KUWAIT CITY, May 21: The Kuwait Club volleyball team capped off a dominant 2024-2025 season by securing a remarkable "triple" crown, winning the Federation Cup for the 19th time in its history at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex Hall, Kuwait Club defeated Al-Qadsia 3-1, while Kazma secured third place after overcoming Al-Shabab by the same score line. The "Dean" had already claimed the Super Cup and the Premier League title earlier in the season, confirming their superiority and consistency throughout the year. With three major titles under their belt, the "Whites" proved to be the undisputed champions of the season. Meanwhile, Kazma opened the season by winning the Federation Championship, and Sulaibikhat took top honors in the First Division Championship. Kuwait Club further extended its record as the most decorated team in domestic volleyball with 19 Federation Cup titles, followed by Qadsia (18), Kazma (14), Al-Arabi (7), and Al-Jahra (1). Kuwait Club President Khaled Al-Ghanim expressed his pride in the team's accomplishments, praising the players, coaching staff, and administrative team for their dedication. "This third title is a reward for the great efforts put in throughout the season," he said. "I also extend my appreciation to the Volleyball Federation for its excellent organization and support that helped elevate the competition." Al-Ghanim also commended the Volleyball Federation Board, led by Dr. Jaber Al-Marri, for its pivotal role in the season's success. Team captain Abdullah Jassim echoed the sentiments, expressing joy at clinching the Federation Cup: "This third title reflects the spirit of unity within our club—management, staff, and players all worked together to achieve our goals." Kuwait Volleyball Association President Dr. Jaber Al-Marri celebrated the successful conclusion of the season, emphasizing the high level of technical and organizational standards seen throughout. "This was a truly successful season in every sense—from the quality of play in all three major championships to the smooth organization by our committees." He extended congratulations to Kuwait Club for winning the General League and Federation Cup, to Kazma for the Federation Championship, and Sulaibikhat for its First Division title.

KUWAIT: Kuwait Volleyball Club was crowned Tuesday, the Premier League Volleyball Championship for the current sports season 2024/2025 for the 15th time in its history after beating Burgan with three clean sets in the final round of the championship, at the Kuwait Volleyball Federation Hall at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. The first half witnessed a strong challenge as Burgan was able to match Kuwait with the result to end in favor of Kuwait (25-23), and in the second half, Kuwait continued its superiority and came out victorious (25-19), and Kuwait completed its superiority overall by winning the third half (25-22) to win the match by three innings without compensation. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Dr Jaber Al-Marri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federation, praised the level of the Kuwait Volleyball League this season and the competition between many teams, which gives optimism for a new season coming strongly, expressing his hope that the fans will come to support their teams in the game. Al-Marri said that the competition this season was not normal, as teams such as Al-Qadisiya, Al-Arabi and Kazma tried until the last meters to win the league title, which makes it a special season at the technical and competitive levels, hoping that the teams will continue these levels until the next period because of the local cup competitions, which adds more enthusiasm and shows Kuwaiti volleyball at its usual level. He emphasized that the high level of the league with its players reflects on the national team and thus the performance of the level of the national team automatically increases, expressing his thanks to the General Sports Authority, represented by the Acting Director of the Authority, Bashar Abdullah, for all the support that the federation has received. Kuwait won the first match of the final round last Friday against Burgan with a score of (3-0) after winning in 3 innings (17-25), (11-25) and (19-25) without compensation, and according to the regulations and rules of the league, the final match is played in 3 stages, and after Kuwait guaranteed to win two stages, thus ensuring that the title is decided in its favor. Earlier today, Al-Arabi Club managed to beat Kazma with a score of (3-1), as Al-Arabi won 3 innings (25-21), (22-25) and (22-25), while Kazma got only one innings with a score of (21-25) to ensure that Al-Arabi secured the third place in the league. It is noteworthy that Al-Qadisiya holds the record for the number of times winning the Kuwaiti Premier Volleyball League with 23 titles, followed by Kuwait and Kazma with 15 titles each, Al-Arabi 4 times and Jahra only once. - KUNA

Kuwait Club secured the title after defeating Burgan Club 3-0 in the second match of the playoff semifinals, held at Union Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. Burgan Club celebrated a historic runner-up finish—the highest in its volleyball history—while Al-Arabi Club took third place with a 3-1 win over Kazma. According to league regulations, the Premier League champion is determined in a best-of-three playoff series. Kuwait Club secured the title early by winning both matches 3-0, making a third game unnecessary. Following the final, Dr. Jaber Al-Marri, President of the Kuwait Volleyball Association, along with Association members, Burgan Club President Anwar Al-Otaibi, and Kuwait Club representatives, crowned the top three teams. KUWAIT CITY, May 13: Saad Ennad, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sulaibikhat Club, expressed his pride and joy following the first volleyball team's triumph in clinching the First Division League title. The "Red North" dramatically secured the championship, edging out Al-Nasr 3-2 in a thrilling final-round clash held at the Federation Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. In the same round, Al-Sahel defeated Al-Tadamon 3-2. Sulaibikhat topped the league standings with 21 points, followed by Al-Nasr with 19. Al-Yarmouk placed third with 11 points, Al-Sahel came fourth with 8, and Al-Tadamon finished without any points. The league's closing ceremony was attended by prominent sports figures, including Kuwait Volleyball Federation President Dr. Jaber Al-Marri, Assistant Secretary Nayef Al-Khamili, Sulaibikhat Club President Saad Ennad, Club Secretary Nasser Mansi, and Al-Nasr Club President Khaled Al-Sharida. Ennad praised his players' fighting spirit, describing it as a trademark of the Sulaibikhat squad. KUWAIT CITY, May 1: The "Golden Square" stage of the Premier Volleyball League kicks off today at the Volleyball Federation Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. Defending champion Kuwait Club will face Kazma in the opening match at 5:00 pm, followed by Burgan vs. Al-Arabi at 7:00 pm. This decisive phase of the league follows a best-of-three playoff format. Kuwait Club, who topped the standings with 13 points, will take on fourth-placed Kazma, while second-placed Burgan (11 points) will battle third-placed Al-Arabi (9 points). Kazma also finished the regular season with nine points but ranked fourth due to a tiebreaker. The first teams to win two matches in their respective series will qualify for the Premier League final, which will follow the same best-of-three format. In a separate highlight, Kazma clinched the Under-19 League title after finishing with 61 points and a superior win record. Al-Arabi claimed third place, while Al-Qadsiya finished as runners-up with 52 points. To commemorate the achievement, President of the Volleyball Federation Dr. Jaber Al-Marri, along with Board Member Nayef Al-Fulaikawi, Federation Competitions Committee Chairman Dr. Jaber Al-Sharif, Kazma Volleyball Director Khaled Al-Bahou, and head coach Saad Yaqoub, presented the U-19 League trophy to the Kazma team captain.
