SIBU (Aug 9): A total of 130 healthcare professionals from hospitals and health clinics across Sarawak attended the Infectious Disease Update 2025 at Kingwood Hotel here today.
The two-day event was organised by the Sibu Hospital's Infectious Disease Unit, and was officiated by Sibu Hospital director Dr Nanthakumar Thirunavukkarasu.
'This update is very important to collaborate, educate, elevate and strengthen infectious disease practices together — meaning to say, how are we going to improve compliance especially in HIV patients,' he said.
Dr Nanthakumar emphasised the event held significant daily importance, particularly for the state, and encouraged its participants to make full use of the event, including asking questions.
Among the topics expounded were HIV management, dengue, malaria and meliodosis.
Also present were the event's organising chairpersons Dr Eusebius Teo and Dr Wong Toh Mee. healthcare Infectious Disease Update Sibu
