49ers predicted to trade No. 1 WR during training camp
While the 2025 NFL season is still a bit away, the San Francisco 49ers have fully reported for training camp with their first practice set to take place at their SAP Performance Facility on Wednesday in Santa Clara, California. However, the group of players that the 49ers enter camp with won't be the same as the one they will play with in Week 1. There will be more cuts, signings and trades that will change the trajectory of their season over the next few weeks. Interestingly, Pro Football and Sports Network's Jacob Infante recently predicted San Francisco will make a major trade during training camp and send Jauan Jennings elsewhere. "Amidst rumors that Jauan Jennings wants a new contract before his current deal expires in 2026, the San Francisco 49ers find themselves in a tight spot," Infante said. "They have the likes of Brock Purdy, Nick Bosa, Brandon Aiyuk, and Fred Warner on massive long-term deals. They could find themselves fielding trade offers if they aren't willing to pay Jennings what he wants." Jennings, 28, has caught 155 passes for 1,938 yards and 13 touchdowns in his four-year career, including an impressive 77-catch, 975-yard and six-touchdown season in 2024. He's entering the final year of a two-year, $11.89 million extension that he signed last May, so he's looking for more long-term security. San Francisco needs help at wide receiver with Deebo Samuel traded to the Washington Commanders earlier this offseason and Brandon Aiyuk likely missing the start of the 2025 season while recovering from a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus. Moving on from Jennings could really impact the 49ers offense and their chances of making it back to the article originally appeared on Niners Wire: 49ers predicted to trade Jauan Jennings before the 2025 season

NFL analyst lays out worst-case scenario for Falcons in 2025
Pro Football Sports Network broke down the worst-cast scenario for each team in 2025 The Atlanta Falcons ended the 2024 season on a bittersweet note. While it was encouraging to see Michael Penix Jr. play well in his first few starts, it felt like the team missed a chance to finally get back into the playoffs. After a painfully long offseason, the Falcons are close to taking the field for their second official training camp of the Raheem Morris era. With 10 of 11 offensive starters set to return, the team should rely heavily on its offense in 2025. The Falcons defense has a lot to prove, though. Fans are rightfully excited about first-round picks Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr., but there should be an adjustment period with so many new faces and Jeff Ulbrich taking over as defensive coordinator. Obviously, Atlanta wants to return to the postseason, but what is the team's worst-case scenario in 2025? PFSN Analyst Jacob Infante looked attempted to project the floor of each NFL team. The Falcons' worst-case scenario record for the 2025 season was 6-11: Michael Penix Jr. takes the reins as quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons after Kirk Cousins followed up a 6-3 start by going 1-4 in the final five games before he got benched. That collapse can be attributed to poor quarterback play, but it's also a team game at the end of the day. -- Jacob Infante, PFSN While a six-win season would certainly be a disappointment, Atlanta's projected floor is higher than two of three NFC South rivals. The Carolina Panthers' worst-case scenario was 4-13, while the New Orleans Saints had the lowest projected floor at 2-15. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the top-ranked team in the division with a worst-case projection of 7-10. The Falcons clearly have more question marks than the Buccaneers, but they seem to be miles ahead of the Saints. Even in tightly contested division like the NFC South, the Falcons are facing a decent amount of pressure to finally take that next step in 2025. Players officially report for training camp on July 23, with the team's first practice coming on July 24. Who is Jacksonville Jaguars' top candidate to win Defensive Player of the Year?
Who is considered the Jaguars' top Defensive Player of the Year candidate for the 2025 NFL season? PFN recently weighed in. Who is considered the Jacksonville Jaguars' top Defensive Player of the Year candidate for the 2025 NFL season? Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network recently selected who he believes the top candidate is for each team. When it came to the Jaguars, defensive end Josh Hines-Allen was the pick. "The Jacksonville Jaguars rely heavily on Hines-Allen to get to the quarterback, as he's the fifth-highest-paid edge rusher in the NFL," wrote Infante. "If he bounces back to double digits (sacks), he'll generate plenty of league-wide attention." Hines-Allen was still quite productive last season. His 63 quarterback pressures were the 10th-most among defensive ends, and he ranked 16th in PFF's pass rush win rate. However, in comparison to his 2023 season, Hines-Allen's production took a step backward this past year, after he totaled 90 pressures and 19 sacks in 2023, ranking in the top five in both categories. Very much of note, former defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen had Hines-Allen and several other defenders put on weight last season. As Hines-Allen recalled during offseason programs recently, he was playing at 285 pounds in 2024, which came with "a little more wear and tear" on his body, as he put it. But this year, Liam Coen and Anthony Campanile wanted Hines-Allen--and others--back at his more natural playing weight. "I was 285," Hines-Allen said of his playing weight last season. "I was much bigger. My mindset was always to be as dominant but it was, obviously, holding a little bit more weight puts a little more wear and tear on the body. "It was a lot. Too much. Again, learned to adapt, have know what works best for you, something I tried, and something I'm like, alright, probably don't want to do that again. So we're working on maintaining a good goal for me this year and put some good tape out there." At a comfortable weight and in a more attacking defensive scheme under Campanile, the Defensive Player of the Year award and a few other accolades are what Hines-Allen is chasing. "To break the sack record," said Hines-Allen when asked what his goals were. "Be an All-Pro and win Defensive Player of the Year."
