The Rooftop by Chef Jay Pisculli now open for the summer months
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WVT/WBGH) – A local restaurant is bringing a fresh look to its rooftop space. The Rooftop by Chef Jay, an extension of Downtown by Chef Jay Pisculli, is launching this summer with an array of food and drinks. The outdoor bar features everything from beer and frozen cocktails to a special menu with burgers, tacos, oysters, and more. Executive Chef Jay Pisculli says the renovated space will provide customers with a beautiful outdoor area to socialize. 'Like I said, if it's nice out, we'll be open. You don't have to go downstairs, you don't have to have a reservation, you can just come right upstairs, grab a seat or grab a drink, and we'd love to see you here,' said Pisculli. The Rooftop features live music on Fridays. A schedule can be found on its Instagram and Facebook accounts. The venue is also available for private parties. ‘Path Though History' explores beauty of Broome County
BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Community members can take a walk through Broome County history this weekend. Broome County, along with Visit Binghamton, is participating in Path Through History, a two-day event that showcases the beauty of the Southern Tier. It will highlight the historical, cultural, and natural elements of the local area with events, exhibits, and tours. 13 destinations across the county are participating, including Kilmer Mansion, Roberson Museum, and the Phelps Mansion. NYSPHSAA Softball Championships to be held this weekend in Broome County
BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH)- Broome County is hosting the annual New York State Softball Championship. On June 13 and 14, Broome County will host athletes and fans from the state as the NYSPHSAA Softball Tournament commences at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park. Top local teams from around the state such as Deposit-Hancock (Class C), and Maine-Endwell (Class A) will compete in the tournament for state titles. As part of a multi-year agreement, Broome County will continue to host this event up until 2027. 'This weekend is a great opportunity to showcase everything Broome County has to offer,' said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar. 'Not only do we have the top players coming to play at our state-of-the-art complex, but we're also welcoming families from across New York to enjoy our restaurants, hotels, parks, and small businesses. Animal Adventure Presents Annual ‘Drafts with Giraffes'
HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Adult animal lovers are invited to share some beverages with some of Animal Adventure Park's residents. On June 13, individuals aged 21 and older are invited to leave the kids at home and enjoy a variety of unique beers, seltzers, and ciders among some of the park's animals. There will be live music by local artist Kevin Ludwig as well as more than 25 well-known local food vendors like McGirks's Irish Pub, Smokeout BBQ, and The Popcorn Guy. The park will close to the general public at 3p.m. on Saturday and reopen from 5 to 8 for the event. Tickets can be purchased here.
