Thailand awaits more details as US says trade deal reached ahead of tariff deadline
US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Washington has secured trade deals with Thailand and Cambodia. Thailand's finance minister said he is expecting more information on the precise rate of tariffs, while Cambodia's deputy prime minister said he is not aware any new agreement had been reached. Cambodia bans imports of Thai fruit, vegetables as border tensions simmer
Cambodia has banned imports of fruit and vegetables from Thailand, as tensions continue to simmer from a long-standing dispute made worse by a recent skirmish. Cambodian officials said Thailand continues to impose border restrictions, despite being given a 24-hour ultimatum yesterday to lift them. In a tit-for-tat move, Thailand has barred its citizens from going to work in a casino city in Cambodia. AP correspondent Jeremy Koh reports.
