Khalayleh: The Ambition of the Social Security Corporation Is to Cover All Workers Under Its Protection - Jordan News

The Acting Director General of the Social Security Corporation (SSC), Dr. Jadallah Khalayleh, affirmed that the institution's ultimate goal is to include all workers in Jordan under its umbrella, thereby strengthening social security and empowering the working and lower-income classes. He stressed that it is no longer acceptable for any worker in the Kingdom to remain outside the scope of social protection, and that the SSC places at the top of its priorities the inclusion of all members of the labor force in Jordan under the social security system, as social security is a fundamental pillar of protection and an inherent right for all workers in the country. اضافة اعلان Khalayleh explained that the SSC is currently conducting a series of awareness campaigns targeting establishments that evade enrolling their workers in the system. He emphasized that the social security system is comprehensive by nature, offering protection to all eligible groups regardless of gender or nationality. This ensures access to various types of retirement pensions and other insurance benefits, including work injury compensation, unemployment benefits, and maternity allowances. He warned that insurance evasion has serious consequences on society and negatively impacts social and economic security, as it hinders the state's ability to achieve its economic and social objectives. He also noted that the SSC conducts regular inspections of workplaces to ensure that unregistered employees are included from the beginning of their employment and based on their actual wages. He called for enhanced cooperation among all relevant entities—civil society organizations, professional associations, labor and human rights unions—to help preserve workers' rights and strengthen the national social protection system. Khalayleh highlighted the institution's focus on media and communications, keeping pace with developments in how it reaches out to the public both locally and abroad. The goal is to promote a culture of social security, raise awareness among workers and employers about the Social Security Law, and educate them on their rights and obligations. This includes launching a high-quality digital media initiative, sharing educational content across SSC's digital platforms, and running specialized media campaigns to inform both workers and employers of the insurance benefits and programs offered. He added that the SSC has provided its audience with multiple communication channels, including its unified call center at 117117, the National Call Center at 065008080, its verified social media accounts, and the option of visiting any SSC branch to file complaints related to lack of coverage or being enrolled under incorrect salary levels.
