Trichy GH gets new medical equipment worth ` 98L
Trichy: In a boost to patient care and medical infrastructure at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Govt Hospital (MGMGH) in Trichy, the hospital has received medical equipment worth Rs 98.44 lakh. The new equipment includes an echocardiogram (echo) machine with probes for adult, paediatric, and neonatal patients; an electromagnetic stimulation therapy device; and a combined ultrasonic therapy unit. The echocardiogram is used to examine the structure of the heart and surrounding blood vessels, assess blood flow, and evaluate the heart's chambers. Nearly 200 patients daily visit the cardiology department in the hospital from Trichy and neighbouring districts. The orthopaedic block will use the electromagnetic stimulation therapy device to treat musculoskeletal conditions by stimulating the healing process and reducing inflammation. "It can help with fractures, stiffness and chronic pain conditions. The equipment, installed in the hospital for the first time, was donated by the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), Chennai, under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. District collector M Pradeep Kumar inaugurated the devices on Friday. CWC executive director (south) Jacintha Lawrence and MGMGH medical superintendent Udhaya Aruna were present.

New equipment commissioned at Tiruchi GH
District Collector M. Pradeep Kumar inaugurated new equipment worth ₹98.40 lakh at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) in Tiruchi on Friday. In an official release, hospital authorities said that the new tools were an echocardiogram (ECG) with adult, paediatric and neonatal probe; a pulsed electro-magnetic stimulation therapy device, and a combined ultrasonic therapy tool for all types of pain. The machines are sponsored by the Corporate Social Responsibility funds of Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), Chennai The new equipment would be useful in treating cardiac patients, newborns and mothers, and augment the healing of fractures, besides aiding pain relief, said the release. At present, the Cardiology department receives at least 200 patients for ECG services. The instruments were launched by the Collector in the presence of Jacintha Lawrence, CWC executive director (South), S. Kumarvel, Dean, K.A.P.V. Government Medical College, MGMGH medical superintendent Udhaya Aruna and deputy superintendent Arun Raj.
