Fulton County prosecutors ask to have Young Thug's probation revoked
Channel 2 Action News has learned prosecutors with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office have filed a motion to revoke the probation for hip hop superstar Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams. A document obtained by Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne says, 'Since sentencing, the Defendant has engaged in conduct that threatens the safety of witnesses and prosecutors, compromises ongoing legal proceedings, and warrants immediate revocation of probation.' The motion says, 'the integrity of this court, and the safety of those involved in this prosecution are at stake.' Young Thug pleaded guilty as part of a non-negotiated plea in December. Nine other defendants took plea deals before the trial began, including rapper Gunna. The trial was the longest criminal trial in Georgia history. It took 10 months alone just to select the jury and testimony didn't begin until a year ago in Nov. 2023. Here's where Young Thug will perform for the first time since his release from jail
Rapper Young Thug is heading back to the stage for the first time since his more than two-year stint in jail. The rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, was released from jail last year after pleading guilty to lesser charges in the RICO trial of alleged criminal street gang Young Slime Life. It now appears that Williams has set his first concert date since his arrest at an Illinois music festival. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Hip-hop music festival Stage Smash, scheduled for June 20 to 22 in Bridgeport, Illinois, announced Young Thug among its lineup of headliners. He's set to headline on Sunday, June 22. Among the festival's other performers that day are metro Atlanta rappers Lil Yachty and Quavo. Young Thug's jewelry seized during raid going back to rapper, jewelry company
A Fulton County judge signed an order for the state to release jewelry seized during a raid at rapper Young Thug's house. Channel 2 Action News has been following developments in the rapper's case since his arrest in May 2022 as part of a sweeping gang indictment. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Earlier this month, Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, filed a motion to get back $149,426 in cash, as well as expensive jewelry and luxury cars. New court documents show that Judge Paige Whitaker signed a consent order after the state, Young Thug and jeweler Rafello & Company agreed that the jewelry would go back to the parties. The items include: Rolex Datejust watch; 'King Slime' engraved on rear; Diamond cross pendant (approx. 17 grams); Necklace with circular and square green jewels (approx. 83 grams); Diamond double row tennis necklace; Two (2) diamond stud earrings (approx. 7 grams) and (approximately 4 grams); Diamond ring with 13 diamonds on band (approximate total weight of ring: 18 grams) No ruling has been made yet on Young Thug's cash and cars.
