Alabama football lands transfer portal commitment from former Big 12 tight end

Alabama football lands transfer portal commitment from former Big 12 tight end The Alabama Crimson Tide landed their first commitment of the spring football transfer portal Wednesday night, as former West Virginia tight end Jack Sammarco announced that he would be taking his talents to Tuscaloosa for the 2025 season. Sammarco is transfer addition No. 11 for Alabama so far this offseason, as well as the second tight end alongside Peter Knudson (Weber State). Having entered the transfer portal nearly a week ago, Sammarco is coming off a 2024 true freshman season at West Virginia in which he saw time with the Mountaineers, hauling in one reception for four yards. Sammarco also played on special teams as well, returning a kickoff for five yards. Prior to West Virginia, Sammarco was a member of the Mountaineers' 2024 recruiting class where the tight end was considered a three-star prospect out of Anderson High School in Ohio. There, Sammarco ranked as the No. 1,475 overall player in the class according to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, as well as the No. 74 tight end and No. 61 player in the state of Ohio. Sammarco now joins a 2025 Alabama tight end room that features Josh Cuevas, Danny Lewis Jr., Knudson, Kaleb Edwards, Marshall Pritchett, Jay Lindsey, and Jayden Hobson.
