Bigg Boss 18's Shilpa Shirodkar recalls how filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt convinced her mother to allow her to step into the industry

Actress and Bigg Boss 18 contestant Shilpa Shirodkar opened up about her early entry into films and how acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt played a pivotal role in shaping her career, during a candid conversation on Gauahar Khan's podcast. Shilpa recalled that her very first opportunity came through Bhatt's film Janam, where she was cast in a one-night sequence as Kumar Gaurav's sister. 'Mahesh Bhatt was looking for a girl to play a sister's role. It was a one night sequence. So our mom said okay, no problem, Shilpa will do it,' she shared. But what followed left a lasting impact. 'Mahesh Bhatt told my mother, 'If your daughter really wants to be an actor, don't waste her talent doing these small, small things. Give her the right training and approach it differently.'' This conversation shifted things at home. Shilpa's mother asked her directly if she truly wanted to pursue acting. 'I remember that very, very clearly. She asked me if I liked being in front of the camera. At that time, I didn't know what that meant. But I thought it was great — no more studies, no more crying over report cards,' Shilpa said with a laugh. 'I said yes, I love it. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 모공각화증, 진짜 원인 알고는 바로 해결했어요 현명한소비자 Undo It felt like the right thing to do.' From there, her journey began. Shilpa recalled going to shoots with her mother, auditioning for a Johnson's Baby Oil ad, and later signing her first film. 'I used to go with my mother to shoots. I was this rolly polly, fat but chubby child,' she smiled. Her turning point came after failing her 10th grade. 'I passed one subject, failed the other. I told my mom — I can either act or study, I can't do both,' she admitted. That bold decision laid the foundation for a long-lasting career in entertainment.

The embassy also greeted the President in English and in their own language alongside the Santhali greetings. Decision Pending THE CONGRESS high command is yet to finalise the appointment of its district committees (DCC) in Gujarat — a pilot project for empowering DCCs across the country — but it has already held meetings with AICC observers appointed to oversee the same exercise in Haryana and MP. Sources said the observers for the two states met the Congress high command virtually Friday. The observers submitted reports to the party leadership and gave suggestions for DCC chiefs, it is learnt. For Gujarat, the observers had submitted the reports for each district more than a month ago, but the appointments are pending. Insignia of Honour TO APPRECIATE the hard work of jail staff in Delhi Prisons, DG (Prisons) Satish Golcha has approved a new insignia — specifying Delhi Karagaar in red and blue and including the national emblem — for all the uniformed personnel in the department, asking them to wear it on the upper right side, above the name tag, from July 1. A communication to senior jail staff stated that Delhi Prisons is a torch-bearer institution of the country for its various correctional programmes for its inmates. It is important to highlight that throughout the three waves of Covid-19 pandemic, the Delhi Prisons administration has tirelessly endeavoured to safeguard the health of around 20,000 inmates from the risk of infection in the confined environment of the prisons, the communication stated.
