He will be joined by comedian Alan Carr, 48, and Scottish Line of Duty actor Mark Bonnar, 56, who played DCC Mike Dryden in the cult series. Olympic swimming star Tom Daley, 30, is also among the competitors and will be joined by ITV talk show host Jonathan Ross, 64. The American version of the psychological game show is different from the British version, as the contestants include reality stars. However, it is set in the same castle in the Highlands as the BBC version fronted by Claudia. Despite having the same job, the pair have never met in person. But Hollywood star Alan discovered a crafty way to communicate with his colleague. He told The Mirror: "Isn't it nuts? We might be the same person because you've never seen us in the same room. We have mutual friends and nearly met years ago. "We were the guinea pigs for the show so there was some trepidation about doing something new. "We leave messages for each other on the make-up mirror."

Celebrity Traitors is underway as 19 celebrities have been whisked off to a secret location to take on the ultimate game of deception for the first star-studded spin-off Filming for the first Celebrity Traitors is underway as the stars have been whisked off to a secret location. They will be taking on the hit BBC murder-mystery show for the chance of winning a cash prize up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice. Host Claudia Winkleman will be on hand, just like the three highly successful series of the original show. But now, it is the celebrities turn to see if they really have what it takes to play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust. ‌ The remarkable series, with huge names including Kate Garraway, Alan Carr, Stephen Fry, Jonathan Ross and Paloma Faith, sees them enter the iconic the castle. ‌ It was previously confirmed by the Mirror that comedian Alan and former child star Charlotte Church were set to lead the 19-long list of big names. With filming underway and excitement brewing, the BBC have confirmed the series will air in the autumn. Unlike the original series of The Traitors, we won't have to wait until next year. Speaking on the line-up, excited host Claudia said: 'We're incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I'd love to say we'll take it easy on them and they'll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks but that would be a lie.' Those taking part include Alan Carr, singer Cat Burns, actor Celia Imrie, singer and activist Charlotte Church, broadcaster Clare Balding, historian David Olusoga, rugby star Joe Marler, comedian Joe Wilkinson and presenter Jonathan Ross. They will be joined by broadcaster Kate Garraway, comedian Lucy Beaumont, actor Mark Bonnar, actor and comedian Nick Mohammed, content creator Niko Omilana, singer Paloma Faith, actor Ruth Codd, actor and writer Stephen Fry, actor and comedian Tameka Empson and Olympian Tom Daley. ‌ Ahead of the release of the series, a source told us: "There will be a huge mix of personalities - and ego sizes. Seeing how it all works out is going to be fascinating. "The team making the show are expecting it to be quite different to the regular version because the celebrities will be less motivated by the prize fund but care far more about how they come across. "It will be really interesting to see how the gameplay compares, along with which tactics they employ. Hopefully, one thing that will remain the same is that it will be a lot of fun to watch." ‌ The group have been on strict instructions by production staff to maintain a low-key profile ahead of filming and were also banned from liaising with each other. At the end of last month, the cast were pictured arriving at Inverness Airport before filming at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, as they embark on the game which test their levels of deception. Filming for the BBC series is said to be gruelling, with former star Charlotte Chilton revealing that they would film for 17 hours a day. "That's the hardest part. It sounds crazy - you might go 'you were only together for like 3 weeks or whatever'. But that 3 weeks, where some days like... 17 hours in a day and you're sat with those people constantly," she told the Mirror.

Bundled into the back of a black people carrier, the cast included Good Morning Britain star Kate Garraway, TV talk show host Jonathan Ross, Charlotte Church, Stephen Fry and singer Paloma Faith. The group have been on strict instructions by production staff to maintain a low-key profile ahead of filming and were also banned from liaising with each other. ‌ But yesterday, the entire cast were rushed out of a side door exit as filming is set to start at a secret location. TV star Jonathan Ross was seen climbing into the back of a car before sitting down next to Clare Balding, who was also in the car, and having a chat. ‌ Meanwhile, comedian Alan Carr looked excited for filming to kick off as he stood with production staff. Alan, 48, looked dapper in a grown suit jacket and checked brown trousers. Good Morning Britain star Kate Garraway was pictured with rollers in her hair as she gets camera-ready as she climbed into an awaiting car. Meanwhile, Charlotte Church was seen in deep conversation while sat in the back of a car with Bob Mortimer and Nick Mohammed, ahead of the start of filming. Meanwhile, Olympian Tom Daley also emerged from the side exit of a building. The smartly-dressed star looked deep in thought, perhaps getting his head in the game. Earlier this week, the cast were pictured arriving at Inverness Airport. It has been reported that nineteen high-profile names are joining host Claudia Winkleman at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, as they embark on the game which test their levels of deception. ‌ Rugby star Joe Marler, YouTuber Niko Omilana and Line Of Duty and Shetland star Mark Bonnar, as well as comedians Joe Wilkinson and Lucy Beaumont have also signed up for the new series, as well as EastEnders actress Tameka Empson and actresses Celia Imrie and Ruth Codd. Claudia Winkleman will be back to host the hit show, which launched three years ago in the UK. A celebrity version also airs in the United States, but differently, it has both celebrities and civilians in it. ‌ Filming for the BBC series is said to be gruelling, with one of the series' stars Charlotte Chilton revealed that they would film for 17 hours a day, as she admitted she would spend hours on end with them. "That's the hardest part. It sounds crazy - you might go 'you were only together for like 3 weeks or whatever'. But that 3 weeks, where some days like... 17 hours in a day and you're sat with those people constantly," she told The Mirror. Host Claudia recently confessed that bosses have banned the inclusion of her A-list celebrity friends to take part in future series as it could compromise the game. ‌ During a recent interview alongside her co-presenter Mika from Channel 4's The Piano, Claudia was asked by The Sun if Mika would be a Faithful or a Traitor, if he were to appear on the celebrity spin-off. Stating that he could be either, she then confirmed she was not allowed friends as she could give the entire game away. She explained: "But I cannot have a friend there, otherwise I would just say [gestures to who would be the Traitor]." ‌ The host also claimed that she would love to take part in the game herself but fears she would not be good at deceiving people confidently enough. She revealed: "I would love to play that game. I would not be very good at it but I would love to play." The Strictly Come Dancing presenter was recently pictured arriving at Inverness airport dressed casually in a pair of denim jeans, teamed with a black bomber jacket. She accessorised her look with a green scarf. It remains unknown if she was under strict instruction by bosses to maintain a low profile but onlookers claimed that while she appered in a good mood, she coyly engaged with the crowd as she went through baggage reclaim. She was joined by a male pal and the pair headed towards their vehicle.
