MNS workers attack autorickshaw driver for ‘objectionable' words against Raj Thackeray
Mumbai: MNS workers attacked an autorickshaw driver here and forced him to apologise for allegedly using objectionable language against a Marathi-speaking passenger as well as party chief Raj Thackeray recently. The incident involving the passenger took place in Dadar on Wednesday. The passenger shot a video of the driver using objectionable language against him and Thackeray. He later posted the video, which shows the number plate of the autorickshaw, on social media, a police official said. After the video went viral, in which the driver is purportedly seen arguing with the passenger and using a word against Raj Thackeray that the MNS men found objectionable, party workers traced the autorickshaw man and called him to the party office in Mulund and attacked him. A vidoe of the attack was shot. In the second video, an office-bearer of the MNS is seen slapping the driver and forcing him to apologise to Thackeray and his son, Amit. They also forced him to say "Jai Maharashtra". A police official said no complaint had been lodged.

MNS Workers With Cam, Pizza Boy 'Harassed' For Not Speaking Marathi Apologises: 'Seekhunga...'
Last Updated: The pizza delivery agent is seen apologising for 'falsely spreading' the Marathi imposition story at the MNS office. Days after a video showing a Domino's delivery agent allegedly being harassed over language issues, a fresh clip has emerged — this time showing the young man publicly apologising. The controversy began when Rohit Lavare, a pizza delivery agent from Mumbai, claimed he was mistreated by a customer for not speaking Marathi. The alleged incident took place on May 12 at the Sai Radhe building in the city's Bhandup area. Lavare recorded and shared a video of the confrontation, which quickly gained traction on social media and drew widespread attention. The matter eventually reached the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), known for advocating Marathi pride. In the latest footage, Lavare is seen at an MNS office, where he apologises for what he describes as 'falsely spreading" a story about language imposition. 'I did not do this intentionally," he says. 'I sent it to a Domino's group, and it became viral. Ma'am did make the payment. Let's not have any more misunderstandings. Please make the video viral." Encouraged by an MNS leader present there, Lavare also directly apologised to the woman involved in the earlier incident. 'Ma'am is very nice," he said. 'Please don't misunderstand." He ended his statement by pledging to learn and speak Marathi, concluding with 'Jai Hind. Jai Maharashtra." While appreciating MNS's efforts, a social media user posted the video of the incident on X, writing, 'That's what you get when you don't respect our culture and language!" He also mentioned that the man and the woman in the viral clip were not a couple but mother and son. 'Main Marathi bolunga bhi. Aur seekhunga bhi. (I'll learn Marathi and speak it, too) Jai Hind. Jai Maharashtra," the boy concluded. That's what you get when you don't respect our culture and language! Kudos to @mnsadhikrut Social media users soon flocked to the comments section, with many claiming the apology appeared forced. A user wrote, 'This video proves it even further that he was right and now he is being threatened for it." 'Everyone saw the video, don't insult our intelligence. He was threatened, and no narrative can hide that," read another comment. top videos View all In the earlier video that sparked controversy, a man and a woman were seen arguing with the delivery boy and telling him the payment would be made only if he spoke Marathi. They were seen speaking from inside their apartment with the main grill door locked. The clips conclude with the duo in the video refusing to pay, and the boy had to leave without receiving any money. First Published:

Marathi row: Mumbai pizza delivery boy apologises at MNS office; netizens not convinced, ‘Not my Maharashtra'
Remember the Domino's Pizza delivery boy who was allegedly harassed in Mumbai for not speaking Marathi? A couple reportedly refused to pay him unless he spoke Marathi. Rohit Lavare recorded the incident, and the video went viral on social media. Now, the boy has apologised. The incident happened on May 12 at the Sai Radhe building in Mumbai's Bhandup area. While many stood by the delivery boy, the incident apparently reached a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) office. A new video shows the pizza delivery boy apologising for 'falsely spreading' the Marathi imposition story. 'I did not do this intentionally. I sent it to a Domino's group, and it became viral. Ma'am did make the payment. Let's not have any more misunderstandings. Please make the video viral,' he says as multiple mobile phones record his statement. Then, an MNS leader asks him to apologise to the woman involved in the alleged incident. And, he does. 'Ma'am bahot acchi hai, bhai. Please aisa mat karo. (Ma'am is very nice. Please don't do this),' he tells the camera. 'That's what you get when you don't respect our culture and language!' wrote the user who posted the video on X (formerly Twitter) while appreciating MNS' efforts. The delivery boy also clarifies that the man and the woman in the video are not a couple. They're mother and son. Another MNS worker then reminds him of saying the 'Marathi' thing. The delivery boy continues, 'Main Marathi bolunga bhi. Aur seekhunga bhi. (I'll learn Marathi and speak it, too) Jai Hind. Jai Maharashtra.' Social media is, however, not convinced. Many users claim that the apology seems forced. 'No wonder they did not go to the police to make their complaint but were smart enough with the political party. Makes me wonder what is the real truth about this issue,' commented one user. Another one asked, 'Why is she ordering Italian food? Order Maharashtrian food. Will these people have the audacity to impose the language on someone who's equal in status? They just oppress people like delivery boys, security guards. So shameful.' 'Kanpati pe gun rakh ke koi bhi kuch bhi bulva sakta hai!!! (Anyone can be forced to say anything by putting a gun to someone's head). Maharashtra is transforming to Hooliganism,' came from another. 'This is not my Maharashtra. That's the reason why this political party drawn zero in the last election. Only way to stay relevant they do this stupidity,' wrote a Reddit user.

Uddhav-Raj Thackeray reunion: Are Sena (UBT) and MNS leaders ready for alliance?
NEW DELHI: As the rumors about and his estranged cousin 's reunion start getting traction, the leaders of (UBT) and (MNS) said that personal relationships and organisational alignment need addressing. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The cousins' recent statements suggest a possible reconciliation after nearly 20 years of separation, with both expressing willingness to overlook minor differences. The Sena (UBT) recently shared an enigmatic social media message stating, "Time has come to unite for the sake of Mumbai and Maharashtra. Shivsainiks are ready for the protection of Marathi asmita (pride)." Both cousins are currently overseas, with Raj expected to return in late April and Uddhav in early May. This reunion speculation emerges as both parties face their most challenging political period, with poor electoral performance. The Sena (UBT) secured 20 seats in the 2024 assembly polls, while the MNS failed to win any seats. Leaders of both parties have, however, said that though Uddhav's response to Raj's call may have sparked speculation, it is easier said than done. Party officials indicate that despite the positive signals, implementation remains complex. A Sena (UBT) representative highlighted the cousins' contrasting personalities. Historical tensions persist since Raj's 2005 departure from Shiv Sena, which he attributed to Uddhav. Raj has consistently maintained he would only work under Bal Thackeray's leadership. The situation extends beyond the two leaders to their families, particularly their sons Aaditya and Amit, who are being prepared for future leadership roles. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Prakash Akolkar, author of "Jai Maharashtra", notes this differs from previous political alliances, as it involves a personal family dispute over Bal Thackeray's legacy. "The fight between Uddhav and Raj is personal and a family feud, where both brothers are vying for the family assets. The assets are not always monetary. Here, the asset is Bal Thackeray's legacy," Akolkar said. Practical challenges include seat-sharing arrangements in stronghold areas like Dadar and Worli, and ideological differences. "When we discuss seat-sharing agreements in Mumbai, how will the seats be divided? How will the winnable and non-winnable seats be divided? What about areas like Dadar and Worli, where both parties have a strong base? What about other cities where Sena (UBT) and MNS have their strength," an MNS leader said. He also raised the question of ideologies. While Raj is fashioning himself into a Marathi-Hindutva leader, Uddhav has focused on making the party more inclusive, especially warming up to the Muslim community. "If Uddhav has asked us to sever ties with the BJP, will he do the same with the Congress?" asked the MNS leader. While Raj positions himself as a Marathi-Hindutva leader, Uddhav has adopted a more inclusive approach, particularly towards the Muslim community. MNS representatives have raised concerns about reconciling these divergent positions and addressing past grievances.
