NFL analyst predicts Rams to go 11-6 in 2025, earn No. 3 seed in NFC
It wasn't until late in the 2024 season that the Los Angeles Rams were considered one of the best teams in football. They started the year 1-4 before storming all the way back to finish 10-7 and win the NFC West, taking down the Minnesota Vikings with ease in the wild-card round.
Heading into 2025, expectations are even higher than they were at the start of last season, putting Los Angeles firmly in a group of teams that have a legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl.
Touchdown Wire's Jarrett Bailey is among the many analysts who believe the Rams are poised for a strong season, as evidenced by his record predictions for each team. He has the Rams going 11-6 and winning the West for the second straight season, earning the No. 3 seed in the NFC.
He has the 49ers going 10-7, the Cardinals winning eight games and the Seahawks finishing 5-12, with the Rams and Niners being the two playoff representatives from the West.
The Rams were mere plays from the Super Bowl this past season, and they just added Davante Adams to their offense. They will be in the handful of teams expected to win the Super Bowl.
FOX Sports' Henry McKenna had a similar outlook for the Rams, picking them to be the No. 2 seed and win three playoff games – all against NFC East teams – to reach the Super Bowl and lose to the Bills.
With a young core in place and proven veterans such as Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, Rob Havenstein and Tyler Higbee, the Rams are a perfect blend of youth and experience. That should bode well for them in 2025 as they attempt to make a deeper playoff run.

Bills Trade for Bengals Stud Trey Hendrickson Proposed by ESPN

Bills Trade for Bengals Stud Trey Hendrickson Proposed by ESPN originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Buffalo Bills are without a doubt "all in.'' And so the idea of Bills Mafia being able to get its hands on Trey Hendrickson has not - and should not - go away. Advertisement The Bengals superstar edge Hendrickson - coming off a career-best 17.5 sacks - has been mired in the same situation all offseason. A few months ago, he seemed optimistic about staying in Cincy. 'Inevitably, the goal is to win a Super Bowl for Cincinnati,' he said, 'What that looks like this season, whether it's something we can agree on in terms, that would be great. …'' Well, it's not something they've agreed upon. We're told he wants $30 million per year in a new extension, which frankly does not seem unreasonable. But Cincy has not budged, and now the player is accusing the front office of lying to him. Advertisement "We would like to get Trey extended?" exec Duke Tobin told The Cincinnati Enquirer earlier this offseason. "Yes, he's an important part that played well for us, right? We can't have guys at the top of the payroll in every position, right? We'll do what we can. We'll do what we what we feel is right, and we will try to get Trey re-signed." They've tried that. They also tried to trade him. And now the player is threatening to sit out the season in protest. ESPN has an answer, or so it thinks: Dan Graziano says Buffalo should offer a 2026 second-round draft pick to Cincy. "I could see Buffalo pouncing to secure the veteran edge rusher it needs to take down Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs,'' he writes. "With offseason pickup Joey Bosa already injured, this move would help the Bills' pass rush add a stronger, healthier option. Hendrickson might not get the new contract of his dreams, but perhaps Bills general manager Brandon Beane could sell him on an improved chance to get to the Super Bowl." Advertisement That all seems wildly rosy to us, but ... No Bills player last year had double-digit sacks, and only Gregory Rousseau had double-digit tackles-for-loss, with 16, to go along with a team-leading eight sacks. And Bosa is indeed hurt, though only until training camp. Is Hendrickson the addition needed to get the Bills over the hump that is the Chiefs remains to be seen, but he would be a major addition for a Bills team that is seen as the biggest contender to the Chiefs in the AFC. Hendrickson has star quality. He's got 70.5 sacks in the last four years, putting him in a class with T.J. Watt (73.5) and Myles Garrett (72). Advertisement So if the Bengals ever sell? Sure ... The Bills should try to buy. Saquon Barkley's retirement admission will concern Eagles fans

The post Saquon Barkley's retirement admission will concern Eagles fans appeared first on ClutchPoints. All NFL players think about retirement. It comes whenever the players feel like they can't give their all anymore to the game. Retirement also comes up due to injury, and we saw that Derek Carr called it quits most recently due to an injured shoulder. Advertisement You have players like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning who always had that question hovering over them as their careers waned, or you have Larry Fitzgerald, who backed out quietly. Still, the most notable shock retirement was Barry Sanders, who decided on a whim that he was done playing football. Sanders' retirement came up once again after star Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley said that he admired how he did it and would like to emulate that when he decides to retire. Appearing on the podcast, Green Light with Chris Long, Barkley said, 'My favorite player of all time is Barry Sanders. Probably something similar to that. I'll be balling and be like, 'Yeah,' and call it quits.' This is a bit concerning for fans because Barkley is currently the best running back in the NFL and was in the MVP conversation for most of last season. He ended the 2024 campaign with 2,005 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns on 345 carries. Barkley had a career season in his first season with his new team. Barkley was drafted second overall in the 2018 NFL Draft by the New York Giants and was instantly an electric playmaker in the NFL. He carried the Giants when needed, but because he had such a high workload, he dealt with many injuries near the end of his tenure in New York. Advertisement The Eagles have much more on offense for every team to account for on defense, with Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown being one of the best quarterback-to-wide receiver duos in the NFL. That allows Barkley to have much less pressure on him, and it led to his best season he's ever had, and it led to a Super Bowl ring. If his 2024 is any indication, Barkley still has plenty left in the tank in his NFL career. However, his comments on wanting to retire are concerning because it might happen out of the blue for fans. Still, with his career rejuvenated, Eagles fans should enjoy him while they have him. The Scottish secret behind the Eagles' Tush Push

The post The Scottish secret behind the Eagles' Tush Push appeared first on ClutchPoints. Much has been made over the last few seasons about the tush push, the play that the Philadelphia Eagles made famous to pick up first downs in short yardage situations. The Eagles recently got some good news about the play, as NFL owners elected not to ban it despite safety concerns. Advertisement As it turns out, one of the architects of the tush push is a former rugby player from Scotland named Richie Gray, who has advised the Eagles on various plays and methods due to his prior friendship with Jason Kelce. Recently, Gray outlined the dynamics of why the play is so successful. 'The play is over three levels, firstly, the offensive line. You've got some phenomenal O-line athletes at the Eagles, one of the heaviest in the league, some huge humans,' he said, per Eduardo Tansley of The Athletic. 'You've then got Jalen Hurts, who is pound-for-pound one of the strongest quarterbacks in the league, so the play is completely made for his body type.' Gray then broke down how the play's name is actually misleading. Advertisement 'Then you've got two players in behind him who actually don't add that much at all in the push. It's called the push, but if you watch it, there's actually not a lot of pushing involved in it,' he said. 'It's thought of as a pushing play, but a lot of the time, those two back pushers never get to Hurts. The job's done before then. I always class it as organised mass.' An epic tool for the Eagles Bill Streicher-Imagn Images While some fans may not know about its Scottish origins, there's no doubting how big of an impact the tush push has made in the NFL landscape over the last few years, as the Eagles have converted countless first downs and even touchdowns thanks to the unique lineup configuration. Advertisement The Eagles are now preparing to defend their Super Bowl championship, which they won in dominant fashion over the Kansas City Chiefs this past February. With the tush push still at their disposal, it seems that they will be poised to do just that when next season gets underway.
