The pizza delivery agent is seen apologising for 'falsely spreading' the Marathi imposition story at the MNS office.
Days after a video showing a Domino's delivery agent allegedly being harassed over language issues, a fresh clip has emerged — this time showing the young man publicly apologising. The controversy began when Rohit Lavare, a pizza delivery agent from Mumbai, claimed he was mistreated by a customer for not speaking Marathi.
The alleged incident took place on May 12 at the Sai Radhe building in the city's Bhandup area. Lavare recorded and shared a video of the confrontation, which quickly gained traction on social media and drew widespread attention. The matter eventually reached the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), known for advocating Marathi pride.
In the latest footage, Lavare is seen at an MNS office, where he apologises for what he describes as 'falsely spreading" a story about language imposition. 'I did not do this intentionally," he says. 'I sent it to a Domino's group, and it became viral. Ma'am did make the payment. Let's not have any more misunderstandings. Please make the video viral."
Encouraged by an MNS leader present there, Lavare also directly apologised to the woman involved in the earlier incident. 'Ma'am is very nice," he said. 'Please don't misunderstand." He ended his statement by pledging to learn and speak Marathi, concluding with 'Jai Hind. Jai Maharashtra."
While appreciating MNS's efforts, a social media user posted the video of the incident on X, writing, 'That's what you get when you don't respect our culture and language!"
He also mentioned that the man and the woman in the viral clip were not a couple but mother and son. 'Main Marathi bolunga bhi. Aur seekhunga bhi. (I'll learn Marathi and speak it, too) Jai Hind. Jai Maharashtra," the boy concluded.
Domino's Delivery Boy – 'मॅडम बोहत अच्छी है, उन्होंने पैसे भी दिये थे. मे मॅडम की माफी मांगता हू. अब मे मराठी बोलुंगा भी और सीखुंगा भी. जय हिंद, जय महाराष्ट्र."
That's what you get when you don't respect our culture and language! Kudos to @mnsadhikrut
Social media users soon flocked to the comments section, with many claiming the apology appeared forced. A user wrote, 'This video proves it even further that he was right and now he is being threatened for it."
'Everyone saw the video, don't insult our intelligence. He was threatened, and no narrative can hide that," read another comment.

In the earlier video that sparked controversy, a man and a woman were seen arguing with the delivery boy and telling him the payment would be made only if he spoke Marathi.
They were seen speaking from inside their apartment with the main grill door locked. The clips conclude with the duo in the video refusing to pay, and the boy had to leave without receiving any money.

Maharashtra train mishap: Will raise issue in Committee on Railways meet, seek audit, says Kolhe

'As a member of the Committee on Railways, I will raise the issue of today's accident as well as disproportionate local services compared to the number of daily commuters in the upcoming meeting and seek an audit. The recommendations of the meetings are submitted to the railway ministry and it has to take it seriously. I will try to discuss it with the the Railway minister as well,' he told a Marathi news channel. His statement comes against the backdrop of the deaths of four passengers in a train mishap at Mumbra railway station in Thane district this morning. Mumbai, Jun 9 (PTI) NCP (SP) Lok Sabha MP Amol Kolhe on Monday said he would raise the issue of Mumbai suburban train accidents at the upcoming meeting of the Committee on Railways, of which he is a member. The MP from Shirur in Pune, speaking about the high rate of passenger fatalities on Central Railway, said it seems that passenger safety is not a priority, which is very unfortunate. 'A comprehensive passenger mobility plan is under discussion, yet many commuters feel compelled to travel under unsafe conditions due to a lack of adequate train services. I will ensure this issue is brought to the forefront during our committee meeting,' Kolhe said. Kolhe said the incident this morning must be thoroughly probed, adding that if on an average 7-11 passengers are involved in mishaps daily, then the entire service must be audited. 'This is utterly unacceptable. The system is failing and requires immediate attention,' he said. PTI ND BNM This report is auto-generated from PTI news service. 'Something Hit Our Coach': How Mumbai Local Train Mishap Unfolded; Fadnavis Says 'Railways Probe On'

Last Updated: Railway officials said the passengers probably fell as commuters hanging from the footboard and their backpacks brushed each other as two trains passed in opposite directions An eyewitness provided a chilling account of the horrific train mishap in Maharashtra's Thane district in which at least four commuters, including a GRP constable, were killed and nine were injured. The eyewitness said someone fell from a coach ahead of theirs and they felt something hit the compartment. The incident took place in a moving and overcrowded local train during Monday morning rush hour. The deceased were identified as Ketan Saroj, Rahul Gupta, Mayur Shah and Thane GRP constable Vicky Mukhyad. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the railway administration is looking into the cause of the accident, even as the Congress demanded the resignation of railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and MNS chief Raj Thackeray made a controversial statement, saying Mumbai's suburban railway system has collapsed due to an influx of migrants. HOW IT HAPPENED? The eyewitness to the suburban railway mishap said the chain of events began after someone in the coach ahead of his either fell after hitting a wall or 'something hit our compartment". According to the police, the incident took place between Diva and Kopar railway stations when the train was going towards Kasara. The passengers probably fell after commuters hanging from the footboard of two overcrowded trains and their backpacks brushed against each other as the trains passed in opposite directions, said Swapnil Dhanraj Nila, chief public relations officer (CPRO) of the Central Railway. This eyewitness, a Bhiwandi resident, boarded the Kasara-CSMT train at Kalyan station. 'The incident happened when the train reached Mumbra station. Someone from the coach ahead of ours fell off after hitting a wall or something hit our coach. At that time, three-four people from our coach fell down and some from other coaches also fell. I think 7-8 persons lost balance and fell onto the tracks," he said. He said his friend Rehan Shaikh (26), who was coming from Kalyan to Thane, was injured in the accident. The police said the guard of a train going towards Kasara alerted the railway authorities about the incident. Those who fell off the trains were rushed to nearby hospitals, where four were declared dead on arrival, they said. Officials said around 75 lakh commuters travel daily by suburban trains in Mumbai. The morning and evening rush hours in the suburban network are among the densest in the world. In the morning, the passenger flow is towards the south of the metropolis where a majority of the offices are located. The flow reverses in the evening as people start leaving for home towards Thane and beyond on the Central Railway network and Andheri and beyond on Western Railway. The Railway Board has decided that all new suburban trains in Mumbai will have automatic door closing facility and the existing ones will also be retrofitted to have the mechanism, an official said. WHO SAID WHAT? Fadnavis said the railway administration is probing the cause of the accident, while his deputy Eknath Shinde said steps were being taken to help the victims and their families. The incident highlights the need to pay serious attention to overcrowding and passenger safety in the suburban railway system, said the other deputy Ajit Pawar. 'A high-powered railways committee will investigate the matter. The truth will come out, and if anyone is found guilty, strict action will be taken," Shinde said, responding to concerns over inadequate facilities for Mumbai commuters despite their significant contribution to the railways' revenue. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery. 'While the Modi Government is celebrating 11 years of 'service', the reality of the country is reflected in the tragic news coming from Mumbai – several people died after falling from a train. Indian Railways is the backbone of the lives of crores of people, but today it has become a symbol of insecurity, congestion and chaos," Gandhi posted on X. He added: '11 years of Modi government = no accountability, no change, only propaganda. The government has stopped talking about 2025 and is now selling dreams of 2047. Who will see what the country is facing today?" NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar said the Central Railway should implement measures like installing automatic doors in suburban trains in view of overcrowding. 'The Central Railway should increase local trains on important routes. Necessary measures should be implemented immediately for the safety of passengers," Pawar posted on X. 'It is well known that the increased crowding in local trains is the main reason. After such accidents, it is not right to blame the passengers for their deaths," he said. 'The Railways should just shut up about what they are planning to do because none of them have been delivered as far as Mumbai local trains are concerned. These are not deaths by overcrowding but murders executed by an apathetic Reel Minister and the government of Maharashtra," Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi posted on X. Mumbai Congress president Varsha Gaikwad said Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw should own responsibility for the tragedy and resign. Raj Thackeray said the railways infrastructure in Mumbai has collapsed due to the 'hordes" of migrants. top videos View all NCP (SP) leader Jitendra Awhad ridiculed the proposal for installing automatic doors in suburban trains, claiming commuters will suffocate due to this facility. Bodies of woman, two sons found in Pune: family member held for murder

Two days after the bodies of a woman and her two children were found in a partially burnt condition near the Pune- Ahilyanagar Highway in Shirur taluka, the Pune Rural Police Saturday arrested her family member for allegedly murdering them. The woman identified as Swati Keshav Sonawane (25) and her sons Swaraj (2) and Viraj (1) were found murdered around 11 am on May 25 in Ranjangaon town. The arrested accused was identified as Gorakh Popat Bokhare (36), police said, adding that he was in a relationship with the woman. Police said Swati wanted to marry Gorakh, but he allegedly refused and killed her along with two sons. The accused was remanded in police custody till June 11 for further investigation. After the bodies were found on May 25, the initial probe and the autopsy revealed they were murdered before being set on fire to destroy the evidence. Accordingly, an FIR was lodged at the Ranjangaon MIDC police station under sections 103 (1), 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said on the front of the right hand of the woman, there was a tattoo of a heart shape followed by a heartbeat sign in the form of an ECG line, followed by words 'mom' and 'dad' in English. The right hand also had the words 'Jai Bhim' written in Marathi. On the back side of right hand there was a tattoo of the name 'Kartik' in Marathi, in addition to two heart signs with letters 'R' and 'S' written in those hearts and the name 'Rajratan' in English. Also, on her left hand there is a tattoo of a floral design. Seven police teams were formed to identify the deceased and their killer. There was no CCTV close to the spot where the bodies were found. But police checked videos from over 250 CCTVs from Wagholi in Pune to Rahuri in Ahilya Nagar district. Sandeep Singh Gill, Superintendent of Pune rural police, then formed 27 teams coordinated by inspector Avinash Shilimkar of local crime branch and inspector Mahadev Waghmode of Ranjangaon police station for probing this case. Information about missing persons cases was gathered from all districts and cities. Police then came across a missing woman report filed at Majalgaon police station in Beed district on May 9. Police said the description of the missing woman from Beed matched the body found at Ranjangaon. This led the police to identify the deceased woman as Swati Sonawane of Waghora village in Majalgaon, Beed. Investigation revealed that Swati had a dispute with her husband, who worked as a worker at a private place. She left her husband and went to her maternal house in Pune's Alandi along with her sons Swaraj and Viraj. Further probe revealed that Swati and her sons went along with her relative Gorakh Bokhare on a motorcycle around 9 pm on May 23 and then did not return. Police said Swati's parents working as labourers in Alandi were not aware of her location. Police then traced Gorakh, a native of Shrigonda in Ahilyanagar, currently residing at Saradwadi village in Shirur taluka. During interrogation, he allegedly admitted his involvement in the triple murder, police said. Probe revealed that Swati's sister is married to Gorakh's brother. Being family members, they knew each other. Police said when Swati and her husband had quarrels, Gorakh used to mediate and solve it. But in the meantime, Swati and Gorakh developed a relationship. Police said Swati asked Gorakh to marry her. But Gorakh was already married and had two children. So he refused to marry Swati and when she started insisting, he allegedly decided to kill her, police said. Accordingly, on May 23, he allegedly took Swati and her sons with him on a motorcycle from Alandi to Ranjangaon in the night hours. He allegedly murdered Swati and the two boys by strangulation, then stoned their faces and burnt their bodies with petrol for destroying evidence, stated a press release issued on Saturday. 'Gorakh worked as a driver on a private vehicle. He hails from Ahilyanagar, but had shifted to Shirur a few years before,' said Sandeep Singh Gill, during a press conference.
