2025 Central Texas Remarkable Woman Winner Ready To Head To Hollywood
WACO, TX (FOX 44) — 2025 Central Texas Remarkable Woman contest winner Inez Russell is ready to head to Los Angeles to represent Central Texas and the Brazos Valley among the nation's other 124 contest winners!
FOX 44's Vince Erickson had a conversation with Russell this week. She told him she's excited to fly out to Los Angeles on Sunday and spend a busy day there on Monday — with planned and surprise activities during the day and the awards banquet on Monday evening!
'Every day as this becomes real, I'm getting a lot of communication from Nexstar, and itineraries, and even emails from the other Remarkable Women across the country,' Russell said. 'And it's been fun to learn about them, and very humbling to think that I'm going to be part of all of this.
'I'm honored and humbled that I was chosen and I'm so grateful that I get to be part of this, and I think you guys do an amazing job of making us feel special. I'm happy to get to go but I feel blessed to get to be part of it.'
Russell stressed she'll also be excited to tell her fellow Remarkable Women winners, who will also gather in Los Angeles, all about Friends For Life – Inez's Waco nonprofit that helps older and disabled adults live their best lives independently and safely – her motivation since founding the organization almost 36 years ago.
'The thing that touches my heart the most is we've been given a great opportunity to tell people about the people we serve and what we're trying to do to help them,' Russell said. 'And, I know the end result will be that more people will help us, which will mean we can help more people. We can help them in more ways, and that's the important thing.'
