1 2 Jaipur: Dispelling concerns that ongoing disputes might derail team selections for Pali, Bikaner and Jodhpur districts, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee convener and BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani has announced open selection trials for the Colvin Shield, scheduled to begin from June 7. The RCA's ad hoc panel has been grappling with controversies surrounding the Pali, Bikaner and Jodhpur district cricket associations (DCA). Following complaints of alleged irregularities, committee convener Bihani revoked the recognition of the Pali and Bikaner DCAs. Additionally, the Jodhpur DCA's elections have not yet received the convener's approval. Bihani has formed a panel to oversee the team selection process for the three districts, ensuring the tournament remains on track. "Open selection trials for these three teams will be held at the district centres in the presence of the RCA supervisor and the team will be picked by the selectors authorised by the RCA," said ad hoc member Vimal Sharma from Bihani coterie. Bihani claims support of 18 DCAs, appoints ombudsman
1 2 Jaipur: The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee convener and BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani has appointed retired Supreme Court Justice Deepak Verma as the ombudsman, 'in line with Lodha Committee recommendations'. This decision follows the 'approval' of 18 District Cricket Associations (DCA), who authorised Bihani to appoint the ombudsman, ethics officer and election officer, as well as take action against the Bikaner and Pali DCAs. Bihani had later questioned the reason why RR failed to chase down the target when they needed 9 runs in the last over with six wickets remaining. RR have now written a letter to Rajasthan government and the state's Sports Council claiming the statement by Bihani has caused 'great damage to the reputation and image of Rajasthan Royals." 'Jaideep Bihani has also accused Rajasthan Royals management, Rajasthan Sports Council and BCCI of colluding with each other to exclude RCA ad hoc from participating in IPL. Whereas in reality, all the allegations made by ad hoc committee convener Jaideep Bihani are completely false and baseless. There is no evidence for them…" RR wrote. 'This year, according to the BCCI, Rajasthan Sports Council has the rights to host IPL matches in Jaipur. He criticised the sports council's stadium management and claimed RCA's resources, including curator Taposh Chatterjee, were utilised without payment, whilst committee members were denied accreditation. RSSC chairman and state sports secretary Neeraj K Pawan said responded that the ad hoc panel's responsibility is limited to conducting RCA elections. Regarding fixing allegations, Pawan said, 'The anti-corruption team of BCCI sits here before the match, during the match and after the match, so whatever is being said is fictional.'
