Has Tastefully Yours been renewed for Season 2? Here's what we know:
Renewed Or Cancelled? Tastefully Yours is the latest quirky K-drama, boasting compelling characters and a really compelling story. This one has been quite the rollercoaster over the past weeks and has certainly resonated with its audience. If you've been following this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Well, wonder no more. Here's what we know about a renewal: What is Tastefully Yours about? Tastefully Yours tells the story of Han Beom-u, the successor of a large food company, who runs the best fine dining restaurant in Seoul. However, he but has no interest in 'taste'. His counterpart happens to be Mo Yeon-ju, a chef crazy about 'taste' who runs a one-table restaurant without a sign in a remote corner of the countryside. These two grow together and fall in love while running a small restaurant in the city of Miraek, Jeonju! We have ongoing coverage of Tastefully Yours on the site, including recaps for every episode. You can find those HERE! Has Tastefully Yours been renewed for season 2? At the time of writing, ENA and Genie TV have not renewed Tastefully Yours for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it'll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up. ENA do have ratings available to look over here, with the first episode beginning with a respectable 1.6% share and since then it's been growing, with later episodes peaking at about 3%, which is pretty good for a mid-week K-drama. Most k-dramas do wrap up their stories in a single season though, and it's generally very rare – but not impossible – to find these sort of shows renewed. This one doesn't look like it's going to buck the trend and is unlikely to be renewed in the future. We'll be sure to update this section with more details as they become available. What we know about season 2 so far: Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, it's rare to find these sort of shows renewed. With the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed. Having said that though, we have seen Taxi Driver and Tale of the Nine Tailed renewed recently, alongside Alchemy of Souls too. Given how steady the ratings are for this series, could we see this one buck the trend? It seems very unlikely that Tastefully Yours will, but you never know! We'll be sure to update this section when we know more. Would you like to see Tastefully Yours return for a second season? Or do you think the story has run its course? Two Food Lovers Meet In Search Of A Recipe In ‘Tastefully Yours'
The characters played by Kang Ha-neul and Go Min-si have very different takes on fine dining. Viewers of the k-drama Tastefully Yours may not initially like the character Han Beom-woo. He's kind of obnoxious. He's inconsiderate and pretentious, all qualities he comes by naturally. It's the way he was raised. His family runs a food empire and they are so competitive, he's encouraged to compete with his own brother. Beom-soo, played by Kang Ha-neul, works for the family business, but his real obsession is with his restaurant Motto. His brother (Bae Na-ra) also has a restaurant and whichever brother first earns three gold stars for his own restaurant will be chosen to run the family corporation. Both brothers are working hard to make that happen. But Beom-woo can't do it alone. Complicating his efforts is Motto's celebrity chef, Jang Young-hye, played by Hong Hwa-yeon (Buried Hearts, True to Love, Mental Coach Jegal). Young-hye is not as invested in the restaurant's ranking as Beom-woo so she's more casual about deadlines, which concerns him. There's a dish he wants to put on the menu that he's waiting for her to make. When someone posts a photo of a similar looking dish online, he goes all the way to Jeonju to see the dish for himself. Beom-woo is about to get the recipe for transforming his life. Go Min-si's character runs a restaurant in Jeonju that Kang Ha-neul's character wants to buy. The photo-posting restaurant turns out to be pretty obscure. It's not just hard to find, it seems to be a failure, at least in terms of making enough money to pay the rent. The homey restaurant is run by Mo Yeon-joo, played by Go Min-si (Sweet Home, Love Alarm and Youth of May) . Yeon-joo loves to cook for the sake of cooking, rather than for any restaurant ranking. After tasting her farm-to-table fare, Beom-soo is impressed. He offers to acquire her restaurant for his family's company, but Yeon-joo is not selling. Still, there is something about the flavor of her food that appeals to Beom-woo's senses. While these characters have different takes on fine dining, he's quick to recognize that she's a gifted chef. His plan for Motto's success may not work without the right chef to help create gold star worthy recipes. Yeon-joo may be just the right chef. Kang Ha-neul also appears in three films this year, Yadang: The Snitch, Streaming and Wall to Wall. The actor starred in the dramas Squid Game 2, Curtain Call, The Kidnapping Day and When The Camellia Blooms. Tastefully Yours is directed by Park Dan-hee, who directed Weak Hero Class 1. The drama airs on Netflix.
