Broncos predicted to take a step back in 2025

Broncos predicted to take a step back in 2025 The Denver Broncos took a huge step forward last season, reaching the NFL playoffs with a 10-7 record while starting a rookie quarterback. Many fans and pundits now expect the club to take another leap in 2025. Not everyone is confident the team will continue progressing, though. Touchdown Wire's Jarrett Bailey recently released his 2025 record predictions for each team, and he has the Broncos taking a step backward this fall. Bailey has predicted Denver will go 8-9, finishing behind the Los Angeles Chargers (9-8) and Kansas City Chiefs (14-3), above only the Las Vegas Raiders (8-9) in the AFC West. "Denver's defense will be one of the best in the league, but the offense will take a step back with a lack of top weapons," Bailey wrote for Touchdown Wire. It will be fascinating to track how that prediction ages in 2025 as quarterback Bo Nix enters his second season. Sean Payton's squad averaged 25 points per game in 2024, which ranked 10th in the NFL. Bailey expects two fewer wins and worse offensive production this year. Time will tell. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

NFL analyst predicts Rams to go 11-6 in 2025, earn No. 3 seed in NFC

NFL analyst predicts Rams to go 11-6 in 2025, earn No. 3 seed in NFC It wasn't until late in the 2024 season that the Los Angeles Rams were considered one of the best teams in football. They started the year 1-4 before storming all the way back to finish 10-7 and win the NFC West, taking down the Minnesota Vikings with ease in the wild-card round. Heading into 2025, expectations are even higher than they were at the start of last season, putting Los Angeles firmly in a group of teams that have a legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl. Touchdown Wire's Jarrett Bailey is among the many analysts who believe the Rams are poised for a strong season, as evidenced by his record predictions for each team. He has the Rams going 11-6 and winning the West for the second straight season, earning the No. 3 seed in the NFC. He has the 49ers going 10-7, the Cardinals winning eight games and the Seahawks finishing 5-12, with the Rams and Niners being the two playoff representatives from the West. The Rams were mere plays from the Super Bowl this past season, and they just added Davante Adams to their offense. They will be in the handful of teams expected to win the Super Bowl. FOX Sports' Henry McKenna had a similar outlook for the Rams, picking them to be the No. 2 seed and win three playoff games – all against NFC East teams – to reach the Super Bowl and lose to the Bills. With a young core in place and proven veterans such as Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, Rob Havenstein and Tyler Higbee, the Rams are a perfect blend of youth and experience. That should bode well for them in 2025 as they attempt to make a deeper playoff run.

Touchdown Wire projects disappointing season for Arizona Cardinals

Touchdown Wire projects disappointing season for Arizona Cardinals Touchdown Wire's Jarrett Bailey predicts a sub-.500 season for the Cardinals in 2025 The Arizona Cardinals clearly have improved their roster, especially defensively. After an 8-9 season in 2024 when they lost five of their final seven games, they should be ready to compete for the division title. That would be a logical belief, right? Perhaps it is not. After a recent projection that the Cardinals would not win more than they did last season, Touchdown Wire's Jarrett Bailey's season projections have the Cardinals falling short of their goals. Bailey has the Cardinals in third place in the NFC West for the second straight year and finishing 8-9, just like last season. He recognizes their potential, though. Arizona is another team I may be too low on. They won eight games last season and got better on defense. Don't be surprised if they're a Wild Card team. It is going to be a competitive division for sure. The Rams still look good and added Davante Adams to their offense. The 49ers' bad year in 2024 seems like a one-off, and even though they lost a ton of players in the offseason, they have players on the roster who are ready to fill those roles. As such, it makes sense to perhaps underrate the Cardinals and what they can do. But if they won eight games last season and are a better team in 2025, vastly so defensively in terms of talent, they should win more, right? We will see. Expert predicts Chiefs will win AFC West, earn AFC's No. 1 playoff seed in 2025

Expert predicts Chiefs will win AFC West, earn AFC's No. 1 playoff seed in 2025 The Kansas City Chiefs will face high expectations in 2025, but one expert believes the reigning AFC champions have what it takes to put themselves in a position to play in a fourth consecutive Super Bowl. In a recent article that predicts how the NFL's 2025 season might play out, Touchdown Wire's Jarrett Bailey made the case for Kansas City's continued dominance in the AFC West: "The Chiefs aren't going anywhere, despite what fans of every other team in the division seem to think/try to manifest. As long as Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are there, the Chiefs will be on top. Jim Harbaugh wants to play offense like it's 1964, which will only take the Chargers so far. They could be a playoff team, but their ceiling is low. Denver's defense will be one of the best in the league, but the offense will take a step back with a lack of top weapons." In the end, Bailey predicted that the Chiefs would end their 2025 regular season campaign with a 14-3 record, a mark high enough to earn the coveted No. 1 seed for the AFC playoffs. While it is far too early to tell if Kansas City's new-look roster will be able to bounce back after the Chiefs' defeat in Super Bowl LIX earlier this year, it may be a good omen for the team if experts like Bailey are bullish on their prospects next season.

Broncos fall out of top 12 in pre-draft NFL power rankings

The Denver Broncos are ranked 13th in Jarrett Bailey's pre-draft NFL power rankings for Touchdown Wire. They're ranked sixth in the conference and third in the AFC West. "I love the defense," Bailey wrote on Touchdown Wire. "Nik Bonitto and Zach Allen deserve much more credit than they get, and Patrick Surtain just won the Defensive Player of the Year." Despite having praise for their defense and admitting that he underestimated the team last year, Bailey is not yet ready to call them a true contender. "[W]hile Denver proved me wrong [in 2024], I'm still not sold on them being a powerhouse. That said, they'll be competitive and back in the Wild Card picture." Elsewhere in the division, the Kansas City Chiefs are ranked No. 2, Los Angeles Chargers are ranked No. 12 and the Las Vegas Raiders are ranked No. 18.
