Jon and Kate Gosselin's son claims siblings were 'pitted against each other' during reality TV show fallout

Fox News2 days ago
Collin Gosselin claimed he and his siblings were "pitted against each other" during the filming of the hit show "Jon & Kate Plus 8."
Collin, the son of reality TV stars Jon and Kate Gosselin, shared an emotional post on TikTok about what the spotlight did to his family. The lives of Jon, Kate and Collin along with Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Leah, Joel, Mady and Cara were featured in the TLC reality show from 2007 until 2017. "Born to be a team, us against the world," he captioned a photo of himself with his seven siblings.
"Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could've looked like."
"Forced apart, pitted against each other," he continued. "All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids?"
"I will always love them more than anything," Collin added. "The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could've shared. I love you guys."
Fox News Digital reached out to Jon and Kate for comment.
Jon and his wife Kate Gosselin shot to fame after giving birth to sextuplets after having twins using intrauterine insemination. The couple signed on to do two documentaries about their large family in order to make ends meet, but their popularity turned the family into reality TV royalty. However, the couple eventually separated, then divorced, and it was all caught on camera.
Following his parents' split, Collin began to act out and rebel during filming, sometimes giving "completely silent interviews" and refusing to interact.
Collin was allegedly diagnosed with a behavioral disorder and sent away to a separate school at the age of 12. Kate sent Collin to live at the Fairmount Behavioral Health System – a psychiatric hospital located in Philadelphia – without telling anyone in the family.
"I was not able, with my own resources here, to meet his needs," Kate said during an episode of "Kate Plus 8."
However, Collin later claimed that Kate sent him away because he was telling people about the way his mother was treating him at home, which he labeled "abusive." He claimed that she had to put him "somewhere where [he] wouldn't be able to put the secrets out" during an episode of Vice's "Dark Side of the 2000s."
In a 2016 interview with "Good Morning America," Kate denied the abuse allegations, saying they were "absolutely" unfounded.
Collin told Vice he hadn't spoken to at least six of his siblings since 2016. Jon also doesn't have a relationship with the children outside of Collin and Hannah.
"At the end of the day, none of us decided to be on TV," Collin explained.
"We didn't get the choice. It was our parents' decision," Hannah added. "I don't resent my parents for putting us on TV because I understand why they did it. It was a good opportunity, and it just turned into something nobody saw it turning into."

The Minnesota Vikings just hired two male cheerleaders and MAGA is melting down

If they're not crashing out over the latest celeb they think is trans or the fact that their votes actually have consequences, MAGA is spiraling over their favorite sport being infiltrated by… wait for it…male cheerleaders. The Minnesota Vikings have announced that two male cheerleaders will be joining their ranks, and when videos of the cheerleaders performing hit social media, conservatives got angry. Dancers Blaize Shiek and Louie Conn are making their debut at Saturday's game and preseason home opener, which has fans threatening to cancel their season passes and InfoWars host Owen Shroyer making derogatory comments, complete with a misspelled word. 'Imagine you buy front row season football tickets and when you sit down there's some man girating [sic] right in front of you,' he wrote on X. @gator_gum had the perfect response, pointing out the hypocrisy of loving such a homoerotic sport but being applied by male cheerleaders, writing, 'Yes, he's blocking your view of the husky man in tights putting his hands between the legs of the other man in tights. Do you know they shower together after the games too? But that dancing guy! Draw the line!' Other right-wing social media users took to X to voice their displeasure at having men join an NFL cheerleading team, with one person posting, 'The Minnesota Vikings HIRED a MALE as their LEAD CHEERLEADER for the 2025-26 NFL football season. This is just disgusting…' Another person reposted the video announcement and wrote, 'I just threw up in my mouth." But former NFL star Antonio Brown took things a step further by reposting a video of Shiek in his new Vikings cheerleader uniform with the caption that used a homophobic slur. MAGA might be up in arms about these particular male cheerleaders, but they are far from the first. In fact, according to Outsports, last season there were 'seven teams had a total of 18 men on their cheer squads,' a trend that was started in 2018 by the Los Angeles Rams. And in 2023, two out gay men became the cheer captains for the Rams' cheerleading squad. Another social media user pointed out that while the sport is dominated by women today, the first cheerleaders were men, a fact backed up USA Cheer, which makes the whole rage debate even more ridiculous. Instead of being focused on the sport they supposedly care so much about, they are worried about who is cheering on the sidelines, in the ultimate 'No homo!' Taylor Swift countdown: Fans theorize about locks on her website

The Taylor Swift mania has not slowed down remotely since the teaser dropped Monday morning that the singer would be appearing on the New Heights podcast on Wednesday evening. Monday's mysteries and festivities ended with the reveal that the 14-time Grammy winner was announcing her 12th studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl, on the podcast hosted by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason. But in true Swift fashion, the clues and hints haven't stopped. While the release date, track list and album cover for the new era could all be dropped on the upcoming podcast, is that all the new news Swifties could expect? A second countdown — the first being the one that announced the title of the album on Monday — hit Swift's website at 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, culminating at the 7 p.m. ET podcast time. But fans noticed one orange lock (which had been associated with the new album) with a suspicious-looking keyhole. It was quickly deduced that the keyhole was shaped like her iconic Eras Tour stage, and at the top of every hour, a new lock appeared. It's not the first Swiftie rodeo, and they immediately tied the colors of the locks to the four different colored T.S. logos that were in the background of the album announcement video. So what happens when we reach the orange door — which was also an Eras Tour icon — and the countdown ends? Some fans have hypothesized that it could mean an announcement of her Eras Tour documentary. But knowing Swift, anything is possible. We'll just have to wait and see. This article originally appeared on For The Win: Taylor Swift countdown: Fans theorize about locks on her website

Kid Cudi shares why he's 'at peace' with testifying at the Diddy trial despite hating 'every minute of it'

Combs was convicted on 2 counts of prostitution-related offenses in July and is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 3. Rapper Kid Cudi opened up on Wednesday's Call Her Daddy podcast about his experience testifying at Sean 'Diddy' Combs's trial in May. Cudi, whose legal name is Scott Mescudi, told host Alex Cooper that he 'hated every minute' of testifying. 'I was just there because I had to be,' Cudi, 41, said, explaining that he had twice declined federal prosecutors' requests for him to testify, only agreeing to appear after he was subpoenaed. Looking back on the trial, though, Cudi told Cooper he realized it was important that he was there to support his ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura. 'I thought about, when I was up there, I'm here to support Cassie,' he said. Cudi and Ventura, 38, started dating in late 2011. Cudi testified in court that, after finding out about the relationship, Combs, 55, allegedly broke into Cudi's home. Cudi also testified about a time when a Molotov cocktail was thrown into his Porsche in early 2012, when he was still with Ventura. Combs and Ventura had dated on and off for 11 years, between 2007 and 2018, and Ventura accused Combs of rape and abuse in a lawsuit she filed in November 2023. Even though Cudi and Ventura broke up in 2012, Cudi told Cooper that Ventura 'is my friend.' 'I've always just wanted to see her thrive and do well and be happy because I know she was living a nightmare,' he said. 'I was just there to support her. That's what kind of gave me peace with it when I sat down in that chair.' Combs was convicted on July 3 on two counts of prostitution-related offenses after a seven-week trial. He now faces up to 20 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 3. Solve the daily Crossword
