NEW DELHI: Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) on Tuesday refuted reports circulating on social media regarding alleged irregularities in its products, calling them "misleading propaganda.
"
In a press statement released after recent raids on certain fertiliser units in Kishangarh, Rajasthan, IFFCO clarified that none of its fertiliser products were found at the raided locations. It urged farmers and stakeholders to continue trusting its products and not be swayed by false narratives.
IFFCO acknowledged that 'Sagarika Granule', a biostimulant produced by its joint venture Aquagri, was found at some sites during the raids.
The cooperative stressed that the product is widely used and appreciated by farmers across the country, and that there is no irregularity in its production.
'Sagarika Granule is made using technology developed by the CSIR-CSMCRI, a central government research institute, and fully adheres to Government of India guidelines,' IFFCO said, adding that raw materials such as dolomite, gypsum, seaweed powder, and bentonite found at the sites are part of the product's granulation process and do not indicate any wrongdoing.
IFFCO warned against the spread of misinformation and emphasised its commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
"Request all of you to avoid this 'misleading propaganda' and use IFFCO's quality fertilizers and biostimulants," the statement concluded.
