The once-booming Black Country factory that's been turned into swanky apartments
Wind the clock back 100 years and this place would have been a booming factory turning out top end bicycles and motorcycles. The tall-brick building on Paul Street, overlooking Wolverhampton's ring road, was once part of Sunbeamland. The area was named after the cluster of factories that rose up as part of the Sunbeam motorcycle works. For the next 50 years, the city's famed bicycles and motorcycles were manufactured here until closure in 1937. The Sunbeam Factory, which was built in the early 1900s, still stands today with the company's name adorned on its walls. Industrial use continued there until 1990 before the building fell into disrepair for around 25 years. However it was snapped up by developers for £7.5million and planning permission was given for the conversion of 171 luxury apartments in 2022. Now apartments have gone on sale offering a "modern and lavish living experience" - but you'll have to fork out more than the UK average if you want to live at the former Sunbeam Factory. Latest statistics put the average rent price of a two-bedroom apartment at £1,124 per month in the United Kingdom. However if you'd like to live at the Sunbeam Factory, estate agents are asking for £1,600 per month. But residents will benefit from a fully-equipped gymnasium, co-working rooms and lounge areas, a barista bar and landscaped gardens to unwind and enjoy nature. In addition, apartments come with air conditioning, a 55-inch Sky Glass TV with ultimate package and kitted out rooms. An advert for the property on Rightmove said: "Introducing Sunbeam Apartments, where elegance meets comfort for a truly luxurious living experience. "Each apartment is equipped with top-of-the-line amenities to ensure a modern and lavish living experience. "A range of studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedroom apartments, designed to offer modern living at its finest. "Each residence at Sunbeam Apartments boasts stylish interiors and state-of-the-art amenities, ensuring a superior standard of comfort and convenience."

Red Dead Redemption cast take notes from the Persona 4 school of early announcement teasers with Arthur Morgan's actor now seemingly confirming Red Dead news
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's seemingly increasingly likely that Red Dead Redemption fans have something to be excited about, as another actor from the series has teased an upcoming announcement of some sort. Late last week, John Marston actor Rob Wiethoff broke the internet while streaming Red Dead Redemption as he teased that he's "got such exciting news" he can't currently share. Whatever it is, he suggested we should probably find out soon: "By the end of this week, hopefully sooner... definitely before Friday." How mysterious. Obviously, everyone immediately began speculating that it could be something Red Dead Redemption-related, whether that could possibly be a next-gen update for RDR2, a Switch 2 port, or something else entirely. Curiously, he also mentioned that he "won't be the only one sharing" the news, and now, Red Dead Redemption 2's Arthur Morgan actor, Roger Clark, claims he's also in the know. Asked on Twitter if he knows "what the Red Dead news is Rob mentioned," Clark simply says "yes," sharing a GIF of a dog giving a smug smile. Although he's not revealed exactly what the news is, it looks like he might have given something away by the fact that he was specifically asked about some "Red Dead news," and still responded with a metaphorical thumbs up. Even though fans quickly made the assumption, Wiethoff never actually said out loud that his announcement would be related to the series, so it appears that Clark may have inadvertently confirmed that. It really feels like the pair are taking notes from the Persona 4 cast, of which three actors (from the original game and the Golden re-release) ended up speaking publicly about not returning to the JRPG's remake… before Persona 4 Revival was actually announced. Needless to say, the remake's reveal wasn't exactly a shock when it was finally shown, but it was very good news nonetheless. Now, it's Red Dead Redemption fans' time to wait and see what the two actors are teasing. If Wiethoff's original statement holds up, we'll hopefully find out by the end of the week. 15 years later, Red Dead Redemption's John Marston is playing the open-world cowboy game for the first time and reveals why "John is screaming at people for no reason" when riding a horse.

Red Dead Redemption's John Marston actor tries to calm fans down after having "possibly misled" them with his "exciting news" teaser: "I do not make announcements for Rockstar Games"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Red Dead Redemption's John Marston actor Rob Wiethoff has attempted to calm fans down again after he teased some "exciting news" coming this week while playing through the 2010 action-adventure he stars in, now reminding everyone that "I do not make announcements for Rockstar Games." Previously, the stars seemed to be aligning for some sort of Red Dead Redemption-related announcement. Not only did Wiethoff say that "cannot think about anything else, especially playing this game" during his stream, but asked if he knew "what the Red Dead news is Rob mentioned," Red Dead Redemption 2's Arthur Morgan actor Roger Clark said "yes," seemingly confirming it really is something to do with the series. Now though, in a new livestream on his YouTube channel (highlighted by @jonbranham_ on Twitter), Wiethoff says that while "I do have something I'm really excited about, I truly am, and I think you will be too," he now realises that he "possibly misled some people when I announced that I have something to announce that I can't talk about right now. "Just please recognize – and I know that you know this, but let me remind you, I guess – I do not make announcements for Rockstar Games. We all know that, I'm just reminding you I do not make announcements for Rockstar Games. Rockstar Games makes announcements for Rockstar Games, and they don't use me to do that," he laughs. "So please know that, and again I still think that a lot of you are going to be really excited about this news, absolutely." Wiethoff says he still "can't share it with you yet, and I'm so sorry" about that, but assuming his original teaser still holds up, we should be finding out whatever it is in the next few days. Again, Clark's previous comment does indicate that there's something related to Red Dead going on, but anyone hoping for something like a remake, port, or new game should probably temper their expectations at this point. 15 years later, Red Dead Redemption's John Marston is playing the open-world cowboy game for the first time and reveals why "John is screaming at people for no reason" when riding a horse.

There is a Nintendo Direct this week but it's only about one thing
Nintendo has not abandoned its usual plans for a June Direct, but there's no sign this week's will mention Red Dead Redemption 2 or any other new games. The beginning of June managed to start with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, Summer Game Fest, a PlayStation State of Play, and the Xbox Games Showcase. Regardless of what you thought of any of them, it was all very reminiscent of the old school E3 expo, just with far less hands-on previews and interviews. What was missing though, was a Nintendo Direct, which was understandable given the launch of the Switch 2, despite Nintendo normally always having one of its showcases in early or mid-June. Nintendo has now confirmed there's going to be one on Wednesday June 18 at 2pm BST, but according to them it will only last 15 minutes and it's only going to cover one game: the already announced Donkey Kong Bananza. The June Directs are usually 40+ minute epics, featuring a wide range of first and third party titles, many of which are announced for the first time, but Nintendo did all that with the Switch 2 dedicated Direct in April. It's now looking increasingly unlikely that Nintendo will announce any other major new games this year, although, as always with Nintendo, it's impossible to know for sure. After all, they did announce Splatoon Raiders recently, completely out of the blue, on their Nintendo Today! mobile app. There's also the rumour, from the voice actor of John Marston in Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, that there would be some major news this week, which many already interpreted to be a hint at a Nintendo Direct. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. It's not impossible that Nintendo could also briefly mention other first party games in this week's Direct, but it would be unusual to share the limelight with something like Red Dead Redemption 2. Either way, this definitely won't be the last Direct of the year, as Nintendo has a number of games scheduled for 2025, about which we know very little and which don't yet have specific release dates. That includes Metroid Prime 4, Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment, Kirby Air Riders, and Drag X Drive. Those all need to be announced at some point, and we wouldn't be surprised if the Switch 2 Editions of Super Mario Party Jamboree and Kirby And The Forgotten Land also got an extra marketing push before their release this summer – not to mention Pokémon Legends: Z-A in October. More Trending So, there is an awful lot for Nintendo to talk about before it even gets onto the subject of other new games and what's out in 2026. As for Donkey Kong Bananza, we did like what we played in April, but it was a fairly short demo, from what seemed to be an early build, so it was hard to draw any firm conclusions. What we would certainly hope for from the Direct though, is confirmation of who's making it. Nintendo has recently got very bad about crediting its developers and there's currently no clue who's behind Bananza. One popular theory is that it's the same team that usually does the 3D Mario games, so if it is revealed to be them then that has obvious implications for the imminence, or otherwise, of a follow-up to Super Mario Odyssey. 15 years later, Red Dead Redemption's John Marston is playing the open-world cowboy game for the first time and reveals why "John is screaming at people for no reason" when riding a horse
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Rob Wiethoff, the man who plays John Marston in Red Dead Redemption, is finally playing the game for the first time ever, live streaming the PC version of the RPG for our entertainment. As part of that, he has revealed why John seems to be shouting every time he's riding with someone on horseback, even if they're right next to him. "We did performance capture for this game too, but during moments like this, when you're riding with someone, riding and talking, this was actually recorded in a sound booth," Wiethoff explains. Now, I know Weithoff is the actor for John, but it's uncanny how much he just naturally sounds like him. I always assumed he was putting on a voice when he was actually working on John, but now I think that's just how he talks. "What I have seen on here, which is so funny, is that John is screaming at people, for no reason sometimes [...] I remember them saying, 'You have to say your lines in a way that they would definitely be heard even if you are riding at a full gallop next to a freight train in a thunderstorm.' So just really scream them out loud because you definitely want the other person to hear you." As an open world game with dynamic weather and day and night cycles, there really could be times when that exact scenario was happening, so John would need to be shouting to be heard. But it doesn't make much sense for him to be screaming when you're trotting next to someone on a nice sunny day. "But that was before [Rockstar] had the technology they have now, where if you're within a certain distance, the game knows it somehow and it will use the quieter version," Wiethoff says. "So in the second game we recorded everything twice, in this game we just did it once. John Marston John Marstoning from r/reddeadredemption As well as regaling us with tales of how the game was made, it turns out Weitoff's a real-life cowboy, because he shoots a hat out of the air without dead eye in the tutorial level for the game's iconic mechanic. "Come on, throw it!" he shouts just before a character tosses their hat in the air. Then, without using dead eye like he's supposed to, he simply aims up and shoots the thing. "Oh ho hooooo, I thought I missed it," he shouts excitedly. Maybe the loudness in the first game isn't actually due to technical reasons after all.
