Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jaden Rashada, who previously played quarterback for Arizona State, surveyed his options in the NCAA transfer portal for the second time in his college career. Despite not finding a new team during the winter transfer window he had many suitors like North Carolina, Western Kentucky, UConn, and more. Rashada has decided to sign with Sacramento State Hornets which is an FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) team which is is below the FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision). Sacramento State is looking to join the FBS level in 2026. Rashada will look to become the starting quarterback for the Hornets. Advertisement Rashada's journey in college football has been an adventurous one. Originally, he committed to the Florida Gators, but due to NIL disagreements resulting in a lawsuit, he asked to be released from his National Letter of Intent and signed with the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2023. With the Sun Devils, he completed 44 of 82 passes for 485 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions in 2023. Rashada competed for the Sun Devils' starting job in 2024, but after losing it to Sam Leavitt, he decided to enter the transfer portal on April 18, 2024. He chose to transfer to the Georgia Bulldogs on April 25. Rashada could've potentially earned some more starting experience when Carson Beck went down. However, he lost the backup spot to sophomore Gunner Stockton, who took over for Beck when he suffered an elbow injury in the SEC championship. SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Former Georgia and Arizona State quarterback Jaden Rashada is heading to Sacramento State. The well-traveled Rashada announced his latest destination on Instagram Friday. Rashada did not appear in any games for the Bulldogs after spending his freshman season at Arizona State. He started three games for the Sun Devils, throwing for 485 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Rashada initially agreed to play at Miami coming out of Pittsburg High School in California, but signed a letter of intent to play at Florida. He didn't play for the Gators and later sued coach Billy Napier and the program's top booster over a failed name, image and likeness deal worth nearly $14 million. Rashada has three years of eligibility left.
