PM Shehbaz arrives in Quetta on day-long visit
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Quetta on Saturday on a day-long visit. The premier e was received by Acting Governor and Speaker Balochistan Assembly Abdul Khaliq Achakzai and Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti. Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Member of the National Assembly Attaullah Tarar are also accompanying the PM. The PM will visit the Command and Staff College in Quetta and will also attend a Grand Jirga.

PM Shehbaz arrives in Tajikistan for key bilateral talks
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Tajikistan's capital, Dushanbe, on a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing regional challenges, according to a statement from the prime minister's office. Upon landing at Dushanbe Airport, the Prime Minister was warmly received by Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, Deputy Foreign Minister Sharifzoda Farrukh Homiddin, Tajik Ambassador to Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda, and Pakistan's Ambassador to Tajikistan Muhammad Saeed Sarwar. Brothers in arms: PM Shehbaz addresses Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Summit Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the PM Syed Tariq Fatemi accompanied the Prime Minister. During his visit, PM Shehbaz Sharif will hold high-level talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to discuss enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors. The Prime Minister is also expected to express gratitude for Tajikistan's 'strong support' for Pakistan amid recent tensions between Pakistan and India in South Asia. The Prime Minister will also participate in a high-level international conference in Dushanbe focused on glacier preservation. In his address, he will highlight 'the impacts of climate change on Pakistan' and reaffirm the country's 'unwavering commitment to environmental protection and glacier conservation.' The visit underscores Pakistan's diplomatic engagement with Central Asia and its leadership in global climate advocacy.

Government raises paddy MSP to Rs 2,369 per quintal for 2025-26
NEW DELHI: The government on Wednesday raised the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy by 3 per cent to Rs 2,369 per quintal for the 2025-26 kharif marketing season. A decision in this regard was taken by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The support price for common and A grade varieties has been increased by Rs 69 per quintal to Rs 2,369 and Rs 2,389 per quintal, respectively, for the forthcoming kharif season of 2025-26 crop year (July-June). Among pulses, support price for tur has been raised by Rs 450 to Rs 8,000 per quintal, while that of urad MSP by Rs 400 to RS 7,800 per quintal and moong MSP by Rs 86 to Rs 8768 per quintal for 2025-26 kharif marketing season. The government has increased the MSP of Kharif crops for 2025-26, to ensure remunerative prices to the growers for their produce, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told reporters. The highest absolute increase in MSP over the previous year has been recommended for nigerseed, followed by Ragi, Cotton, and Sesamum. The increase in kharif crops support price for 2025-26 is in line with the Union Budget 2018-19 announcement of fixing the MSP at a level of at least 1.5 times the All-India weighted average cost of production.
