PM Modi Felicitated By Har Har Mahadev Chants At NDA Meet
Legislative business in both Houses remains stalled as the Opposition parties are demanding an immediate debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. The issue, which triggered major protests on Monday, has deepened the deadlock and disrupted parliamentary proceedings. Deputy Speaker Jagdambika Pal, who chaired the afternoon session yesterday, pointed out that not a single bill has been passed since the Monsoon Session began on July 21. Meanwhile, yesterday's Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned following the demise of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren. Key leaders from the BJP, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Kiren Rijiju, are expected to participate in today's session. From the opposition, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, along with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, are also likely to attend. This is the third consecutive week of disruptions in Parliament, with no signs of a breakthrough. The Monsoon Session of the Parliament began on July 21 and is scheduled to run until August 21. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the BJP-led NDA parliamentary party meeting today, marking the first such gathering during the current session and the first in quite some time. The meeting is expected to focus on floor coordination and strategy amid the ongoing impasse.

This was the second adjournment of the House on the same issue. Earlier the house was adjourned up to 2 PM immediately after it assembled for the day at 11 AM. When the House reconvened at 2 PM, presiding officer Jagdambika Pal initiated the proceedings. But Opposition MPs stormed into the Well of the House, shouting slogans. LS adjourned for the day amid ruckus by Oppn over SIR issue
New Delhi, July 25 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day today due to continued disruptions by Opposition members demanding a rollback of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) currently underway in Bihar. As soon as the House reassembled, members of the Opposition parties started raising slogans with some holding placards. Amid the ruckus, presiding officer Jagdambika Pal called for the papers to be laid on the table. The Opposition members entered the well of the House raising slogans like 'SIR Wapas Lo' (take back SIR and 'SIR pe charcha karo' (have discussion on SIR). Urging the protesting member to go back to their seats and let the House function, Pal said, 'You yourself introspect that with this commotion who will gain. You have been sent by the people to raise their issues. But the House is being disrupted repeatedly. It is not an achievement. There are more than 200 Private Member Bills'. Meanwhile, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that an important bill pertaining to the tribals of Goa was up for discussion in the House, but the Opposition members were not allowing it to take place. 'By not allowing the House to function, they show that they are against tribals of Goa,' Meghwal said. The chair again urged the agitating members to go back to their seats and let the House function. Despite his repeated requests, the Opposition continued with the ruckus and the chair then adjourned the House till 11 am. Earlier in the day when the House met, tributes were paid to the armed forces on Kargil Vijay Diwas. However, soon after Speaker Om Birla initiated the session, Opposition members stormed into the well of the House, raising slogans and displaying placards in protest. Amid the disruptions, the Speaker urged the agitating members to allow the House to function. Addressing the unruly scene, Speaker Birla said, "I have always made efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of the House, especially that members get full opportunity to speak during question hour." He also proposed involving a government representative in talks with opposition leaders to resolve the ongoing standoff. Birla emphasised the importance of Parliamentary functioning, highlighting that each MP represents approximately 20 lakh citizens who look to their elected leaders with expectations for their future. Despite his appeal, the Opposition continued their protest, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the session until 2 pm. UNI RBE PRS

Lok Sabha adjourned for the day due to persistent Opposition protests over SIR
Jagdambika Pal, who was in the chair after the House met at 2 PM, rebuked the opposition MPs for repeated disruptions despite government's assurance that it was willing to answer on all issues. It was for the fifth straight day that no significant legislative business transacted. New Delhi, Jul 25 (PTI) Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the day on Friday as Opposition protests continued over the revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, capping the Monsoon session's first week which has been washed out. 'Nobody is benefiting from this ruckus. People have sent you to raise their issues you are disrupting the House. Getting the House adjourned is not an achievement, it is a matter of concern and the whole country is harmed by it,' Pal told protesting opposition MPs who rushed to the Well of the House raising slogans against Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and demanding a discussion on the issue. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said, 'The Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024' is a very important bill concerning Scheduled Tribes (STs) that should be taken up for discussion. 'It is a very important bill. Are they (opposition) against the STs?' Meghwal said. Pal said it was a day when private member bills of MPs were to be discussed and it was not right to disrupt the House. 'The government is ready to discuss all issues. The Speaker has taken the initiative. Government is ready to answer on all whole week has been washed out. The people of the country have some expectations but you dont wan't this House to run,' Pal told the protesting MPs. As the opposition MPs continued with their protests, Pal adjourned the House for the day. Earlier, the Question Hour in the Lower House was disrupted for a fifth straight day since the Monsoon session of Parliament commenced on July 21. Soon after the House convened for the day, Opposition members sought to raise the issue of electoral rolls revision in Bihar and many of them were standing in the aisle. Speaker Om Birla told the protesting members to allow the Question Hour to continue and stressed that even when there are disagreements, those should be expressed within the democratic traditions. While mentioning that sloganeering and display of placards in the House is not appropriate, Birla also said that he can call the government and Opposition representatives, and help in discussions and sorting out the issues. As the protests continued, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings within five minutes till 2 pm. The opposition is demanding a discussion on SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar, an exercise initiated by the Election Commission ahead of the state assembly polls due later this year. The House also paid tributes to the fallen soldiers in the Kargil War, a day ahead of the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas on Saturday. As a mark of respect, the House also stood in silence for a brief while.
