Eatala fires failure salvo against Cong govt in TG
Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender criticised the Congress-led state government for failing to fulfil its promise of clearing pending bills ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 20 lakh owed to contractors who completed various works. Addressing the media on Monday, he stated that the non-payment of these bills has pushed small contractors into dire financial situation. He alleged that contractors have been pressured to pay a 10 per cent commission to clear the pending bills. Additionally, police and RTC employees are struggling to withdraw their savings and obtain loans. Government employees, officials, and teachers are forced to roam around offices seeking retirement benefits, while retired employees are not receiving their pensions, he said. Rajender questioned the moral right of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to govern the state efficiently with the financial situation worsening. He expressed concern over the cancellation of old pensions and the non-acceptance of new pension applications for the elderly and disabled. He also criticised Congress for promising to deliver Kalyana Lakshmi cheques during marriages but failing to issue cheques even after the birth of children to those married. Furthermore, he alleged that the Indiramma Committees formed in villages are prioritising Congress workers for housing over deserving candidates, warning the Congress government that they will face protests from people. Due to untimely rains in the state, grains at procurement centres have become wet and muddy, causing farmers significant losses. Given that this is a dry season crop, he demanded the government purchase the soaked grain urgently and support the farmers. Eatala Rajender emphasised that the Congress government, led by Revanth Reddy, is failing and is resorting to diversionary politics to distract the public. He noted that the first caste census was conducted under British rule in 1935, and despite 90 years passing since then, Congress leaders such as Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi ignored the negative impacts of reservations on merit and skills development. They failed to prioritise the advancement of downtrodden classes. Rahul Gandhi may walk around holding the Constitution. However, Congress has a checkered history of defeating Ambedkar, the author of the Constitution. Although the backward classes (BC) population in the state exceeds 50 per cent, Congress has done an injustice by underestimating their numbers in the recent caste census, he added. 'The BJP takes credit for giving the country an OBC Prime Minister. In PM Modi's cabinet, there are several ministers from diverse backgrounds: 27 OBC from the OBC category, 12 Dalit ministers, 8 tribal ministers, and 5 minority ministers,' he added. Besides, more than 60 per cent of responsibilities have been assigned to poor and vulnerable groups. The Modi government aims to lead the country on a development path to achieve a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047. In contrast, the Congress government does not prioritise students, farmers, and the poor, he alleged.

Collector sets one week deadline for Indiramma houses' construction
Wanaparthy: District Collector Adarsh Surabhi reviewed the progress of the Indiramma housing construction on Friday with tahsildars, MPDOs, MEOs, and Municipal Commissioners during which he stressed that the entire process must be completed by May 10. He stated that on January 26, as a pilot project under the first phase, Indiramma houses were sanctioned to 1,300 beneficiaries, with one village selected from each mandal. However, so far, only 414 beneficiaries have started construction. Among these, 94 have completed the basement level; 54 houses have received the first phase bill payment. He instructed that a meeting be held on Saturday with those who have not yet started construction. If anyone expresses disinterest in continuing, they must provide a written statement. He emphasised that houses from those unwilling to proceed will be reallocated to other poor families in need. The Collector also specified that beneficiaries must build their homes within 600 sq ft. 'If anyone has started construction on a larger area, they should be persuaded to reduce it; otherwise, their sanction under the Indiramma scheme should be cancelled,' he said. Regarding the second phase, he ordered that based on reports submitted by the Indiramma Committees, the list of eligible beneficiaries scrutinised by the designated officials must be uploaded through the collector login. Surabhi said that in many mandals and municipalities, lists were prepared after scrutiny by special officers. Beneficiary orders will be issued to eligible people with the approval of the in-charge minister. Additional collector (local bodies In-charge) Yadayya, Housing PD Parvathalu attended the meeting.

Transparent Selection, Timely Funding: Indiramma Housing Scheme Moves Forward in Gadwal District
Gadwal: The selection process for the prestigious Indiramma Housing Scheme must be carried out with complete fairness and transparency, said District Collector B.M. Santosh while addressing a meeting with concerned officials at the IDOC Conference Hall on Wednesday. Emphasizing the commitment to support the economically weaker sections, the Collector directed officials to ensure that only eligible and genuinely poor individuals receive the benefit of Indiramma houses. From the Yell-1 list comprising 50,000 applicants, 7,000 beneficiaries—3,500 from each of the two Assembly constituencies in the district—will be selected transparently, he added. To ensure impartial selection, special district-level officers have been appointed. The Collector stressed that the entire process, including sanctioning and construction of houses, should be completed before the onset of the monsoon. Each beneficiary is eligible for a subsidy of up to Rs. 5 lakh under this scheme. The first installment of Rs. 1 lakh has already been released to 20 beneficiaries in the pilot villages of each mandal who have completed the basement-level construction of their homes. The Collector directed officials to complete the beneficiary selection process for 3,500 people in each constituency without delay. A special officer has been appointed for every 200 applications to expedite verification. The Indiramma Committees will prepare and submit eligibility lists to these officers. He instructed that field verification must be completed by April 30, and only eligible candidates should be included in the final list. He specifically warned against including partially completed or abandoned houses from previous years into the scheme. Regarding house size, the Collector mandated that new homes must be constructed with no less than 400 sq. ft. and not exceeding 600 sq. ft. For improved oversight, Additional Collectors have been assigned to the Gadwal and Alampur constituencies. Funds will be transferred directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts every Monday, depending on the stage of construction. Officials were also instructed to upload weekly progress details of Indiramma housing works via the Village Secretary mobile application. He emphasized that construction must be fast-tracked and completed by the end of May. In both villages and municipalities, field-level officials must ensure the selection of beneficiaries adheres to government regulations, and work should progress rapidly, he said. The Collector also reminded that the deadline for LRS (Layout Regularization Scheme) applications is April 30 and that no extension will be granted. He directed municipal and panchayat officials to immediately resolve pending applications that have already paid 25% of the rebate amount. Present at the meeting were Additional Collectors Lakshminarayana and Narsing Rao, special officers, MPDOs, municipal commissioners, and engineering officials from the housing department among others.
