(AP) — Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt converted a pair of free throws with three seconds left to lift Alcorn State to a 65-63 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a regular season finale on Saturday. The Braves (11-20, 11-7) finish the season in sixth place and will have a first-round bye to the Southwestern Conference tournament quarterfinals Wednesday in Atlanta. The Golden Lions finished 11th and finished one game shy of reaching the conference tournament. Julian Lual scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Braves. Gaines-Wyatt scored 11 points while shooting 4 for 11, including 1 for 6 from beyond the arc. Omari Hamilton shot 3 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with nine points. Doctor Bradley led the way for the Golden Lions (6-25, 3-15) with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. UAPB also got 16 points from Raphael Dumont. (AP) — Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt and Marcus Tankersley each scored 15 points and Alcorn State beat Prairie View A&M 71-55 on Saturday. Gaines-Wyatt added five rebounds and six assists for the Braves (9-19, 9-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Mike Pajeaud finished with 13 points. The Panthers (5-24, 4-12) were led by Braelon Bush, who posted 19 points and eight rebounds. Prairie View A&M got 12 points from Zaakir Sawyer. (AP) — Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt's 24 points helped Alcorn State defeat Bethune-Cookman 78-74 on Saturday night. Gaines-Wyatt also had four steals for the Braves (8-17, 8-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Marcus Tankersley scored 23 points, shooting 7 of 16 from the field and 9 for 9 from the line. Djahi Binet had 10 points and shot 5 of 7 from the field. The Wildcats (11-14, 8-4) were led by Trey Thomas, who posted 28 points and two steals. Seneca Willoughby added 16 points for Bethune-Cookman. Kalil Camara finished with 16 points. Both teams play on Monday. Alcorn State visits Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman hosts Jackson State. ___
