Bon Jovi's Unlikely Single Turns Out To Be One Of The Band's Biggest Hits
Bon Jovi and Pitbull's 'Now or Never' logs its sixteenth week on Billboard's Pop Airplay chart, ... More ranking as the band's fourth-longest radio hit on the top 40 tally. (Photo by Koh Hasebe/) Bon Jovi scored the most unlikely of hits earlier this year by teaming up with multi-genre musician Pitbull. The latter star has landed a number of hits throughout the past few years by repurposing melodies and interpolating hooks from older, familiar smashes by other artists, reworking them into something exciting and new for a different audience. He took parts of "It's My Life" by the rock band and turned it into his 2025 smash "Now or Never," an electronically charged dance-pop cut. The tune sounds little like anything Bon Jovi has produced before, and yet it has become one of the group's biggest hits. "Now or Never" is present on the Pop Airplay chart, Billboard's ranking of the most successful tunes at top 40 radio in the United States. This frame, it dips 10 spaces to No. 33, so it is approaching the bottom of the 40-spot roster — but it's not done being played at pop radio just yet. Last week, the single reached its all-time peak, and the length of time it has spent on the list shows just how popular the tune has become. As of this frame, "Now or Never" has spent 16 weeks on the Pop Airplay tally. It ranks as Bon Jovi's fourth-longest-charting track on the radio list, out of a total of a lucky 13 placements dating back decades. "Always" stands out as Bon Jovi's biggest win on the Pop Airplay ranking, both in terms of length of time spent on the roster and peak position. That track, which arrived in 1994, rose all the way to the runner-up space and spent exactly half a year on the ranking. "It's My Life" — which, of course, introduced the chorus that would later center "Now or Never" — missed that longevity record by one week. "Bed of Roses" is just two frames ahead of "Now or Never," with 18 weeks spent on the Pop Airplay chart. "Now or Never" could match that sum if its decline slows, but if it suffers another tumble like it did this time around, it will disappear very soon.

That same year, Bon Jovi doubled down on his claims of being with women outside of his marriage. 'I got away with murder,' the Grammy winner told Michael Strahan during their interview special, 'Halfway There,' on ABC. 'I'm a rock 'n' roll star, I'm not a saint. You know, I'm not saying that there weren't 100 girls in my life — I'm Jon Bon Jovi. 80s rock icon celebrates 36th wedding anniversary after cheating confession
Jon Bon Jovi has celebrated his 36th wedding anniversary with his wife Dorothea Bongiovi after he made a blunt cheating confession last year. The Livin' On A Prayer hitmaker, 63, posted their celebrations on social media in the form of 36 roses for 36 'amazing years'. He also shared a throwback photo of the pair looking young and in love alongside a picture of their wedding venue, Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, where they tied the knot in 1989. Jon and Dorothea met in high school and married nine years later. While they briefly broke up in 1985, in which time the rocker dated actor Diane Lane, they quickly found each other again. While their relationship is long-lasting, the It's My Life hitmaker admitted in an interview last year that he 'got away with murder' in his younger years when he was 'no saint'. The musician made the frank comments while speaking on the ABC special, Michael Strahan x Jon Bon Jovi: Halfway There. Reflecting on Jon's stratospheric success, host Michael, 52, remarked: 'It had to be tough on a relationship. You're young…' 'That's nonsense,' Jon interjected. 'I got away with murder.' He continued: 'I'm a rock and roll star. I'm not a saint. I'm not saying that there weren't 100 girls in my life. I'm Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty good. 'But if you think I'm ever going to jeopardise anything for believing the narcissist in me was real? What a stupid thing to do. 'What kind of excess does a man need that's going to fuel that fire? It's just not worth it.' In April 2020, Bon Jovi told People their secret to a long-lasting partnership was 'mutual respect'. 'Having grown up together and grown together. And we really like each other. We want to hang out,' he said. In 2010 he reflected on the moment they decided to marry in an interview with Men's Health. 'We had the No. 1 album, the No. 1 single, and we were playing three nights at the Forum in L.A.,' he told the publication. 'I turned to Dorothea and said, 'I got an idea. Why don't we go right now?' She said, 'You're out of your mind.' I said, 'Come on. What's better than this, right now, this moment?' And so we ran off to Las Vegas. Didn't tell a soul.' The pair went on to welcome four children together – Stephanie, 31, Jesse, 30, Romeo, 21, and Millie Bobby Brown's new husband Jake, 22. Elaborating, he continued: 'It's about never lying about having been a saint, but not being a fool enough to [mess up] the home life, either.' In November, Jon was asked to elaborate on his previous comments in a podcast episode of Just for Variety with Variety journalist Marc Malkin. 'You're honest about being a rockstar, that you've got a lot of women in your life. Girls, as you call them,' said Marc, asking: 'Were your family surprised at how honest you were? Did your wife know you were going to be that honest?' After a pause, Jon answered: 'It was based on an old article many years ago, it would be a lie if you said you were a saint. It was the 80s for god's sake. I'm still that guy. Did a girl ever throw herself at me? F**k yes, I'm Jon Bon Jovi. 'But did I ever, ever, ever consider anything that would jeopardise my relationship with my wife who I've always been madly in love with? F**k no. But she would tell, me, 'Of course you were a moron.'' He continued: 'Yesterday was our 35th wedding anniversary. We're madly in love more every day, I'm ecstatic being in love with her. 'So we've been together 44 years. I wouldn't jeopardise a lick of that. I'm the luckiest guy in the universe.' More Trending Mark pressed: 'The stories that are getting picked up are making it sound like you cheated on her left and right?' 'Even if I did I was 20, I was 30, this wasn't yesterday,' Jon replied, adding: 'It was a decade or so in my youth.' When asked what he got Dorothea for their 35th anniversary, Jon revealed with a chuckle he'd got her flowers and a book it turned out 'she's already read'. The rocker added: 'We don't have to outdo things with presents and stuff because every day there's such deep gratitude. Watching TV together, sitting on the couch and making a cup of tea, she knows how grateful I am.' Got a story? Is Jon Bon Jovi dead? Confusion spreads after artist's death
Jon Bon Jovi is very much alive, despite a wave of confusion online sparked by the death of a notable artist linked to the band. Fans were left stunned earlier this week when rumors swirled on social media falsely claiming the rock legend had died. The speculation began after the confirmed passing of Ioannis Vasilopoulos, a renowned Greek-American artist and designer who created iconic album cover art for Bon Jovi and other legendary rock bands. Vasilopoulos died on April 7, 2025, at the age of 66. According to his obituary, Ioannis was deeply influenced by American comic books, fantasy art, and rock music. His admiration for album cover artists like Roger Dean and Storm Thorgerson helped shape his career in the music industry. Beyond Bon Jovi, he collaborated with Deep Purple, the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Michael Bolton, among others. The mix-up occurred when reports about Vasilopoulos' passing were misinterpreted, leading some to believe Jon Bon Jovi had died. The rumors quickly gained traction across social media platforms, prompting confusion and concern from fans. Bon Jovi are returning to the stage but you might need to sell a kidney to attend
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Bon Jovi, who haven't toured since 2022, are plotting a return to the stage. The band are performing at a three-day event scheduled for Nashville this June, but fans will need to dig deep: the cheapest single tickets, which don't include hotel accommodation, are priced at $1,750.00. According to the organisers, Runaway Tours, the package will include admission to an intimate private performance with Bon Jovi, a "Bon Jovi Forever Party" held at Jon Bon Jovi's JBJ's venue in Nashville, a signed photo of Jon Bon Jovi, a trip laminate and lanyard, and a "special gift". Runaway Tours have previously organised a number of exclusive Bon Jovi events, including a storytelling evening with Jon Bon Jovi in Las Vegas in 2014, and an event in the Bahamas the following year. The company has also organised packages in conjunction with Eagles legend Don Henley and Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas. Bon Jovi's onstage activities have been curtailed by their frontman's well-publicised voice problems, but he has made several live performances since Bon Jovi's last North American tour finished in April 2022. In February last year, Jon Bon Jovi made a brief appearance at the MusiCares Awards Person Of The Year ceremony in Los Angeles, where he sang two songs solo, before the band reconvened for the opening night of JBJ's in June. A second JBJ's show – with the house band – followed in September. Tickets for this year's event in Nashville go on sale on Monday, April 14 at 12pm EST.
