Raids, Arrests, and Seizures of Weapons, Ammunition, and Counterfeit Money Equipment
The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
A unit of the LAF, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, raided the residences of wanted individuals in the Bab Al Raml - Tripoli. They arrested a citizen (AA.AA.H.) and his two brothers (AA.H.) and (AA.H.) for firing at a citizen, which resulted in his death. A pistol and military ammunition were found in their possession.
Another unit raided the residences of wanted individuals for firing during a clash in Brital-Baalbek, seizing a quantity of narcotics, a weapon, military ammunition, and equipment for counterfeiting money, along with military gear. Follow-ups are ongoing to apprehend those involved.
Additionally, a unit of the LAF, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, conducted a raid in the Halat area of Jbeil and arrested 64 Syrians for illegally roaming within Lebanese territory.
The seized items were handed over, and investigations with the arrestees were initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.

Oueidat once again absent from interrogation with Judge Bitar over Aug. 4 port explosion
Former public prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Judge Ghassan Oueidat, did not appear at the interrogation session scheduled for Monday before investigating judge at the Court of Justice, Tarek Bitar, who had summoned him as part of his investigation into the explosion that occurred at Beirut Port on Aug. 4, 2020. Judge Bitar decided to 'not summon Judge Oueidat again and to postpone any decision regarding him until the indictment is issued,' in accordance with the approach adopted for 'other people recently questioned,' reported the state-run National News Agency (NNA). On July 11, Oueidat declined to appear. He had not been notified of the hearing by the judicial police and had been summoned via the Public Prosecution, according to a high-ranking judicial source cited by L'Orient-Le Jour. Judge Bitar then set a new hearing for July 21, 10 days later. In January 2023, Oueidat prohibited the Public Prosecution and the judicial police from cooperating with Bitar in the port investigation. This ban was lifted on March 10, 2025, by the new public prosecutor, Jamal Hajjar, after 26 months of deadlock. On July 4, it was Amal MP and former minister Ghazi Zeaiter who did not appear at his hearing, choosing to be represented by his lawyer, Samer al-Hajj. A new summons was set for July 18, which Zeaiter also failed to attend. On Aug. 4, 2020, one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history devastated a large part of the Lebanese capital, killing more than 220 people and injuring 6,500. The blast was caused by a fire in a port warehouse where tons of ammonium nitrate had been stored without precaution, despite repeated warnings to the highest authorities, who were accused of negligence. Judge Bitar had to suspend his investigations in January 2023, faced with hostility from much of the political class, notably Hezbollah, as well as a series of legal actions brought against him. He resumed his investigation at the beginning of 2025 and has already questioned several former officials, including former Prime Minister Hassan Diab and former Interior Minister Nohad Mashnouk.

Arrest of 63 Syrians for illegally roaming within Lebanese territory, along with 7 individuals for committing various crimes
Sunday, 20 July 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On July 19, 2025, LAF units arrested 37 individuals as follows: • 31 Syrians were arrested at the Shadra checkpoint – Akkar for illegally roaming within Lebanese territory. • One Lebanese citizen (M.S.) and five Syrians were arrested at the Tebbaneh checkpoint – Tripoli; the Lebanese national was caught smuggling the Syrians across the border, and they were all present in Lebanon illegally. Additionally, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence arrested two Lebanese citizens (F.B. and and two Syrians ( and in the Mina – Tripoli area for vandalizing a place of worship in the area. Another patrol from the Directorate arrested two Lebanese citizens (M.D. and A.B.) and 27 Syrians in Hermel – Baalbek for smuggling activities and illegal presence in Lebanon. The investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.

The LAF is reinforcing its deployment in the outskirts of Rmeich – Bint Jbeil in response to violations by the Israeli enemy
Sunday, 20 July 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: Various engineering and military vehicles belonging to the Israeli enemy crossed the technical fence and proceeded to carry out earthworks in the outskirts of the town of Rmeich – Bint Jbeil, in a blatant violation of Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement. In response, the LAF reinforced its deployment in the area to confront the enemy, and a patrol from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) arrived to document the violations, which forced the hostile forces to withdraw back into the occupied territory. The LAF Command continues to monitor developments at the southern border in coordination with UNIFIL.
