Hoda Kotb returns to host 'Today' with Jenna Bush Hager: What to know
Hoda Kotb is coming home to the fourth hour of "Today" for one day only. The morning show fan favorite will join her former co-host Jenna Bush Hager on Wednesday, May 28, to debut a new wellness company and co-host "Jenna and Friends." "Surprise! Our girl @hodakotb is our #JennaandFriends co-host tomorrow 🩷 Tune in!" the show's official Instagram page posted. Bush Hager previously teased the news on a May 22 broadcast, giving viewers a clue about a mystery guest co-host: "They are a former basketball star turned bestselling author," Bush Hager said. "Who is it? Nobody knows." A 2018 article from the "Making Space" podcast host's hometown newspaper said she lettered in basketball in high school. Kotb has authored several books including "I Really Needed This Today," "I've Loved You Since Forever" and "This Just Speaks to Me." Sheinelle Jones' 'Today' family reacts after husband Uche Ojeh dies of aggressive cancer After exiting "Today" in January, Kotb returned to the morning show in March to promote her forthcoming book "Jump and Find Joy: Embracing Change in Every Season of Life," an aptly titled nod to her next chapter. She stepped back from the "Today" franchise to focus on her life as a mom to her two young daughters, Haley and Hope. On April 28, a month to the day ahead of its launch, Kotb posted an Instagram video to celebrate one month until the wellness company arrived. "I'm bursting, and I can't wait to share it with you," Kotb told fans, adding that she was "so excited" about her buzzy project. Kotb announced her departure from "Today" in late September and later told the morning show's audience that her last day would be Jan. 10. Hager started hosting the fourth hour on "Jenna & Friends" with a slew of rotating fill-in co-hosts since Jan. 13. She was replaced on the first two hours of "Today" by Craig Melvin, who now co-host the show opposite of Savannah Guthrie and continues to host the third hour of "Today" opposite Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer and Sheinelle Jones. Jones has been absent since December amid the brain cancer battle of her late husband Uche Ojeh. Hoda Kotb Just Addressed 'Kelly Clarkson Show' Rumors
Hoda Kotb is back on Today this week, where she's resumed her cohosting spot on Jenna & Friends—just for one morning. But, before she took her seat alongside Jenna Bush Hager, she sat down with her friends Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin for an interview. Hoda left the show in January after a 26-year career with NBC News. But during her appearance this morning, she took time to clear the air on a rumor that has been running rampant on social media. Namely, that she will be replacing Kelly Clarkson on her daytime talk show. Last week, celebrity gossip account DeuxMois reported that the change was coming and the announcement would be made soon. The unfounded report was bolstered by Kelly's unexplained absence from her talk show earlier this year and rumors that she was looking to leave once her contract was up. (Kelly has not spoken publicly on either of these matters.) But leave it to Hoda to set the record straight. When asked about the rumor, she said, "If I ever came back to TV, do you know where the only place I would ever come back to is? Right here. This is the spot. Delete, delete. It's not true." Craig chimed in with, "So the rumors are done." And Savannah added, "Just rumors, not true." View this post on Instagram A post shared by TODAY (@todayshow) Well, that settles that! Of course, that led some fans to comment that they want Hoda back on Today. They left comments like "Please come back 😭😭😭" and "Come on Hoda, we miss you terribly." We're glad to put this rumor to rest, although we were looking forward to a Hoda version of Kellyoke... Is Anyone But You Sequel On Cards? Here's What Sydney Sweeney Said
Last Updated: Anyone But You follows two people who fall out after a promising first date but end up pretending to be the perfect couple during a destination wedding in Australia. A clear answer might still be missing, but Sydney Sweeney isn't ruling anything out just yet. The Anyone But You star has once again fuelled curiosity around a possible sequel to the 2023 rom-com, saying she doesn't have anything concrete to share right now. In a recent interview with Empire, the 27-year-old actress said, 'You'll just have to wait and see. It's not a no, and it's not a yes. It's a, 'I don't have an answer that I can say for you.'" Sydney, who starred alongside Glen Powell in the film, has kept things vague for a while now. Earlier this year, during the Madame Web premiere in February, she gave a similar response when E! News asked about reuniting with Glen for another project. 'I can't actually reveal all of my secrets," she said. 'But Glen and I—I mean, I was talking to him this morning—we're talking about stuff." When the reporter tried to clarify whether 'stuff" meant a sequel, she replied, 'You never know, you'll have to wait and see." Glen, too, has been careful not to spill anything. But when E! News had shared Sydney's comments on Instagram, he reacted with a set of emojis that included a zipped mouth, a heart, prayer hands and sunglasses. That subtle reaction was enough to leave fans guessing even more. Sydney and Glen's off-screen bond has been a topic of interest ever since the release of the film. Rumours of a possible real-life romance started when they were seen spending time together, especially after Sydney's breakup with her ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino earlier this year. The speculation grew stronger when she attended Glen's sister's wedding in Texas. But both the actors have maintained that they are just close friends. Glen spoke about Sydney's connection with his family during his appearance on Jenna & Friends in April, saying, 'She and Syd are obviously great friends. It was a hell of a wedding. The Powells know how to do it right." He also joked about the timing, adding, 'Timing is everything in this world, isn't it?" Even Glen's mother, Cyndy Powell, stepped in to clear things up, telling the press, 'They're definitely not together." 'We love Sydney. We've considered her just a really, really good friend. We were all together so much and we haven't seen her in a long time. She's really a friend and we all enjoy her," she told the Daily Mail. Directed by Will Gluck, Anyone But You follows Bea and Ben, two people who fall out after a promising first date but end up pretending to be the perfect couple during a destination wedding in Australia. Savannah Guthrie shares the reason her son doesn't want her at his school party
Savannah Guthrie's 8-year-old son is full-fledged 'embarrassed' of his mom. 'My kids are so embarrassed of me right now, and do you know what I tell them? 'Loud moms build character,'' Savannah said during TODAY with Jenna & Friends on May 20. Savannah and her husband, Mike Feldman, share 10-year-old daughter Vale and 8-year-old son Charley. TODAY co-host Jenna Bush Hager felt Savannah's confusion with her children, Mila, 12, and Poppy, 9 and son Hal, 5, with husband Henry Hager. 'Now, when I'm listening to music, they turn it down when they get out of the car,' said Jenna. 'I'm like, 'Why are you embarrassed of me singing along to Gracie Abrams?'' while mimicking her children's 'shushing' motion. Savannah concluded, 'Everything we do humiliates them.' The mother of two shared that Charley had requested more independence from his mom by disinviting her to a school event. 'My little boy — he's 8 — they're having 'May Day' at school, which is a little event and there's an afterparty in their second-grade homeroom,' said Savannah. 'He literally said to me this morning, 'Mommy, I want you to come to May Day, but I do not want you to come to the afterparty.'' Savannah continued, 'I said, 'Why?' and he was like, 'It's gotten around that some people know you work on the news and it's weird and it's embarrassing' ... He's like, 'We don't need that. We don't need that attention so, you're not invited to the afterparty.'' When Savannah said she pointed out to her son, 'But I'm bringing the juice boxes!' she said Charley replied, 'Could you just drop off the juice boxes?' so she agreed to give him space. In 2023, Jenna teased that embarrassing her children 'is one of the best joys of parenthood,' particularly while driving her eldest child, Mila, to school. Jenna said she would blast 'the clean version' of Cardi B music as her daughter cringed. When Jenna dared Savannah to walk into Charley's afterparty and start singing, Savannah responded, 'He'll die — I know.' This article was originally published on
