Dakhliyah inks 5 investment deals worth RO11mn
Muscat – The Governorate of Dakhliyah signed five new investment agreements on Friday with Omani companies to implement development projects in the wilayats of Jabal Akhdar and Bahla with a combined investment value of RO11mn. Covering an area of more than 60,000sqm and investment durations ranging from 15 to 50 years, the projects aim to promote economic diversification and enhance tourism and service infrastructure in the mountainous region. Among the agreements is a major integrated commercial complex in the Hail al Yemen area of Jabal Akhdar. The RO7.8mn project, to be executed by Smart Supply International, will include a three-star hotel, educational park, entertainment centre and commercial market. Additional projects include implementation of a 3D-printed open field initiative in Saih Qatna, development of Da'an al Busaiteen Park, operations of Saih Qatna Park and establishment of an integrated tourist park in Bahla. The Investment and Planning Department in Dakhliyah said the agreements mark a new phase of structured investment targeting projects that respect the natural environment while supporting economic and social development. The agreements were signed on the sidelines of the Jabal Akhdar Media Forum, held in cooperation with Oman Journalists Association, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and University of Nizwa. More than 70 journalists and media professionals attended the event, which aimed to highlight ongoing development in the governorate and provide a transparent view of investment initiatives. Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed al Hajri, Governor of Dakhliyah, said the projects reflect a strategic direction to build a development environment aligned with the geography and economic potential of the governorate.

Jabal Akhdar Festival 2025 and Media Forum to open on Friday
Jabal Akhdar – The opening of Jabal Akhdar Festival 2025 and the Jabal Akhdar Media Forum will be held on Friday as part of efforts to promote tourism in the wilayat and increase media engagement in support of development goals. The opening ceremony will be held at Celebration Square of Saih Qatna under the patronage of Sheikh Sabaa bin Hamdan al Saadi, Secretary-General of National Celebrations, in the presence of Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed al Hajri, Governor of Dakhliyah. The two events reflect Dakhliyah's broader strategy to integrate government, community and media efforts in highli-ghting investment opportunities and development progress, in line with Oman Vision 2040. The festival will run till August 30, offering cultural evenings, drone and laser shows, family activities and an open market featuring 65 small and medium-sized enterprises and ten local farmers. It will also generate 60 temporary jobs in logistics and event management. The press forum will bring together more than 70 journalists from across Oman for a programme that includes a discussion session with the governor, visual presentations on key projects, and site visits to tourism and infrastructure developments, including the archaeological village of Al Sogara. Officials said the two events aim to raise the profile of Jabal Akhdar as a model for sustainable mountain tourism and development. More than RO4.5mn worth of projects are currently underway in the wilayat, including roads, public facilities and service upgrades.
