Chaava and Jaat actor Viineet Kumar Singh: Lucknow has been important for my career
Actor Viineet Kumar Singh has shot extensively in Lucknow and his home state Uttar Pradesh. Last seen in Chhaava and Jaat, the actor has a strong connection with the state capital. 'While Varanasi is my janmabhoomi and Mumbai is my karmabhoomi, Lucknow, too, has a been really important for my upbringing. 'My first memory of moving out of Varanasi was coming to Lucknow. I came here as a mini (under 12) to play basketball at the KD Singh Babu Stadium. Big cars, tall buildings, big showrooms were all novelty for me. Then, there used to be Nixon Market near the stadium, which sold foreign goods at economical prices, where I shopped. So, whenever I get time during shoots, I go to the stadium for a while, take a stroll in the erstwhile basketball court and relive my memories. Bachpan se hi lagaav raha hai Lucknow se,' he says. The actor recalls, 'Later, I came here for a 21-day camp. I remember buying a purse for mummy, a T-shirt for papa and things related to sports for my brother and sisters. I spent all my money buying gifts for them. These are very fond and strong memories.' 'Rangbaaz (2022), my most successful OTT show so far, was shot entirely in Lucknow and Sitapur. Besides Bareilly and Varanasi, a portion of Mukkabaaz (2018) was also shot here. I extensively shot for Sudhir Mishra's DaasDev (2018) here, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020), and Match Fixing, which released earlier this year,' he says. Viineet adds, 'If we move bit further, Gangs of Wasseypur was 90% shot in Varanasi. My next with Anurag (Kashyap, director) sir Nishanchi has been extensively shot here in two schedules (the movie is in two parts). Lucknow is a very shoot-friendly place. Since I am also a writer, I make sure that all my stories have my state in some way or another. Kaafi yogdaan raha hai iss shehar ka meri journey mein.'

Box Office: Can Housefull 5 be the next big hit movie for Bollywood after Raid 2?
Bollywood box office has been in a pretty good shape since April 2025. The industry has had two decent theatrical performers in the form of Jaat and Kesari 2 and a big hit in the form of Raid 2. Jaat netted Rs 85 crore while Kesari 2 is about to end its run in the vicinity of Rs 90.50 crore. Raid 2 is sure to collect over Rs 160 crore in its full run. The new release Bhool Chuk Maaf is running in theatres and it is doing better than what most people expected. The verdict shall be known in a few days but there is no denying that it has exceeded industry expectations. Now, all eyes are on Housefull 5. In the post-pandemic setting where sequels are overperforming at the box office, it is expected that Housefull 5 will also create a big box office splash. The trailer of Housefull 5 looks grand and on top of that, it has a lot of what the audiences enjoyed watching in the first 4 films of the franchise. If the movie clicks with the lovers of the franchise, it is sure to emerge as the 2nd highest grosser of the year so far, only behind Chhaava. Every film of the Housefull franchise has been a hit or a superhit at the box office. There have been instances when the reviews were not entirely positive but the franchise factor, along with the ensemble cast helped the film sail through. The loyal audiences of the franchise need to turn up for Housefull 5 so that more movies of the franchise can be made. Housefull movies are difficult to execute because they have a lot of actors to take care of. And there is no denying that these films are really very expensive too and so the theatrical recoveries have to be solid, along with the already strong non-theatrical recoveries courtesy the brand of the franchise and obviously the reputation of Nadiadwala and Grandsons. Housefull 5's X-factor is that it is pitched as a murder-comedy on a cruise. In the trailer launch, producer Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed that there are two different climaxes with two different killers and that has added to the intrigue for the film. But let's be honest. No one really cares about the killer and everyone is in it for the comedy. It has been a while since a proper slapstick comedy was made at this scale for Bollywood. The advance bookings for Housefull 5 begin over the weekend. How excited are you for the 5th installment of the loved franchise?

‘Not everyone's cup of tea': Urvashi Rautela slams trolls over ‘Aishwarya Rai with 0 charisma' remark for Cannes looks
Bollywood actor Urvashi Rautela in a long post, gave it back to those who have been comparing her Michael Cinco dress with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 2018 Cannes look. She shared screenshots of comments where people accused her of "trying to be Aishwarya Rai with 0 charisma.' Urvashi Rautela said, 'So apparently I'm 'trying to be Aishwarya Rai with 0 charisma'? Darling... Aishwarya is iconic. But I'm not here to be anyone's duplicate. I'm the blueprint." She continued, 'Cannes didn't invite me to blend in, I came to stand out. If my look, my style, or my confidence makes you uncomfortable... maybe take a deep breath (or two). I'm not everyone's cup of tea - I'm more like champagne with fireworks.' 'And charisma? Sweetheart, if you could measure it, I'd break the scale. To all the keyboard critics – keep talking. To all the queens owning their space - keep slaying,' she added and signed off as: 'To myself - keep shining, because no one does it like you." Urvashi also reacted to claims of blocking the stairways of a hotel at the Film Festival for pictures. In a different post, she slammed Diet Sabya who claimed that the actor allegedly blocked the staircase for her photoshoot. She called Diet Sabya 'a cheap imitation of Diet Prada', lacking "even an ounce of originality'. The actress dismissed the claims saying, 'I rise with unyielding strength against the cowardly lies of Diet Sabya, a faceless page that dares to falsely claim I blocked a staircase. Let the truth reign: my team secured full permission for a photoshoot on a designated staircase, as did others, in strict adherence to every rule of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, which I honour with unwavering respect.' "Their (Diet Sabya's) baseless narratives target those, like me, who elevate India's pride on the global stage. I have blocked and reported this irrelevant entity, and I call on all to dismiss their envious slander.' 'My charisma, forged through relentless dedication and international acclaim, remains untouchable. No one not Diet Sabya, nor their petty lies can dim the light of Urvashi Rautela, a force that leads and inspires. No matter how hard you troll me we will never pay you like others #paidtrolls With unbreakable resolve, Urvashi Rautela,' she further said. On the work front, Urvashi Rautela was last seen in Sunny Deol's Jaat. She featured in a special dance number, Touch Kiya. She will be starring next in Welcome To The Jungle and Kasoor 2.
