SDPW completes maintenance of 44 pools ahead of summer
Olympic Pools Upgraded Across Centers The maintenance included 24 Olympic-sized swimming pools located in children's centers across Mughaidir, Al Khalidiyah, Al Heera, Halwan, Al Rifa'a, Al Dhaid, Maliha, Thamid, Madam, Al Qarayen, Kalba, Wadi Al Helo, Khorfakkan, and Dibba Al-Hisn. Additionally, it covered youth centers in Wasit, Al Dhaid, Madam, Mleiha, Kalba, Khorfakkan, and Dibba Al-Hisn, along with the Sajaya Young Ladies Center. Diverse Club Involvement Twenty other pools at clubs and centers were also renovated, including those at the Islamic Forum, Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, the Arab Cultural Club, Al Hamriyah Cultural Sports Club, Sharjah Cultural Sports Club, Police Officers Club, Police Academy, Khorfakkan Ladies Club, Sharjah Safari Staff Pool, Desert Park (Environment and Protected Areas Authority), Al Dhaid Cultural Sports Club, Madam Cultural Sports Club, Al Bataeh Cultural Sports Club, Maliha Sports Club, and Dibba Al-Hisn Cultural Sports Club. New Systems, Energy Efficiency Focused Technical teams from the Directorate's Building Maintenance Department carried out a range of works to ensure pool safety and operational efficiency. This included cleaning the pools, testing water quality, and verifying the effectiveness of disinfection systems to ensure user safety. Infrastructure Upgrades Done According to a technical report from the department, the maintenance included replacing outdated water pumps with more efficient systems, installing energy-saving LED lighting, and equipping new "Chiller" units for temperature regulation. Parts of the pool insulation systems were also upgraded to enhance safety and usability. Vital Services Maintained The SDPW highlighted that these efforts are crucial, given the importance of these facilities to the community. The pool renovations are part of a larger plan to ensure infrastructure readiness throughout the emirate. Annual Strategy Ensures Quality Eng. Hadhif Al Khodr, Director of the Building Maintenance Department, noted that the maintenance work is part of an annual plan to maintain the efficiency of vital facilities in the emirate. The objective is to provide excellent services to the public, particularly during the summer when pool usage peaks. He emphasised that all work adhered to top technical specifications and environmental standards to minimise energy consumption and promote sustainability. Leadership Vision Fulfilled He added that the project was carried out in response to directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at ensuring a safe and ideal environment for residents to participate in sports and recreation. Sustainable Future Goals These initiatives are part of a broader summer program by the Department, encompassing various service sectors. The goal is to provide high-quality services that align with the emirate's aspirations and contribute to its vision of being a sustainable and eco-friendly city.

Al Muntada Al Islami library: A cultural beacon
The cultural landscape of the Emirate of Sharjah is distinguished by its many rich cultural institutions and public libraries. The library houses unique treasures of knowledge, including valuable collections of original manuscripts and documents, in addition to a wide range of university theses, Islamic history books, and biographies, meeting the diverse research needs of researchers and scholars. The 'Book Culture' project The Islamic Forum administration believes that books are the cornerstone of building a cultured and creative society. Accordingly, the library continues to implement its ambitious "Book Culture" project, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of reading and drive cognitive progress in society. Within the framework of this project, the library has significantly enriched its collection this year with rare specialisations in the Arab world, such as linguistics and terminological studies. Supporting research and intellectual activity This year, it has also added a large number of scholarly dissertations by prominent academics, particularly in fields such as Islamic economics, in response to the growing demand for these vital sciences. In addition to its role in preserving heritage and disseminating Islamic culture, the library empowers researchers and those interested in knowledge by providing an ideal scientific environment that facilitates their access to valuable and diverse resources. This contributes to supporting research and intellectual activity at the local and international levels. Islamic Forum continues its 25th scientific session in Sharjah
Dr. Ibrahim provided students with a thoughtful and insightful explanation of Surah Yusuf, based on the interpretation of Imam Al-Baydawi, a leading figure in the rhetorical tradition. He examined the surah's meanings from spiritual, educational, and rhetorical perspectives, uncovering the miraculous elements of its narrative structure and highlighting its profound lessons on patience, reliance on God, optimism, and prophetic wisdom in overcoming challenges. Continued Strong Attendance In this context, the Islamic Forum in Sharjah continues to present lessons for the second week in an atmosphere of spiritual knowledge filled with tranquility and mercy. The first week had already witnessed wide attendance and strong engagement from students and those interested in Islamic studies within the community. Expanded Scholarly Themes It is noteworthy that the scholarly themes for this week continue to build on the outstanding topics introduced during the first week. The sessions started with the theme "Chapters on Transactions from the Book of Consensus and Differences of the Four Imams," delivered by Dr. Ahmed Al-Musoumi, who shed light on essential issues in financial jurisprudence based on the work of Imam Ibn Hubayrah. Hadith Studies Continue In the field of Hadith studies, Professor Dr. Abdul-Sami' Al-Anis continues to present "Mukhtasar Shu'ab Al-Iman" by Imam Al-Qazwini, providing analytical and educational interpretations of its hadiths. He highlights the profound role of the Prophetic tradition in shaping the character of Muslims and guiding their behavior. Applied Recitation Techniques Meanwhile, in Quranic recitations, Professor Hassan Al-Adawi provides a distinctive applied introduction by explaining selected verses from Al Shatibiyyah and Al Durrah Mudiyyah poems. He combines the establishment of theoretical rules with practical recitation on selected surahs, making this science more accessible and precise for students. Spirit-Filled Learning Environment The session's lessons are held daily from after Asr prayer until after Isha prayer, in an atmosphere rich with spiritual and intellectual serenity. The program offers a balanced scientific environment, linking academic formation, spiritual education, and the reinforcement of Islamic values.

Al Muntada Al Islami highlights methods for teaching Quran to kids
Objectives of the seminar This seminar is one of a series of targeted initiatives aimed at reviving Islamic educational methods and expanding their reach to include diverse community groups, particularly the youth, as children represent the foundation of society and the future of the nation. Target audience The scientific sessions will focus on specialists in Sharia sciences, individuals interested in teaching the Quran, parents, and those concerned with childhood issues. The first day's sessions will revolve around two key themes related to the upbringing of Muslim children: Theme one: The importance of teaching the Quran and its impact on children Dr. Hadi Hussein, a professor at Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities, will lead the first session, discussing the immense educational and spiritual value that the Quran offers children during their formative years. He will emphasize the importance of teaching the Quran from a young age to strengthen Islamic identity and form a moral and behavioral shield that protects children from ideological and behavioral deviations in a time of increasing cultural challenges. Theme two: Teaching the Quran to children: A historical perspective In the second session, Dr. Saleh Mohammed Al-Luhaibi, an associate professor at the University of Sharjah, will explore the historical stages of Quran education for children. This discussion will cover the transition from traditional schools that relied on rote memorization and wooden boards to the adoption of modern technological tools such as electronic applications and interactive learning. The session will propose innovative methods to balance authenticity and modernity in educational approaches to ensure engagement and comprehension among children. Cultural Agenda of the Muntada Al Islami The Islamic Forum dedicates a cultural agenda to support Islamic culture and organize these specialized seminars, underscoring the importance of raising community awareness about instilling religious values through the Quran and teaching the purified Sunnah. Role of Al Muntada Al Islami The Islamic Forum in Sharjah is a pioneering institution that has consistently organized lectures, courses, and seminars to enhance the status of the Quran in the lives of individuals and contribute to building a conscious and cohesive community, rooted in the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet, peace be upon him. Hajjah commemorates Sheikh Majd al-Din al-Muayyadi with cultural events across districts
Hajjah - Saba: Cultural events were held across several districts in Hajjah province to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of Sheikh Majd al-Din al-Muayyadi. In Abs District, the General Authority for Endowments and the Zakat Authority organized an event where Mohammed Aishan, Director of the Endowments Office, highlighted Sheikh al-Muayyadi's scientific contributions, including his teachings in religious sciences, Sharia, jurisprudence, and biography, and his extensive literary works. Ismail Bulayhi, Director of the Abs Office Branch, emphasized the importance of commemorating the scholar to revive his values and principles, and to draw inspiration from his legacy. Speakers highlighted Sheikh al-Muayyadi's role as a pioneer of the scientific renaissance and a renewer of Islamic religion. In al-Shahel District, the Endowments Office and Islamic Forum branch held a similar event. Officials from the Islamic Forum and the Scholars Unit stressed the importance of remembering those who dedicated themselves to guiding the nation with divine knowledge and the teachings of the Prophet's family. In Mabyan district, an event attended by Ibrahim al-Nuaimi, Deputy Director of the Endowments Authority Office, focused on Sheikh al-Muayyadi's jihadist biography. Speakers highlighted his role as a symbol of scholars who devoted their lives to enlightening the nation, correcting false ideologies, and spreading beneficial knowledge. These events across Hajjah Governorate collectively honored the legacy of Sheikh Majd al-Din al-Muayyadi, emphasizing his profound impact as a scholar, teacher, and guide.
