Kanye West's rants can't dim Paris Hilton's shine: new fragrance launches

Paris Hilton recently launched her 30th fragrance called 'Iconic'.

Kanye West (aka Ye) is at it again, this time involving Paris Hilton in his latest tirade. It's worth remembering that Hilton played a significant role in launching Kim Kardashian's career, gifting her early exposure to fame and some designer accessories.
Before "Keeping Up With the Kardashians", his ex-wife was Paris Hilton's assistant-slash-bestie, following her around in early-2000s paparazzi shots, and learning the ropes of tabloid royalty.
Ye seems to be having regrets, not about his music or his never-ending rants, but about his parenting choices.
In a moment on a streaming platform called "Digital Nas' Twitch" earlier this week, Ye decided to air some alternate universe fantasies.
'Kim was Paris Hilton's assistant,' he said. 'I should've had babies with Paris Hilton over Kim Kardashian. Could you imagine if I had kids with Paris Hilton? How many hotels I'd have now? Think about that - the Hilton. I think y'all staying at the Hilton right now. The Edition Hotels is a Hilton.'
He also compared Kardashian to the late Virgil Abloh, a backhanded compliment if there ever was one. 'Paris Hilton had the vision, and that's what happened,' Ye added.
'Kim was like the Virgil [Abloh]. Kim was like Paris Hilton's Virgil.' Whew.
While Ye's out here rewriting the family tree in his head, Hilton is living her real-life fairytale and couldn't be more unbothered. On Wednesday, she took to Instagram Stories to show off her rooftop hangout with sister Nicky Hilton, celebrating her latest milestone.
"So proud of my 30th fragrance, Iconic,' she wrote. Hilton's got 30 perfumes under her designer belt. The woman's perfume empire is practically a shelf-breaker.
And in true Hilton style, she stepped behind the DJ booth with a bejewelled hairbrush-mic and lip-synced to her surprisingly well-loved 2006 bop, "Stars Are Blind". A hit that critics once raised eyebrows at, but has since aged into a Y2K pop cult classic.
As for Ye, well, we've seen this pattern before. He's got four children with Kardashian, and yet somehow can't stop dragging her into his latest rants.
At this point, we're just waiting to see who makes it into his next stream-of-consciousness saga. One thing's for sure: Hilton's not interested in being part of Ye's "what if" multiverse. She's too busy being iconic.
Shame, he missed that memo.

Advertisement Next Stay Close ✕ Ad loading Amidst the chaos, Mahikeng Municipality's executive mayor, Councillor Tshepiso Mphehlo, took the podium and delivered a moving tribute on Chweneyagae's legacy. He referred to Chweneyagae as one of Mahikeng's most "outstanding sons", recalling how Chweneyagae's rise to fame following his Oscar win for 'Tsotsi' in 2006 instilled hope in many young people in the area. "Like many of us here, I came to know Presley when he rose to stardom in 2006 after winning the Oscar for 'Totsi'. When it was released, there was so much talk and controversy around the movie, at least for the reason that there were two versions of how the movie ends: Does Tsotsi end up getting shot and killed by the police, or does he get arrested? "So many of us watched the movie to see how it ends. "It was during this time that we, as youngsters growing up in Mahikeng, had hoped for a better life because our dusty streets produced an international movie star ... That period was the pinnacle for the arts and culture in Mahikeng," said Mphehlo. He continued: "We are gathered here to bid farewell to a torch bearer of hope. Through the decades, we have seen him illuminate our television screens with his talent. All of the country is mourning Cobrizi ... "Every one of us has lost a great deal one way or another with his passing. For us in Mahikeng, he's our son. He stands out as an inspiration adored amongst us." He also took the opportunity to say that they are going to make Mahikeng "massive again". South African actor and poet Israel Matseke-Zulu, best known for his roles in "Gaz'lam", "Gomora" and "Tsotsi", offered a song followed by a poignant speech. "Thanks for the opportunity to be recognised as one of the friends of Presley Chweneyagae. We've done everything with him ... He proved that where you come from doesn't determine your destination. "You can come from the west and become the greatest. No one can replace him, but we can follow in his legacy. There is so much talent here, but it needs to be nurtured and promoted. To be in Hollywood is not to be in heaven. "Yes, we won the Oscar, but it doesn't make you a millionaire. Unfortunately, our country is not like America. Let's make the situation better. Let's recognise each other while we are still alive. Let's change rules, let's change the game," he ended.
