SJ Suryahs directorial Killer first look poster unveiled
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 20 (ANI): Actor SJ Suryah is set to don the director's cap after almost a decade with the film 'Killer'. The actor has shared the first look of his character from the film. In a post on his Instagram handle, SJ Suryah shared a poster featuring him holding a gun while standing next to a luxurious car. In the next poster, the actor was seen holding actress Preethi Asrani, who plays the lead heroine in the movie. As per the first look poster, SJ Suryah appears to be playing the role of a gangster who excels at handling firearms. Preethi Asrani is expected to play the love interest of SJ Suryah in the film. The movie is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. The movie's music is composed by Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman. The makers have not yet revealed the details of the movie. The fans have been eagerly awaiting updates regarding the film. SJ Suryah's last directorial was Isai, which was released in 2015. The film marked Suryah's return to direction after a five-year hiatus since 2010, and also his debut as a music director. The movie also starred Sathyaraj and Sulagna Panigrahi in prominent roles. Meanwhile, SJ Suryah is also set to share screens with actor Ravi Mohan for the first time in their upcoming film 'Bro Code'. It will be directed by filmmaker Karthik Yogi, known for films like 'Dikkiloona' and 'Vadakkupatti Ramasamy'. Posting to his X handle, the director Karthik Yogi announced his new project, which is set to star two well-known actors, Ravi Mohan and SJ Suryah. SJ Suryah to make directorial comeback with film Killer, South film industry actors react
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 29 (ANI): Actor SJ Suryah is set to make his directorial comeback after 10 years with the film 'Killer'. The actor's last directed movie was Isai in 2015. In a post on the social media platform X, SJ Suryah announced his return to direction by sharing the details of his next project titled 'Killer'. It will be produced by Malayalam production house Sree Gokulam Movies along with SJ Suryah's Angel Studios. The director called 'Killer' his "dream project" and expressed his gratitude to Gokulam Gopalan (owner of Gokulam movies) for collaborating with him on this movie. He also mentioned actress Preethi Asanari as the 'Killer Girl' in his post while hinting at her involvement in the film. "Hi folks, Ur Director is bk with his Dream project titled, Yah U know it #KILLER feeling blessed and happy to collaborate with the most prestigious @GokulamMovies. Gokulam Gopalan, sir. SJ Suryah to don filmmaker's hat after 10 years
'Though it's titled Killer , it's not about psycho killer. It revolves around a hitman, and it will be a James Bond meets Kushi kind of film, with action, comedy and romance,' he tells us. Director-turned-actor SJ Suryah, who has been busy as an actor for the past decade, is all set to begin the shoot of his next directorial — his first in 10 years, since Isai (2015) — which will go on floors in the city today. The film, titled Killer , will be a romantic action comedy, he shares. 'Though it's titled Killer , it's not about psycho killer. It revolves around a hitman, and it will be a James Bond meets Kushi kind of film, with action, comedy and romance,' he tells us. He adds, 'While most of the film will be shot in India, a significant portion will be filmed in Mexico.' The filmmaker has been talking about wanting to make this project for quite some time. Delving into the script's origins, he says, 'I wrote the script during the lockdown, when there was hardly any disturbance around me. I wanted to come up with something that will work across the country, and I think I've managed to crack it. My dream has always been to earn a place for myself like MGR in cinema, and I feel this film will help take me to this place. That is why I'm going to make this in five languages.'

15-year-old boys among the attackers, says Pahalgam victim's son
Boys around 15 years old with cameras mounted over their heads and clicking selfies were among the attackers, says Austen Nathaniel as he deals with the trauma of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed his father, Sushil Nathaniel. Sushil, 58, a resident of Indore and a Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) employee, was among the 26 civilians shot dead by terrorists at Baisaran valley in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. His son Austen, 27, daughter Akanksha, 32, and wife Jennifer, 54, who survived the tragedy came back to Indore on Wednesday night. Pahalgam terror attack: Follow LIVE updates on April 24, 2025 Mr. Austen, who spoke to The Hindu after his father's last rites on Thursday, says two boys around 15 years of age and carrying guns had approached his parents. 'I was a little behind and my parents were going to use the washroom when those boys approached them and asked my dad to recite Kalma. When he said he was an Isai (Christian), they yelled saying 'what Isai! Falisteen, Failsteen' and shot him,' he says, adding that his father had pushed Ms. Jennifer aside to safety. 'When she regained consciousness and saw my father lying dead, she ran screaming 'what is Kalma? they shot him',' he recalls, saying that her sister who was also at a distance ran towards Ms. Jennifer and injured her leg in a fall.
