'More Concerned About Miss World Than...': BJP Slams Revanth Reddy Over Op Sindoor Remarks

Last Updated: Telangana BJP slammed Reddy for prioritising photo-ops and media attention over national solidarity after the latter's remarks on Operation Sindoor and PM Modi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his recent comments on Operation Sindoor and his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Telangana BJP spokesperson and media in-charge NV Subash accused Revanth Reddy of prioritising photo-ops and media attention over effective governance. He also slammed Reddy's conduct as 'bizarre and irresponsible," calling it unfit for a state leader. 'Is he living in a fantasy? Even a national daily that once published such claims had to retract them after the Defence Ministry clarified the facts. Yet, the CM chooses to repeat these lies, presumably to curry favour with his party high command – Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi – thanks to whom he parachuted into the CM's chair," Subash said on Reddy's recent remarks. Subash also pointed out that Reddy's remarks criticising India's Operation Sindoor appeared to be echoing the propaganda perpetuated by Pakistan. 'Even a staunch BJP critic like AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi has no hesitation in calling out Pakistan's duplicity," he said. 'More Concerned About Miss World' Subash further said that the CM appeared more concerned about 'appearing alongside Miss World on tomorrow's front pages" rather than expressing solidarity with the country amid heightened tensions with Pakistan. This was in reference to Telangana hosting the Miss World competition, one of the biggest international beauty pageants, whose finale will be broadcast tonight. The competition began amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan soon after India's retaliatory 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, amid calls from the opposition to postpone it. The BJP spokesperson urged Reddy to 'exercise restraint and responsibility" in public discourse and also mocked him for suggesting Rahul Gandhi as the country's next Prime Minister. 'Even his party members would laugh at that suggestion." What Did Revanth Reddy Say? Telangana CM Revanth Reddy made headlines for questioning the ceasefire between India and Pakistan and objected to calling off the 'war' by the Modi government at the behest of US President Donald Trump's orders. Reddy questioned why a ceasefire was called without consulting all parties. While addressing the Congress' 'Jai Hind Yatra' in Hyderabad, Reddy said, 'Modi is expired rupee, Modi is like a 1000 rupees' invalid note. Today, this country needs Rahul Gandhi's leadership." He also demanded an explanation for how many Rafale jets were downed by Pakistan. 'If a leader like Rahul Gandhi would have been Prime Minister of this country, then he would have taken (former PM) Indira Gandhi as inspiration and would have walked in Kaali's (Maata) way and would have made Pakistan into two parts and would have taken PoK back," he added. Reddy reiterated that the Congress and the Gandhi family have a history of sacrificing their lives for the country. He urged the party leaders and workers to strive hard and not relax until Rahul Gandhi became Prime Minister. Also addressing a press briefing at the party headquarters on Friday, BJP MP Sambit Patra said, ' Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain '. Patra also questioned Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy and Jairam Ramesh over not asking Pakistan regarding how many of their airbases were destroyed or terrorists were killed. BJP slams Revanth Reddy for Op Sindoor questions: 'More excited about Miss World than national solidarity'

The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday launched a scathing attack on chief minister Revanth Reddy over his statements on Operation Sindoor and criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP state chief spokesperson NV Subash criticised Revanth Reddy for what he described as "bizarre and irresponsible" behaviour unbecoming of a state leader, reported ANI. Referring to Revanth Reddy's recent remarks questioning the Modi government and alleging failure to reclaim Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Subhash alleged that the chief minister's 'false narratives' appear more in tune with Pakistan's propaganda than with the sentiments of Indian citizens. "Is he living in a fantasy? Even a national daily that once published such claims had to retract them after the Defence Ministry clarified the facts. Yet, the CM chooses to repeat these lies, presumably to curry favour with his party high command--Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi--thanks to whom he parachuted into the CM's chair," Subhash was quoted as saying by the news agency. "Even a staunch BJP critic like AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi has no hesitation in calling out Pakistan's duplicity. But Revanth Reddy, in a stunning display of ignorance, appears to justify the enemy nation's claims," he said, according to ANI. He also claimed that Reddy seems 'more thrilled about appearing alongside Miss World' on front pages than expressing solidarity with the nation at a time of heightened tensions with Pakistan. 'It is unfortunate that Revanth Reddy seems more thrilled about appearing alongside Miss World on tomorrow's front pages than expressing solidarity with the nation at a time of heightened tensions with our rogue neighbour, Pakistan,' he said. Earlier, while participating in Congress 'Jai Hind Yatra' in Nizampet, Hyderabad, Reddy had criticised the Narendra Modi-led Central government and said that the country needs the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. "Modi is expired rupee, Modi is like a 1000 rupees' invalid note. Today, this country needs Rahul Gandhi's leadership. If a leader like Rahul Gandhi would have been Prime Minister of this country, then he would have taken (former PM) Indira Gandhi as inspiration and would have walked in Kaali's (Maata) way and would have made Pakistan into two parts and would have taken PoK back," Revanth Reddy was quoted as saying by ANI. Union Minister Kishan accuses Revanth of insulting PM Modi, armed forces

HYDERABAD: Union Coal & Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday slammed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for making 'insulting' remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Operation Sindoor, alleging that those comments were demoralising to the Indian armed forces. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Kishan Reddy accused the Congress of politicising national security. Kishan, who is also the president of Telangana unit of BJP, said the Congress has turned its Jai Hind Yatra into a 'political' programme and this is not new for that party to undermine the armed forces with such events. 'This is not the first time the Congress has insulted the Indian Army. They questioned the surgical strikes carried out in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Now, they are again making baseless statements that hurt the morale and self-confidence of our forces,' he said. Kishan also questioned the credibility of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. 'First, Rahul Gandhi should explain who handed over PoK to Pakistan. Congress is responsible for that and for the loss of countless lives over the years,' the Union minister said. Referring to doubts raised by Rahul on Operation Sindoor, Kishan said, 'It is shameful that Rahul is asking how many Rafale jets were lost instead of asking how many terrorists were killed. This shows his immaturity. He should recall the countless terror attacks and bomb blasts that occurred during the Congress regime.' 'Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the Indian armed forces are giving fitting responses to terrorists and Pakistan,' he added.

Union State Minister Ajay Tamta hits back at Telangana CM's remarks, questions Congress's track record on national security

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India] May 31 (ANI): In response to recent comments made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta has strongly criticised the Congress party, questioning its historical stance on national security. Reddy had suggested that PoK could have been reintegrated into India had Congress leader Rahul Gandhi been the Prime Minister. Reacting to this, Tamta said, 'Everyone knows that during the Congress regime, our soldiers were martyred in deceitful attacks, and their heads were severed. The real question is--what did they do then? Today, under the decisive leadership of the PM, we have conducted surgical strikes and launched Operation Sindoor, through which we successfully destroyed terrorist camps and neutralised a significant number of terrorists.' Earlier, slamming Revanth Reddy over his statement regarding the destruction of Rafale jets during Operation Sindoor, BJP MP Sambit Patra said, 'Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain'. Sambit Patra was addressing a press conference on Friday at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. Sambit Patra questioned Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy and Jairam Ramesh over not asking Pakistan regarding how many of their airbases were destroyed or terrorists were killed. Patra further mentioned that there are currently two factions in the Congress: one that supports Pakistan and another that wants to raise its voice, but cannot because of Rahul Gandhi. The BJP MP further stated that the Congress 'Jai Hind Yatra' looks like the Pakistan Hind Yatra. 'Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, and Revanth Reddy are asking how many Rafales were shot down. 'Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain'. Rahul Gandhi did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed, how many terrorists were killed; rather, he only asked how many Indian planes were shot down. Today, there are two factions in Congress - one that supports Pakistan and the other that wants to raise a voice for the country, but is unable to do so because of you. Your 'Jai Hind Yatra' looks like 'Pakistan's Hind Yatra' and you should stop this yatra and hold a joint press conference with Pakistan', Sambit Patra said. (ANI)

BJP's Jitendra Singh takes dig at Revanth Reddy's PoK remarks: ‘Hilarious'

Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday took a jibe at the remarks made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding India taking back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) if Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi was the Prime Minister, stating that it was "hilarious". He asserted that PoK exists today due to decisions made by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who held him responsible for both the partition of the nation and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. "It is hilarious if any Congress leader says that if Rahul Gandhi were the PM of India, the PoK would have been India's part. But the fact is that had Rahul Gandhi's great maternal grandfather, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, not been the PM of India, the PoJK would not have been (in existence) today. It is the result of his actions that first, the nation was divided, then Jammu and Kashmir was divided," Singh told ANI. "We must not forget that when the India-Pakistan war was going on, and our forces were in a situation to win the PoK back, it was the then PM Jawaharlal Nehru who declared a unilateral ceasefire on the Akashvani without consulting with anyone," he added. Singh's remarks came in response to statements made by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, who said that if Rahul Gandhi had been the Prime Minister, India would have taken back PoK. He was speaking at an event that raised questions on why Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called a ceasefire to the recent military operations against Pakistan without consulting political parties, even though an all-party meeting was held before military strikes began. "Why was no all-party meeting called to seek the opinions of all the parties before declaring a ceasefire?" asked Reddy on Thursday while participating in Congress 'Jai Hind Yatra' in Nizampet, Hyderabad. Addressing the event, Reddy called PM Modi an "expired rupee". He said, "Modi is expired rupee, Modi is like a 1000 rupees' invalid note. Today, this country needs Rahul Gandhi's leadership. If a leader like Rahul Gandhi would have been Prime Minister of this country, then he would have taken (former PM) Indira Gandhi as inspiration and would have walked in Kaali's (Maata) way and would have made Pakistan into two parts and would have taken PoK back." Reddy drew comparisons with the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's leadership and her decisive action against China and Pakistan, including the 1971 war, which led to the creation of Bangladesh.
