Lebanese Army arrests 144 Syrians for illegal entry, detains multiple Lebanese suspects in raids

The Lebanese Army announced on Tuesday that its units, backed by Intelligence Directorate patrols, conducted multiple raids in Mount Lebanon and the South, resulting in a wave of arrests targeting both undocumented individuals and wanted criminals. According to the army's statement, 144 Syrian nationals were apprehended in Falougha in Baabda district, Boqaata, and Samqaniyeh in the Chouf district for illegally residing in Lebanon. Additionally, a Lebanese citizen was arrested for interfering with army personnel during their operations. In a separate operation, intelligence patrols arrested four Lebanese nationals. In Galerie Semaan in Baabda, a citizen was detained on charges including arms trafficking, firing weapons, issuing threats, and extortion. A pistol and live ammunition were confiscated from his possession. In Kfar Roummane in Nabatieh, three individuals were arrested for firing weapons and provoking disturbances. Authorities also seized firearms and ammunition from their homes. Another patrol detained a suspect in Ras Osta, Jbeil, after a surveillance and chase operation revealed that he was driving a stolen vehicle. All confiscated items were handed over to the relevant authorities, and investigations are underway under the supervision of the competent judiciary.

Monday, 14 July 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: A unit of the LAF, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, raided the residences of wanted individuals in the Bab Al Raml - Tripoli. They arrested a citizen ( and his two brothers (AA.H.) and (AA.H.) for firing at a citizen, which resulted in his death. A pistol and military ammunition were found in their possession. Another unit raided the residences of wanted individuals for firing during a clash in Brital-Baalbek, seizing a quantity of narcotics, a weapon, military ammunition, and equipment for counterfeiting money, along with military gear. Follow-ups are ongoing to apprehend those involved. Additionally, a unit of the LAF, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, conducted a raid in the Halat area of Jbeil and arrested 64 Syrians for illegally roaming within Lebanese territory. The seized items were handed over, and investigations with the arrestees were initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.

Monday, 14 July 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On July 13, 2025, following information received by the Intelligence Directorate regarding a major Captagon pill laboratory in Al Yammouna - Baalbek, a patrol from the Directorate, supported by a LAF unit, conducted a raid on the laboratory. It was found to be one of the largest laboratories seized to date. LAF personnel worked to dismantle the equipment and machinery used in the laboratory, weighing approximately 10 tons, and destroyed part of it. Additionally, they seized a large quantity of Captagon pills, crystal meth, and various other drug substances. The LAF also brought in a bulldozer, which filled a tunnel of approximately 300 meters long that was used for entering and exiting the laboratory and storing some of its equipment. The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities, with follow-ups ongoing to arrest those involved.

The Lebanese army has dismantled what it described as one of the largest captagon pill-manufacturing labs discovered to date in Yammoune in the Baalbek region of eastern Lebanon. Army chiefs said on Monday that forces raided the facility 24 hours earlier. 'After the Intelligence Directorate obtained information about a major captagon pill lab in the town of Yammoune, a patrol from the directorate, supported by a unit from the army, carried out a raid on the lab,' it said. 'The personnel dismantled the equipment and machinery used, weighing about 10 tonnes, and destroyed part of it.' The patrol also 'seized a huge quantity of captagon pills, crystal meth, and various other narcotic substances.' Army chiefs added: 'The lab contained a tunnel used for entry and exit, and army personnel brought in a bulldozer and filled in the tunnel, which was approximately 300 meters long.' The tunnel was 'also used to store part of the lab's equipment.' The statement did not reveal who was operating the lab or whether anyone was arrested during the raid. 'The seized materials are now in the custody of the security agencies,' it said. 'An investigation has begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and efforts are ongoing to arrest those involved.'

Friday, 11 July 2025 The LAF Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: Lebanese Armed Forces units, accompanied by patrols from the Intelligence Directorate, raided camps for Syrian refugees in the areas of Anfeh, Beshmezine, and Amioun–Koura, and arrested 31 Syrians. Additionally, a LAF unit at the Madfoun checkpoint in Batroun arrested 18 Syrians, while a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate in Dora – Metn arrested 7 Syrians, all for wandering inside Lebanese territory without legal papers. Investigations were initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
