Jax Taylor takes another swipe at ex Brittany Cartwright with shock marriage admission
Jax Taylor has dropped another chilling accusation that affects his ex-wife Brittany Cartwright, the mother of his four-year-old son Cruz. 'I think about it now, and I just don't personally think I am supposed to be in a relationship,' Taylor said. 'I just don't think I'm supposed to be married. You know, I've known this my whole life.' He made this admission on the May 1 episode of his podcast In the Mind of a Man, in answer to a fan's question about dating again. 'I met Brittany and I thought, okay, maybe things are gonna be different. I love her and I want to be with her, and I — this is what you should do, you know?,' the Vanderpump Rules alum said. 'And deep, deep, deep down inside, I've always known that I just... I was never the person to get married. And yet, Jax married Brittany Cartwright, 36, had Cruz with her, and never stopped partying or doing cocaine. He never settled into the relationship. When the question of whether he'll date again was asked, Taylor said, 'I don't wanna answer that question because I don't know. As of right now, absolutely not. 'The person wasn't the problem,' he explained. 'Like, Brittany wasn't the problem — I'm the problem ... I get bored being in relationships. I don't wanna be in a relationship. I just don't like it.' Jax went so far as calling himself 'the farthest thing [from who a woman] should date.' 'That's why I'm doing this tour, people, to show you I am the walking red flag. I am what you stay away from. 'Don't go anywhere near a guy like me,' he said of his upcoming live podcast tapings. 'And if I can help other girls stay away from men like me, then you know what? I've done my job.' He continued, 'I feel like this is my job, is to go out there, talk about my sobriety, talk about my mental health, talk about the struggles that I've had with drugs and alcohol, and also to help women stay away from men like me. I feel like that's what my goal is right now.' The podcast came out soon after episode two of season two of The Valley dropped in which his friends did an intervention on him and begged him to get help or Brittany wouldn't let him see their son. Meanwhile, Brittany did not hold anything back when asked to assess her ex's bedroom abilities on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with her co-star from The Valley, Luke Broderick. The aftermath of their relationship - which ended in August 2024 when she filed for divorce - has played out on this season of The Valley, which airs Tuesdays on Bravo. Cartwright responded with a smile, opening with, 'Oh, lord. There was times when he was about a 7 or an 8.' However, she added with a laugh, 'But majority of the time, no stamina, no nothing. A two or three.' Cartwright and Taylor first started dating in 2015, two years after Bravo's Vanderpump Rules debuted. They got engaged in June 2018 and tied the knot in 2019 in Brittany's home state of Kentucky, and then welcomed son Cruz in April 2021. The couple shocked the reality TV world when they split, with Cartwright citing, 'irreconcilable differences.' A month after her filing, Taylor revealed he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD, and announced he was checking himself into a rehab facility. 'The person wasn't the problem,' he explained. 'Like, Brittany wasn't the problem — I'm the problem ... I get bored being in relationships. I don't wanna be in a relationship. I just don't like it'; Brittany seen in March 2025 When asked on WWHL if there was ever any chance she would get back with Taylor, Cartwright insisted, '100% no.' She admitted, 'I had weak moments, for sure. I was with him for ten years. Obviously, I loved him. And want nothing but the best for him.' However, she added, 'But he has damaged our relationship far too much to go back,' and added the current state of their relationship was, 'not great.' She also admitted that she's not, '100% sure' that Jax is sober now, though she said, 'I really hope he is sober.' 'His personality is still very much a Jax Taylor personality, so it's a lot of ups and downs,' Cartwright admitted.
