, Lander County, Nevada" is dated March 31, 2025). The technical and scientific information disclosed from neighboring properties does not necessarily apply to the current project or property being disclosed. New Pass Geology New Pass is a Carlin style sediment hosted deposit. The gold/silver mineralization follows bedding in south-westerly dipping limestone and rhyolite tuff. The thickest part of the deposit is associated with a 3,000 foot long jasperoid. A total of 277 drill holes were completed between 1982 and 2013. Between 2006 and 2010 three separate historic resource reports were reported with similar results. The most recent is by Noland, P. D., 2010, (NI 43-101 Technical Report and Revised Resource Estimation on the New Pass Property, Churchill County, Nevada, NI 43-101 Technical Report prepared for Bonaventure Enterprises Inc.), Its inferred resource is 341,750 ounces of gold and 3,134,129 ounces of silver. This grade is above cut-off grades of currently operating Nevada heap-leach gold/silver mines. The current leach grade at Round Mountain, Nevada, from the Kinross Gold Corporation May 6, 2025 press release ranged from 0.006 to 0.010 oz/ton gold. In 2021, GOLDNEV conducted an extensive IP survey over the project. The survey emphasized the northern and southern extensions of mineralization. Geophysicist Frank Fritz of Fritz Geophysics (from F. Fritz report titled New Pass Project Dipole-Dipole IP-Resistivity Survey Interpretation, April, 2021) noted that mineralization is associated with an "oxidation boundary," defined as the contact of high resistivity limestone below low resistivity altered limestone, tuff and siltstone. The survey confirms that the known mineralization follows bedding and dips to the southwest. Several oxidation zone anomalies were defined and some are confirmed by past drilling. 'These fake tan wipes gave me a glow that looked like I'd spent a week away'
If you're looking for a sun-kissed glow and skincare benefits, these new fake tan pads from Dr. Dennis Gross do it all, and left me looking like I'd just come back from a tropical holiday If, like me, you hate the faff of fake tanning but still want that 'I just back from holiday glow', these genius new exfoliating pads are about to become your new favourite thing. The Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Glow Pads for Face are pre-soaked tanning pads that make bronzing ridiculously easy. There are no mitts, no mess, and, most importantly, no weird smell. My issue with face tanners in the past has been that they've broken me out, but these handy pads manage to give a natural-looking, streak-free tan while also exfoliating and hydrating my skin. A win-win situation in my eyes. Packed full of skin-loving ingredients, including Alpha Beta® Acids to gently exfoliate (so the colour goes on smooth), vitamin E to lock in moisture, and emblica extract to brighten and boost collagen, they start working their magic pretty fast. Within three to four hours, a natural-looking tan starts to develop. Pros So easy to use No classic fake tan smell Natural-looking bronzed results Travel-friendly Cons Expensive I especially love the fact that these pads have real skin benefits compared to other types of facial tans. And arguably, the biggest bonus for me is that they are travel-friendly. I'm a pretty pale girl who takes a while to catch a natural tan, so I like to have the option of bringing fake tan with me when I head on holiday. Luckily, with these handy pads, I don't need to worry about 100ml hand luggage requirements, and they also won't take up much space in my suitcase. My main criticism comes with the price, as £49 is a pretty steep price to pay. But considering you get 20 pads, and its self tan that's actually beneficial to the skin, I can't complain too much. I'm also a huge fan of Iconic's new Bronzing Elixir. The product is easily buildable, so you can customise your level of bronziness. I love that it applies more sheer, which gives a natural finish. Initially, I was concerned because it appeared very shimmery on my hand, but once applied, it didn't come off glittery at all, instead, it left a beautiful, luminous glow.

Kanye West's rants can't dim Paris Hilton's shine: new fragrance launches
Paris Hilton recently launched her 30th fragrance called 'Iconic'. Image: Instagram Kanye West (aka Ye) is at it again, this time involving Paris Hilton in his latest tirade. It's worth remembering that Hilton played a significant role in launching Kim Kardashian's career, gifting her early exposure to fame and some designer accessories. Before "Keeping Up With the Kardashians", his ex-wife was Paris Hilton's assistant-slash-bestie, following her around in early-2000s paparazzi shots, and learning the ropes of tabloid royalty. Ye seems to be having regrets, not about his music or his never-ending rants, but about his parenting choices. In a moment on a streaming platform called "Digital Nas' Twitch" earlier this week, Ye decided to air some alternate universe fantasies. 'Kim was Paris Hilton's assistant,' he said. 'I should've had babies with Paris Hilton over Kim Kardashian. Could you imagine if I had kids with Paris Hilton? How many hotels I'd have now? Think about that - the Hilton. I think y'all staying at the Hilton right now. The Edition Hotels is a Hilton.' He also compared Kardashian to the late Virgil Abloh, a backhanded compliment if there ever was one. 'Paris Hilton had the vision, and that's what happened,' Ye added. 'Kim was like the Virgil [Abloh]. Kim was like Paris Hilton's Virgil.' Whew. While Ye's out here rewriting the family tree in his head, Hilton is living her real-life fairytale and couldn't be more unbothered. On Wednesday, she took to Instagram Stories to show off her rooftop hangout with sister Nicky Hilton, celebrating her latest milestone. "So proud of my 30th fragrance, Iconic,' she wrote. Hilton's got 30 perfumes under her designer belt. The woman's perfume empire is practically a shelf-breaker. And in true Hilton style, she stepped behind the DJ booth with a bejewelled hairbrush-mic and lip-synced to her surprisingly well-loved 2006 bop, "Stars Are Blind". A hit that critics once raised eyebrows at, but has since aged into a Y2K pop cult classic. As for Ye, well, we've seen this pattern before. He's got four children with Kardashian, and yet somehow can't stop dragging her into his latest rants. At this point, we're just waiting to see who makes it into his next stream-of-consciousness saga. One thing's for sure: Hilton's not interested in being part of Ye's "what if" multiverse. She's too busy being iconic. Shame, he missed that memo.
