May 23, 2025 Known for its 'freaky fresh' sandwiches, US-based chain Jimmy John's has officially opened its first UAE branches. The launch brings the brand's signature freshly baked bread, hand-sliced vegetables, and premium meats to four new locations across Dubai and Sharjah. The sandwich shop, which has a cult following in the US, is now serving at First Avenue Mall in Motor City, Aspin Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, the ENOC Station in Meadows, and Sahara Mall in Sharjah. The menu includes a selection of bold-flavoured sandwiches, which can be paired with Jimmy John's own chips for a signature crunch.

Power outages in, near Baton Rouge due to severe weather
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Dangerous winds and strong storms in the Baton Rouge area left thousands without power Tuesday. The National Weather Service said Baton Rouge was placed under an enhanced risk for severe weather Tuesday afternoon with high winds that could blow loose outdoor objects and make driving on the roads difficult. East Baton Rouge Parish has over 3,000 outages for Entergy Louisiana customers and over 4,000 for DEMCO customers as of after 4:30 p.m. Thousands of outages for DEMCO customers are reported in East Feliciana and St. Helena parishes.
