Janet Jackson Honors Late Brother Michael Jackson By Pausing Biopic Talks

Fans won't be getting a biopic or any projects related to Janet Jackson's life and illustrious career until the release of her late brother Michael Jackson's movie. The sensational singer reportedly halted all offers about depicting her life on the big screen, stressing the importance of letting the King of Pop enjoy the spotlight before her. Her decision is also tied to allowing her family to focus solely on her late brother and relive their favorite memories. Janet Jackson is notably known for her close relationship with Michael Jackson. Like her older brother, she rose to fame for her undeniable talents, breaking gender and racial barriers in the music industry. Janet has recently received lucrative offers to tell her story as a musical biopic or a TV documentary, according to a source. However, the singer halted all discussions about these potential projects to honor her late brother's memory by waiting for his biopic debut. "Janet is holding off on any career retrospective project of her own for the time being out of respect for the rest of her family," the source explained. They noted the singer did not want to steal the spotlight from her brother or loved ones, "including her niece and nephews, who control Michael Jackson's estate." The list extended to Janet's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, the son of her older brother Jermaine Jackson, who stars as Michael in the biopic. Halting offers for her biopic ensured her nephew could fully enjoy the spotlight as the upcoming film marked his acting debut and his first time as a leading man, per In Touch. The upcoming film, "Michael," is directed by Antoine Fuqua, and it explores the life and tragic end of the beloved singer. Reports noted the movie had the full permission of his estate and covered significant details from the late entertainer's life, with the biopic's synopsis stating it detailed events: "From his childhood of being the star of the Jackson 5, through times of abuse by his father Joe Jackson, to his hit 'Thriller,' and the purchase of Neverland Valley, into his tragic and unsuspected death on June 25, 2009." The source added that the whole Jackson family came together to ensure the movie becomes a success, stressing that they wished to showcase Michael's true story without the gossip. "The effort everybody in the extended family has put into getting [the biopic] Michael off the ground — it's truly been a group effort," the insider claimed. Michael's musical biopic comes after multiple successful projects like Austin Butler's 2022 hit "Elvis" and Timothée Chalamet's role as Bob Dylan in the recent film "A Complete Unknown." The source noted these critically acclaimed works made the Jackson family hopeful for the "Thriller" hitmaker's project. The insider noted the late singer's sister especially wanted his biopic to succeed as it would pave the path for her. "Janet, like everybody else, is extremely curious about how it's all going to turn out. She's not making any decisions about how she will portray her own legacy until the fate of the Michael movie is determined," they explained, adding: "That said, Janet knows she has an amazing personal and professional story to tell that is totally different from her late brother's. From her unlikely breakthrough in the late eighties to her three marriages, to 'nipple gate,' Janet has had a crazy career and made music that went around the world." Sensational actress Nia Long, famous for her success in Black cinema, joined the cast for "Michael" in 2024. The Blast covered the story, reporting she would embody the role of the Jackson family's matriarch, Katherine Jackson, in the upcoming biopic. Lionsgate Productions confirmed Long joined the cast in a statement hailing the matriarch's impact on the family. "Katherine Jackson is an incredible pillar of strength and grace for the entire Jackson family," they wrote. Director Fuqua echoed similar sentiments about Long, saying: "Nia has delivered iconic performances throughout her career. I've been a fan for a long time because her characters stay with you. I'm excited to now work alongside her as she pours all of that into Katherine Jackson." Although the upcoming biopic scored a star-studded cast with Long and Colman Domingo playing the Jackson family's heads, it faced an unexpected hiccup. The movie depicting Michael's life and career was set to be released in October, but sources shared a different narrative. According to a Variety report, movie powerhouses Lionsgate and Universal Pictures would likely postpone the premiere of the biopic. The reason stemmed from the possible splitting of the movie into two parts. The project initially wrapped up its principal photography in May 2024, but John Logan's script was reportedly in the works for a revision. Additionally, reshoots might be scheduled to fit the biopic's split into two movies, but concrete details have not been confirmed. Michael's biopic roughly carries a $155 million budget, with stars like Miles Teller, Larenz Tate, and Kat Graham scoring roles in the project. Will Michael Jackson's upcoming biopic be a success like Janet Jackson hopes?

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's Son Has a Surprising Career Ambition

A lot of children of famous people inevitably end up following in the footsteps of their parents. A lot of it has to do with opportunities within the industries they've worked in all their lives, while other times the kids just fall in love with the family business. However, for Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, it seems like their oldest son has a surprisingly different take on things. Related: People Think Iconic Britney Spears Song Might Actually Be About Aborted Baby Biel was chatting with E! News while promoting her new movie The Better Sister when she let the family news slip. The moment came after reporters asked if her kids were keen on entering the entertainment industry like their parents. "My older one definitely has some interest in acting and music," Biel said. "He's just getting that kind of confidence, and like, kind of his own attitude is coming out." And what's his big interest? Spinning tunes, of course. "He DJ'ed his own 10th birthday party — he was working his party, and it was so fun, Biel continued. "He mixes things from Jackson 5 to Justin, I mean, old school stuff, doo-wop stuff — I mean everything." It's interesting that her oldest son would be interested in this role, since mom and dad have worked really hard to give him and his brother some privacy as they grow up. Both Biel and Timberlake have gone through great efforts to keep their sons Silas and Phineas from becoming paparazzi fodder, and they even shield their faces whenever they post family photos on social media. Maybe this means that Silas has had enough privacy to figure out what he likes on his own, giving him an opportunity to figure out whether he'd be comfortable getting up in front of crowds to spin records. Fortunately, at just 10-years-old, the pre-teen has plenty of time to figure things out on his own. And, who knows, he may still decide to go into the family business after all! Up Next:

Taylor Zakhar Perez Spills on 'Red, White & Royal Blue' Sequel

Justin French Coat, shirt, Balmain. For decades, families with talented children have come together to jam out, whether on the global stage, like the Jackson 5 or Haim, or in a more humble manner, like Taylor Zakhar Perez's family of 10. Surrounded by the barn cats that roamed the family's property, Zakhar Perez and his siblings would put on sing-alongs, playing classic tracks from movies or sketch comedy shows. He would play the piano, his sister the violin, and his brother the guitar. With this, Zakhar Perez says, his hunger to perform began: 'It was something I couldn't shake off.' While Zakhar Perez's parents encouraged his artistic bent, he took his own route to Hollywood. His parents ran an auto body shop, while his mother took acting classes on the side. He didn't have any connections in the industry or a breakout childhood role; he had to build his résumé brick by brick. 'Hollywood loves to put people in a box,' he says. 'If you do one thing successfully, then they want you just to do it over, and over, and over again. And so I've been really conscious with my team of making choices that keep me evolving rather than getting typecast.' Zakhar Perez's fight to make it began when he turned down a swimming scholarship at Fordham University to attend UCLA. An excellent swimmer in high school, he took a risk in coming to Los Angeles, pivoting from what had long seemed to be his plan. 'It's an industry where people are always looking for validation, and I think I just had to say, 'I believe in myself, and I can do this, and I'm going to do this,'' he says. 'I just had complete and utter belief.' After starring in smaller 'hot guy' roles in television shows, he earned his first big gig in The Kissing Booth 2 on Netflix, costarring with Jacob Elordi and Joey King. He reappeared in the franchise's third film, and then the HBO series Minx . But the cosmos shifted and his career reached a whole other level when he landed the role of Alex Claremont-Diaz in the Prime Video adaptation of Casey McQuiston's novel Red, White & Royal Blue . Zakhar Perez starred as the son of the president of the United States, who falls in love with a prince of England, played by Nicholas Galitzine. Justin French Sweater, shirt, Gucci. The steamy novel is beloved as one of the first big breakout queer romantic comedies, and gained a rabid community on BookTok. 'I read the book when I had the first meeting...I had no idea what it was,' he says. 'People were like, 'This is huge on TikTok. People are talking about this,' and I said, 'Okay, I'm not on there.' I mean, I have videos, but I haven't posted in so long, because it's just this endless pit of entertainment.' 'I want a career that I'm proud of, not one that just checks all the right boxes.' The frenzy began well before the movie premiered; after Zakhar Perez was cast as Alex, fans began stitching together clips of his and Galitzine's past roles to form a love story. 'I travel around the world quite I have never been stopped more than I was for that film,' he says. 'People lined up outside of a hotel in Paris to get a picture, because they loved Alex Claremont-Diaz so much. That speaks volumes about what these two characters mean to those who watch it.' He notes that the story was especially impactful among the Latin and queer communities. 'I'm very particular about projects I do, because I want to do films and TV that have something [to say]. Being able to do a romantic comedy that fit that bill was really special,' he says. 'People in their 60s and 70s tell wish they had this kind of movie when they were younger. So this isn't a project I take for granted.' Justin French Coat, shirt, Balmain. Trousers, Dsquared2. Watch, Cartier. Socks, Falke. Loafers, Ferragamo. Red, White & Royal Blue was released on Prime without the planned press tour, because of the SAG-AFTRA strike, but it nevertheless shot to number one and stayed there for three weeks. According to Amazon, it is still one of their top three most-viewed romantic comedies. Now, two years later, a sequel is on the horizon. Both Zakhar Perez and Galitzine are set to return, but by design, he knows next to nothing about the project so far. 'I purposefully said, 'Please do not share with me anything until we are ready to prep it, because I want plausible deniability,'' Zakhar Perez jokes. 'I have not read a script, but I hear it's very good.' Meanwhile, he's also been dipping a toe in the fashion world, sitting in the front row during fashion weeks and recently starring in a viral Lacoste underwear campaign (for those wondering, he spends about an hour in the gym a day, seldom drinks, and thinks twice about the food he puts in his body). Moving forward in his career, he plans on being selective with his projects, hopes to experiment in other film genres, and has plans to foray behind the camera. 'I just got the life rights to somebody that I'm very excited about. I'm flexing a different muscle,' he says. 'I want a career that I'm proud of, not one that just checks all the right boxes.' The new phrase for my 4-year-old is, 'Mom, you have the worst ideas. You have the worst ideas,' " says Biel. 'Oh, watch it, buddy,' replies Fallon, asking, 'He's 4-years-old?' 'I'm like, we're already there? And Silas is like, 'Don't engage Mom. Back up off the field,' " says the mom of two. "Like he's playing baseball now. He's like, 'Don't say anything. Back up.' I'm like, I just said good job! Like, say nothing. Say nothing.' Earlier this week, Biel spoke with E! News and was asked if either of her sons has any interest in their parents' careers. 'Yeah, my older one definitely has some interest in acting and music. He's just getting that kind of confidence and kind of his own attitude is coming out," Biel said of Silas. "He's an aspiring DJ and DJ'd his own 10th birthday party.' 'He was working his party, and it was so fun. He mixes things from Jackson 5 to Justin to old school stuff, doo-wop stuff, I mean everything," added the proud mom. Read the original article on People

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's son wants to be a DJ

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's son is already "an aspiring DJ". The 43-year-old actress and 44-year-old singer have sons Silas, 10, and Phineas, four, together and she admitted their eldest boy is already showing signs he could follow in his famous parents' footsteps with a career in the arts. She told E! News: "My older one definitely has some interest in acting and music. He's just getting that kinda confidence, his own attitude is coming out. "He's an aspiring DJ, he DJ'd his own 10th birthday party. He was working his party, and it was so fun. "He mixes things from Jackson 5 to Justin, old school stuff, doo-wop stuff, everything." However, she insisted she hasn't been showing her kids any of her own work. She quipped: "My kids have seen nothing. If their friends are seeing my stuff, their parents should be fired. They shouldn't be watching this stuff!" Jessica and Justin - who married in 2012 - have always sought to keep their kids out of the public eye, although they have made occasional appearances in public. She recently told InStyle magazine: "It's scary every time. But it's also their life. And so it's this really tricky, tricky thing to figure out, what's appropriate.' The actress stressed despite the occasional public outing, she remains firmly against introducing her sons to social media. As for any future in the entertainment industry, Jessica hopes they'll wait until adulthood. She said about Silas: 'If he was a kid actor, he'd probably work all the time. 'And when you're 18 years old, you want to be a professional? Have at it. That's your choice. That's what I would like to hold on to, if possible, for him, you know?' The actor also spoke about the pressure of raising a family in the public eye, noting privacy was one reason the family relocated from the West Coast. She told the 'Let's Talk Off Camera' podcast in 2024: 'We get hammered (by the paparazzi) in the West Coast. That's why we don't live there anymore to try and create some normalcy. 'No disrespect to anyone who feels comfortable doing that – that's just our family choice. 'Maybe it's a mistake. I don't know.'
