Hodeidah (Saba) – A team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited Hodeidah Port today to inspect the damage to its vital facilities as a result of the Israeli aggression and assess the technical and logistical readiness to receive humanitarian aid and essential supplies. During the visit, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the International Cooperation Sector, Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakel, the Head of the ICRC Delegation in Yemen, Christine Shibola, and the Deputy Head of the Delegation in Hodeidah Governorate, Makram Su, listened to an explanation from the Director of the Container Terminal, Captain Mohammed Al-Sayes, about the most significant damage to the infrastructure, particularly service facilities, and the resulting operational challenges. Sanaa - Saba A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana'a on Monday, May 19, 2025, to discuss mechanisms for activating the emergency and disaster operations room, attended by the Deputy Minister of International Cooperation, Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakel, Deputy Director of OCHA, Rosaria Bruno, and the Head of the Civil Defense Authority, Major General Ibrahim Al-Muayyad. The meeting discussed enhancing coordination between relevant parties and international organizations to ensure quick response to emergencies, especially in light of the repercussions of American and Israeli aggression and the increasing humanitarian challenges. Ambassador Al-Mutawakel emphasized the importance of activating the emergency room following the signing of the terms of reference agreement, calling for the preparation of a comprehensive action plan to address disasters resulting from aggression and climate change, praising the efforts of civil defense. For its part, OCHA confirmed its commitment to enhancing humanitarian coordination and supporting response capabilities, while the head of the Civil Defense Authority called for the development of operational mechanisms and overcoming confusion resulting from weak coordination, pointing to training programs that have contributed to increasing community readiness. Sana'a (Saba) – Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakel, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation, accompanied by the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Julien Harneis, visited Sana'a International Airport today.
