The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring scattered rains over parts of Luzon on Sunday, PAGASA said.
Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.
This LPA, whose trough or extension is affecting the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon, is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), PAGASA weather specialist Veronica Torres said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday morning.
"Mababa ang tsansa nito na maging bagyo at mababa rin ang tsansa nitong pumasok ng PAR," she said.
(It has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression and its chance of entering PAR is also low.)
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon is affecting the western part of Southern Luzon.
Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Habagat. Flash floods or landslides may possibly result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of the country on the other hand will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.
Coastal waters will be moderate in the western section of Luzon, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.
