Udaipur Files Producer Amit Jani Granted Y-Category Security with Restricted Movement

Last Updated: Producer Amit Jani of Udaipur Files gets Y-category security from the Central government due to threats. The protection includes 11 CRPF personnel, limited to North India. Amit Jani, the producer of the controversial upcoming film Udaipur Files, has been granted Y-category security following threats received in connection with the project. The Central government has sanctioned this security arrangement, although it will only be effective in parts of North India. The Ministry of Home Affairs' Y-category protection includes 11 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel. However, the protection is limited to specific regions, including Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. This means Jani will not have access to the same level of security in other parts of the country. Confirming the news, Jani expressed his gratitude on social media. Sharing the update on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, 'Heartfelt thanks to Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji for providing Y category security to the Centre @narendramodi @AmitShah @HMOIndia @PMOIndia". Take a look: केंद्र की Y श्रेणी सुरक्षा देने के लिए माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जी और गृह मंत्री श्री अमित शाह जी का हार्दिक धन्यवाद @narendramodi @AmitShah @HMOIndia @PMOIndia — Amit Jani (@AmitJaniIND) July 27, 2025 Udaipur Files is based on the real-life murder of Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor from Udaipur who was killed in 2022 after he allegedly posted content on social media in support of BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Her comments on the Prophet Muhammad had sparked a nationwide controversy at the time. Following the murder, the accused had uploaded a video online, claiming responsibility for the act and stating that it was in retaliation for the tailor's online post. One of the accused in the case, Javed, approached the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the release of the film. Earlier, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ordered 150 cuts in the film before clearing it for release. Initially scheduled to hit theatres on July 11, 2025, Udaipur Files: Kanhaiya Lal Tailor Murder will now release on August 8, 2025. The film features Vijay Raaz in the lead role and has faced delays due to censorship and legal hurdles. Jani said Q1 results for O2C and retail businesses were below market expectations, while telecom unit results were in line with expectations. Synopsis Reliance Industries' shares experienced a decline of over 3% on Monday. This followed the release of Q1 earnings that were lower than anticipated. Investors reacted to the results and a deferred IPO plan. Despite the dip, brokerages maintain a positive outlook on the company. They foresee potential growth triggers in the near future. Mumbai: Shares of Reliance Industries dropped over 3% on Monday as investors weighed the conglomerate's lower-than-expected Q1 earnings against analysts' positive outlook on stock after results. Stock ended at ₹1,428.6 on Monday, down 3.2%, capping gains in Sensex and Nifty, which ended 0.5% higher. ADVERTISEMENT "Reliance shares had recently rallied on expectations of strong quarterly results and a potential IPO announcement for its telecom business," said Sumit Pokharna, VP, fundamental research, Kotak Securities. "But, the management's clarification the IPO is deferred to next year had earlier led to some correction, and combined with results below Street estimates, we saw some profit-booking." The stock has gone up about 17% so far this year, against Nifty's 5.7% gains. PAT in June quarter stood at ₹30,681 crore, up 36.8% from January-March. Its revenues from operations stood at ₹2,48,660 crore, down 6% from previous quarter. It had recorded a one-time gain from selling its stake in Asian Paints for nearly ₹8,900 crore. Brokerages remain positive on company, with most retaining 'buy' and 'add' ratings post results. Price targets imply an upside of 8-19% from current levels. "We see 3 growth triggers for RIL in near term: scale-up of new energy business; Jio tariff hikes; and potential IPO/listing for Jio which has now been pushed beyond 2025," said Nomura. The stock may underperform in near term. "In absence of clear catalysts, stock may remain a laggard," said Hemang Jani, director at Finazenn. Eight youngsters cheated of Rs 31L with high-salary jobs in Albania

Rajkot: Eight youngsters from Junagadh, who were aspiring to work overseas, are facing a bleak future after being duped of Rs 31.10 lakh by three people who promised to secure them high-paying jobs in Albania, Europe. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Based on the complaint filed by 22-year-old BA student Bhumit Gohel, the Junagadh City C Division police booked Nihar Jani and his associates, Manoj Rawal and Keshu Keshwala, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Gohel said that around 10–11 months ago, he learned from his friend Mayur Chauhan about a travel and tour office named 'UV Tour' in Junagadh that facilitated foreign employment. Gohel was introduced to Jani, who claimed that job prospects and salaries in Europe were far better than those in Dubai. Gohel's neighbour, Jaydeep Mewada, also told him that he was applying for a job in Belarus through Jani. Jani told Gohel that the process would take three months and would cost Rs 5 lakh in total, Rs 50,000 as an advance and the rest at the time of visa and ticket issuance. Gohel paid the advance in two instalments. Later, Jani informed Gohel that Belarus was offering lower salaries and suggested Albania instead, where monthly salaries could range between Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000. Gohel agreed, and the process for Albania began. Jani eventually told him and others that their visas were ready and asked them to deposit the remaining amounts, which they did. Jani informed the group that their flight to Albania was scheduled for Feb 10, 2025, from Mumbai. The group was instructed to reach Anand by Feb 8 and proceed to Mumbai. Upon reaching Anand, they met Jalpesh, Manoj Rawal, and others, who assured them that tickets and offer letters would be handed over at the Mumbai airport. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The group reached Mumbai on Feb 9 and booked a hotel at their own expense. When they contacted Jani for their tickets and offer letters, he claimed there was a delay and they would receive tickets after three days. However, even after staying in Mumbai for 12–13 days, no documents were provided. Their money exhausted, the youths were preparing to return to Junagadh when Jani transferred Rs 25,000 via UPI, allowing them to stay in Mumbai for four more days. When those funds also ran out, they finally returned to Junagadh on March 5, 2025. Having realised that they were cheated, Gohel approached the police with a complaint.
