The 50-year-old former TV personality has started to share more about her life as a nurse and dog mom on the appNEED TO KNOW Alexis Gosselin, the 21-year-old former star of Jon & Kate Plus 8, made a rare appearance in a video with her mom Kate on Aug. 9 Kate, 50, started posting to TikTok in July, sharing updates from her life as a nurse and dog mom The mom of eight recently celebrated her sextuplet's 21st birthday in May, posting a photo clinking glasses with kids Alexis, Aaden, Leah and JoelKate Gosselin is showing love for her daughter Alexis. Several weeks after the 50-year-old former TV personality opened her TikTok account, she shared a video packing her lunch for a work shift — which included a brief appearance by her 21-year-old daughter Alexis. In the clip, which Kate posted on Aug. 9, she is preparing a salad while Alexis walks through the kitchen on her way out of the house. 'Ride carefully, and text me when you get there, please,' the mom of eight tells her daughter, to which Alexis replies, 'Love you!' Alexis, the first of Kate's sextuplets to be born, has lived a fairly private life in the years following the end of her family's TV show. Kate's video was the latest in a series of clips she has been sharing to TikTok over the last few weeks after she first started her account in July. 'There's going to be a lot of dogs on it — and kids — but mostly dogs,' shared the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star about her new social media page in a video on July 28. 'I'm in my German Shepherd dog mom era. Is that how they say it? You know what I mean.' Kate shares eight children — 24-year-old twins Mady and Cara, as well as 21-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel — with ex-husband Jon Gosselin. The family skyrocketed into fame as the stars of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8, which was later named Kate Plus 8 after Kate filed for divorce from Jon in 2009. After Kate and Jon's divorce, their children Collin and Hannah chose to live with their father, while the rest remained with their mother. In May, to celebrate her sextuplets' 21st birthday, Kate shared a photo clinking glasses with Alexis, Aaden, Leah and Joel, while Collin and Hannah were notably absent. On the same day, Jon shared a video celebrating Hannah's birthday over cocktails with his daughter and his girlfriend Stephanie Lebo. In an Aug. 7 TikTok post on his own account, which he recently started, Collin opened up about his estrangement from his family in the years since their family's show concluded. "Born to be a team, us against the world," shared Collin in the post, which was set to Adele's track 'Hometown Glory.' 'Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could've looked like.' 'Forced apart, pitted against each other,' added Collin in the caption, referencing his siblings. 'All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids? I will always love them more than anything. The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could've shared. I love you guys… ❤️' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. In a September 2024 interview with The Sun, Collin alleged that his mom confined him and 'isolated' him from his other seven siblings, adding that he was often the 'scapegoat' for his mother's problems. "My mother had a room built in our unfinished section of the storage basement," he alleged to the outlet. "She had a room put up with cameras in it, a tiny window in the corner and it was bolt-locked from the outside. It was like a containment room, literally, and it had a mattress on the floor and that's how I lived." Speaking to The Sun at the time, an attorney for Kate said he didn't believe that Kate had done anything to "intentionally harm" her son and that "she did what she did to protect herself and her family" from what he called "troubled behavior." In 2020, Collin also accused Jon of abuse, alleging that his father punched and kicked him. Jon was never charged with abuse, and in a statement to Entertainment Tonight, he denied the allegations. Jon and Kate Gosselin's son claims siblings were 'pitted against each other' during reality TV show fallout
Collin Gosselin claimed he and his siblings were "pitted against each other" during the filming of the hit show "Jon & Kate Plus 8." Collin, the son of reality TV stars Jon and Kate Gosselin, shared an emotional post on TikTok about what the spotlight did to his family. The lives of Jon, Kate and Collin along with Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Leah, Joel, Mady and Cara were featured in the TLC reality show from 2007 until 2017. "Born to be a team, us against the world," he captioned a photo of himself with his seven siblings. "Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could've looked like." "Forced apart, pitted against each other," he continued. "All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids?" "I will always love them more than anything," Collin added. "The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could've shared. I love you guys." Fox News Digital reached out to Jon and Kate for comment. Jon and his wife Kate Gosselin shot to fame after giving birth to sextuplets after having twins using intrauterine insemination. The couple signed on to do two documentaries about their large family in order to make ends meet, but their popularity turned the family into reality TV royalty. However, the couple eventually separated, then divorced, and it was all caught on camera. Following his parents' split, Collin began to act out and rebel during filming, sometimes giving "completely silent interviews" and refusing to interact. Collin was allegedly diagnosed with a behavioral disorder and sent away to a separate school at the age of 12. Kate sent Collin to live at the Fairmount Behavioral Health System – a psychiatric hospital located in Philadelphia – without telling anyone in the family. "I was not able, with my own resources here, to meet his needs," Kate said during an episode of "Kate Plus 8." However, Collin later claimed that Kate sent him away because he was telling people about the way his mother was treating him at home, which he labeled "abusive." He claimed that she had to put him "somewhere where [he] wouldn't be able to put the secrets out" during an episode of Vice's "Dark Side of the 2000s." In a 2016 interview with "Good Morning America," Kate denied the abuse allegations, saying they were "absolutely" unfounded. Collin told Vice he hadn't spoken to at least six of his siblings since 2016. Jon also doesn't have a relationship with the children outside of Collin and Hannah. "At the end of the day, none of us decided to be on TV," Collin explained. "We didn't get the choice. It was our parents' decision," Hannah added. "I don't resent my parents for putting us on TV because I understand why they did it. It was a good opportunity, and it just turned into something nobody saw it turning into."

Kate Gosselin's daughter Hannah, 21, speaks out on heartbreak of being filmed her whole life for reality TV
She was just a baby when cameras started following her and her family around for Jon & Kate Plus 8. Now Hannah Gosselin is opening up about the toll of being filmed nonstop in a new interview with Teen Vogue. The now 21-year-old was a mere 15-months-old when her parents and seven other siblings found fame on the hit TLC show, which aired from 2007 to 2017. But fame isn't all that is cracked up to be, as Hannah has doubted the intentions of those wanting to be her friends and cameras captured her awkward teenage years, pimples and all. 'You're always surrounded,' she told the publication. 'The film crew was there 24/7.' The film crew even moved into an apartment located above the family's garage. The experience bonded the siblings, who even learned they could avoid having everything make it to air by adding brand names into conversation (which the film crew eventually told them to knock off). The show has even been a helpful way for her to remember her childhood, as Hannah is able to watch clips of her siblings should she miss them. However, it was difficult seeing her parents, who ultimately divorced just before the show officially ended, fighting on TV. '[Filming] made my siblings and I closer to each other, even though it made my parents further from each other,' she explained. 'It's hard to go back and watch my parents argue,' she added. Nowadays, Hannah is now a young woman who loves sharing glimpses into her life on social media, including snaps with friends and her various travels. She posted a lovely snap of her on a rooftop captioned 'happy era' last year, and she even has a boyfriend. But her family remains fractured. Kate, 50, and Jon's twins Mady and Cara, 24, and their four 21-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Joel and Leah, have been estranged from their father for over 10 years. Hannah and her brother Collin, 21, have lived with Jon since 2018 and are both now attending college. Hannah is at the University of Miami while Collin is studying at Penn State University. 'Mady and Cara live in Manhattan. They have their own careers, their own life. The other four... they go to four different colleges in North Carolina, so I guess they got in state tuition or whatever, because that's where they live now,' Jon told earlier this year. He went on to say his daughter Hannah 'talks to them,' and that he's 'praying that they come around or talk to me.' He explained, 'I'm not gonna pressure them, but they already know how I feel because Hannah told them. 'I don't have their phone numbers. I don't have any of that stuff. I used to reach out to Cara on LinkedIn. I go to New York a lot, but I never heard a response. 'But it's interesting, like, the cell phone numbers that I do have, they must still be active because [text messages are] blue and I'm not green.' As far as reaching out to his ex, Kate, he told that he's 'not' in contact with her, especially spending 14 years embroiled in a nasty custody battle. 'I don't plan on it either. Too much animosity,' he insisted. The mom-of-eight was previously seeking $132,000 in alleged back child support and then lost the battle in November 2023 when a Pennsylvania judge ruled in Jon's favor. The DJ is now engaged to Stephanie Lebo, and the couple are set to tie the knot on November 23, 2025.

What former reality star Kate Gosselin and kids look like now
A former reality TV star has shared a rare insight into her life these days after rising to fame in the mid 2000s. Kate Gosselin found fame with her now ex-husband Jon and their eight children on the American reality television series Jon & Kate Plus 8 – a set of twin girls and sextuplets, three girls and three boys. The show ran from 2007 to 2017 and was later renamed Kate Plus 8 after the couple divorced in 2009. In a rare social media post, Gosselin, now 50, took to Instagram to share snaps of herself, Alexis, Leah, Joel and Aaden having a drink at a restaurant. The five family members were all clinking their glasses together in celebration of the sextuplets turning 21 years old. She also shared a snap of a chocolate cake covered with lollies to mark the occasion. Collin and Hannah were noticeably absent from the happy gathering. 'And just like that, they turned 21! Happy Birthday to my six,' the former TV personality captured the images. Many took to the comment section. 'Happy Birthday! Looks like we are missing 2 of the 6. Hope they had a great day,' one said. Another commented: '21?!?! Wowwww I feel OLD.' Someone else added: 'Gosh time flies, I remember watching the show. Im sorry things didn't work out so you all can be together. Maybe some day. I wish you all well. They are so handsome and beautiful!' 'KATE! You're glowing! Happiness suits you wellï¸. 21, wow! Can't believe it. I remember like it was yesterday and they were tiny kiddos! Watch out world,' one said. Another posted: 'And just like that you have beautiful successful grown kids!' Some were quick to point out that only four of the sextuplets appeared to be in the images. 'You mean 4,' one social media user said. Another added: 'You discarded two of them. Shame on you. And where are the older two?' 'Wow I guess the other 2 aren't yours anymore? SMH,' commented another. One asked: 'Why are there only four with you?' When Kate and Jon split, she was awarded sole custody of her eight children. But, in 2018, two of her sextuplets — Hannah and Collin — chose to live with their father. Collin has spoken out about his relationship with his mother, saying he felt 'isolated' from his other siblings. He also suggested elements of abuse. Kate took to Instagram following the allegations, saying Collin had received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years. 'Collin's distorted perception of reality is one of the many issues that he has always struggled with,' she said at the time. Twins Mady and Cara, now 24, both left home to study in New York City, according to US Weekly. Their father claimed in a 2023 interview that he hadn't heard from his eldest daughters 'in over a decade' and hadn't spoken to Joel, Aaden, Leah and Alexis for five years. 'At this point, they're adults now. So, I mean, I don't even know their phone numbers or stuff,' he told Entertainment Tonight at the time. 'I've kind of just stuck with the kids that live here.'
