PM's Advisor: The Arab Media Conference Reflects the Iraqi Media Network's Success in Strengthening Arab Cooperation

Baghdad – INA Prime Minister's Advisor Hussein Allawi affirmed on Thursday that holding the Fourth Arab Media Conference in Baghdad reflects the success of the Iraqi Media Network and its communication with Arab countries and corresponding official media institutions. He pointed out that the Iraqi Media Network promotes the country's tourism and historical heritage to promote stability and support the country's tourism sector. Allawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Following the success of the Arab, economic, and development summits hosted by Baghdad, there is now significant success being capitalized on by Iraqi state institutions, most notably the Iraqi Media Network by holding the Fourth Arab Media Conference in cooperation with the Arab Broadcasting Union." He explained that "holding this conference demonstrates the success of the Iraqi Media Network's work and its communication with Arab countries and official media networks and institutions in Arab countries." He added, "The conference is part of the Iraqi Media Network's efforts to discuss recent developments in the media world, Iraqi-Arab media cooperation, and the paths of media partnership in Arab programs and policies. It also addresses challenges on social media, combats extremism and violence, and other challenges facing Arab public opinion." He pointed out that "the conference discusses partnerships in shaping Arab public opinion through joint programs and training, women's empowerment, and support for young people working in the media sector, both in Iraq and in Arab countries. It also includes initiatives that focus on positive media images, improving content on social media, developing programs, and addressing public opinion in the Arab world." Regarding the conference's coincidence with the announcement of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital, Allawi explained, "This coincidence is very important and comes within the framework of marketing stability and the state's support for the tourism sector." He noted that "the selection of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital represents an important milestone." He continued, "The Iraqi Media Network has worked to market and promote tourism facilities and the great historical heritage that spans seven thousand years," noting that "Iraq has been able to transform security challenges into a major opportunity after the victory of our armed forces over terrorist organizations."

Qatari Emir invited to attend Arab Summit in Iraq

Baghdad ( – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, invited the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on Monday to participate in the Arab Summit, which will take place in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on May 17. During his meeting with the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in the capital, Doha, Hussein delivered an official invitation from Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid to Al Thani to participate in the upcoming Arab Summit, according to a statement released by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry. Hussein emphasized that the upcoming summit in Baghdad would serve as an important signal of the strength of Iraqi-Arab ties and that Iraq is currently enjoying extraordinary political and security stability. The Iraqi foreign minister conveyed his government's optimism that Arab countries would effectively participate in the summit in Baghdad, strengthening Arab cooperation in addressing regional and global issues. Al Thani highlighted Qatar's keenness to guarantee the success of the Arab Summit, applauding the efforts made by the Iraqi government in this respect and expressing his country's continuous support for promoting stability in Iraq and the region. In political, economic, and investment-related areas, the two sides talked about how to improve their bilateral ties. Additionally, they discussed the ongoing preparations to sign bilateral agreements that represent the growing ties between Doha and Baghdad. During the meeting, Hussein discussed the situation in Syria, warning that Iraq is concerned about the continuous escalation in the neighboring country, which might escalate into a larger regional conflict. To limit the situation and promote peaceful solutions, he urged coordinated regional and international actions. The two ministers also talked about the progress made in the current negotiations between the United States and Iran, expressing optimism that these talks will produce positive outcomes that would help to defuse the situation. To promote regional stability and both countries' interests, the two parties agreed to strengthen their diplomatic efforts and keep coordinating on regional matters.
