80s rock icon celebrates 36th wedding anniversary after cheating confession

Metro30-04-2025

Jon Bon Jovi has celebrated his 36th wedding anniversary with his wife Dorothea Bongiovi after he made a blunt cheating confession last year.
The Livin' On A Prayer hitmaker, 63, posted their celebrations on social media in the form of 36 roses for 36 'amazing years'.
He also shared a throwback photo of the pair looking young and in love alongside a picture of their wedding venue, Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, where they tied the knot in 1989.
Jon and Dorothea met in high school and married nine years later. While they briefly broke up in 1985, in which time the rocker dated actor Diane Lane, they quickly found each other again.
While their relationship is long-lasting, the It's My Life hitmaker admitted in an interview last year that he 'got away with murder' in his younger years when he was 'no saint'.
The musician made the frank comments while speaking on the ABC special, Michael Strahan x Jon Bon Jovi: Halfway There.
Reflecting on Jon's stratospheric success, host Michael, 52, remarked: 'It had to be tough on a relationship. You're young…'
'That's nonsense,' Jon interjected. 'I got away with murder.'
He continued: 'I'm a rock and roll star. I'm not a saint. I'm not saying that there weren't 100 girls in my life. I'm Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty good.
'But if you think I'm ever going to jeopardise anything for believing the narcissist in me was real? What a stupid thing to do.
'What kind of excess does a man need that's going to fuel that fire? It's just not worth it.'
In April 2020, Bon Jovi told People their secret to a long-lasting partnership was 'mutual respect'.
'Having grown up together and grown together. And we really like each other. We want to hang out,' he said.
In 2010 he reflected on the moment they decided to marry in an interview with Men's Health.
'We had the No. 1 album, the No. 1 single, and we were playing three nights at the Forum in L.A.,' he told the publication.
'I turned to Dorothea and said, 'I got an idea. Why don't we go right now?' She said, 'You're out of your mind.' I said, 'Come on. What's better than this, right now, this moment?' And so we ran off to Las Vegas. Didn't tell a soul.'
The pair went on to welcome four children together – Stephanie, 31, Jesse, 30, Romeo, 21, and Millie Bobby Brown's new husband Jake, 22.

Jon previously spoke to The Independent about the 'wonderful clichés of rock stardom'.
Elaborating, he continued: 'It's about never lying about having been a saint, but not being a fool enough to [mess up] the home life, either.'
In November, Jon was asked to elaborate on his previous comments in a podcast episode of Just for Variety with Variety journalist Marc Malkin.
'You're honest about being a rockstar, that you've got a lot of women in your life. Girls, as you call them,' said Marc, asking: 'Were your family surprised at how honest you were? Did your wife know you were going to be that honest?'
After a pause, Jon answered: 'It was based on an old article many years ago, it would be a lie if you said you were a saint. It was the 80s for god's sake. I'm still that guy. Did a girl ever throw herself at me? F**k yes, I'm Jon Bon Jovi.
'But did I ever, ever, ever consider anything that would jeopardise my relationship with my wife who I've always been madly in love with? F**k no. But she would tell, me, 'Of course you were a moron.''
He continued: 'Yesterday was our 35th wedding anniversary. We're madly in love more every day, I'm ecstatic being in love with her.
'So we've been together 44 years. I wouldn't jeopardise a lick of that. I'm the luckiest guy in the universe.' More Trending
Mark pressed: 'The stories that are getting picked up are making it sound like you cheated on her left and right?'
'Even if I did I was 20, I was 30, this wasn't yesterday,' Jon replied, adding: 'It was a decade or so in my youth.'
When asked what he got Dorothea for their 35th anniversary, Jon revealed with a chuckle he'd got her flowers and a book it turned out 'she's already read'.
The rocker added: 'We don't have to outdo things with presents and stuff because every day there's such deep gratitude. Watching TV together, sitting on the couch and making a cup of tea, she knows how grateful I am.'

Romeo Beckham and Kim Turnbull 'split' after she's drawn into family feud

Romeo Beckham has split from his girlfriend Kim Turnbull weeks after she joined him for David Beckham's 50th celebrations, it is reported. It is thought the pair have split after seven months together, amid reports of a family feud between the Beckham family and eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, 26. Friends said things 'fizzled out' between Romeo, 22, and Kim, 26, in what's been an 'amicable' split that has 'nothing to do' with Brooklyn's wife Nicola Peltz blaming her for the Beckham rift. A friend of the pair told the Mail: 'Romeo and Kim are both young and they had a lovely time together but at that age things don't always last forever and they decided to split up. 'They have been friendly since and have even been at the same venues. It's a huge shame, particularly as David and Victoria really adored her and thought she made Romeo happy but it wasn't to be. 'It happened a couple of weeks ago and relations have remained friendly between them.' 'David and Victoria would hate for the view to be that they split because of Nicola and Brooklyn because that simply isn't the case. 'The fact is that Kim has got a really busy career as a DJ and Romeo has a busy work life too, there is lots of travelling for both of them and having a relationship at this time isn't all that conducive to their lives.' Over the past few months, it's been whispered that the Beckham feud was between Brooklyn and Romeo. It was rumoured Brooklyn dated Kim before his younger brother in 2016, causing a rift between the pair. However, Cruz Beckham, 20, weighed in on the rumours in a now-deleted social media comment, in which he clarified: 'Brooklyn and Kim never dated.' TMZ reported that Brooklyn and Romeo have fallen out since Kim came onto the scene, as Brooklyn and Kim dated as teenagers in 2016 The outlet claimed that Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham question if Kim has the right intentions when it comes to dating Romeo. They also added that sources informed them that Brooklyn and his wife will no longer attend family events where Kim will be present. Since reports of the feud came to light, they haven't exactly been shut down by the Beckhams, with Brooklyn making various cryptic comments. A source previously told Metro that Brooklyn is keen to patch things up with his father and was sad not to attend his big 50th bash. 'Brooklyn feels disappointed in himself for not attending David's 50th birthday party,' they said. 'He wants things to go back to how they were, but it feels as if the divide has separated the family deeply.' And an insider explained that Victoria was desperately hoping her son will 'come around'. 'She's hoping Brooklyn will come around and see things for what they are,' they said. 'They've always been a close-knit family and seeing how things are now has been devastating for Victoria and David.' Brooklyn appears to have shot a series of public digs at his family over the past few months. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video He shared a video of himself and Nicola on Instagram with a caption vowing to always 'choose [her]'. He wrote: 'My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.' In response, Cruz posted a message dedicated to his mum, dad, and siblings on his own Instagram story. 'Victoria is upset that things have escalated to this point. Brooklyn has made his position clear in his recent post and that has left both herself and David heartbroken,' the insider told Metro. 'They will always be there for Brooklyn, and as Victoria said in a recent interview, she's a brilliant mum to her children – they all mean the world to her. 'But things at the moment feel divided and Brooklyn's remarks haven't helped the situation. They are desperate for things to improve.' More Trending A source close to Brooklyn told Metro: 'It's sad that a simple statement of love and appreciation for his wife is being manipulated into something that it isn't.' In a recent interview, Brooklyn also appeared to backtrack on the origin of his hot sauce range name, Cloud23. On the official website for the sauce, according to The Mirror a member of Brooklyn's team replied to a question about the name, writing: 'The 23 included in our brand is a warm nod to Brooklyn's father, David Beckham, who wore number 23 while playing for Real Madrid and LA Galaxy.' However, in a chat to Glamour Brooklyn gave a different story, explaining: 'The 23 stands for our engagement date and my age back then.' Got a story? Box-office bomb set to hit streamers after major controversy and scandal

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video After behind-the-scenes clashes, public criticism, and tanking at the box office, the live-action Snow White is finally limping onto Disney Plus. It was meant to be the jewel in Disney's remake crown and modernise the beloved classic – but Snow White has been a poisoned apple from the start. While critics largely praised leading lady Rachel Zegler as 'enchanting', the scandal that surrounded the release overtook any positives about the film itself. Problems seemed to be coming from all angles, with Disney reportedly rolling back the scale of their London premiere in response to the backlash. When it hit cinemas in March, the box office clawed back $205.5million – impressive until you consider the budget was around $270million. If you loved the film the first time around or are morbidly curious about it after all the drama, Snow White will reach its final resting place on Disney Plus on June 11, 2025. With just 40% on Rotten Tomatoes, the remake may have even stopped the controversial live-action remake push from Disney (not in time to pull Lilo and Stitch, though). After the mixed response, Tangled has 'been put on pause', according to insiders speaking to The Hollywood Reporter. Moana, set for release on July 10, 2026, is still thought to be in the works as one of Disney's biggest animated hits of recent years. Disney was facing pushback from fans as its slate appeared to be overwhelmingly focused on these remakes, with some even boycotting. However, Snow White was hit was even more controversy than the others – until maybe the bizarre choices made for the recently released Lilo and Stitch. First came the complaints that Rachel, 24, was a 'woke' casting choice given her Colombian heritage, echoing similar (distasteful) sentiments voiced over Halle Bailey's Ariel. The West Side Story star may have proved those naysayers wrong but this was just the start of the problems. Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage then branded the studio 'backwards' for still making a 'story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together'. Peter, 55, has a common form of dwarfism known as achondroplasia and asked Disney to 'take a step back and look at what you're doing'. As well as dropping half the film's original title, director Marc Webb opted to portray the characters using CGI – which was pulled apart when the Seven Dwarfs were first unveiled in the movie's teaser trailer – after erroneous reports that Disney would be using diverse 'magical creatures' instead. Pro-wrestler Hornswoggle, 39, as well as other actors, said ultimately the decision was detrimental to their careers as the roles would have traditionally gone to seven actors with the condition. Then came the girl boss-ification of Snow White herself – a common move in all the live-action remakes but garnered extra heat for Rachel. Snow White was 'not going to be dreaming about true love' anymore and rather 'becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true'. Fans slammed Disney (and its leading lady) for the outdated feminism, which many felt turned its back on the core of who Snow White is in the original 1937 film. More Trending Finally, there was the boycott over the casting of Gal Gadot, an Israeli actress who has publicly advocated for Israel over the years. She has stated that 'killing innocent Palestinians is horrific', but mostly her public posts are about Israeli hostages, while Rachel was criticised for her support of Palestine. After an incredibly messy road to get here, Snow White's release was quickly forgotten in the wake of other remake missteps. Snow White will be available to watch on Disney Plus from June 11. Emmerdale star confirms 'huge journey' for Charity as she reveals what's to come

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Charity Dingle has had a busy year so far in Emmerdale, but she shows no signs of slowing down, as actress Emma Atkins has teased. Already this year Charity has driven a limo full of her neighbours into a lake and been a suspect in a whodunnit, after learning that son Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) had been spiked by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). It was the spiking that led Noah to be wandering in the middle of the road, causing Charity to swerve and the limo she was driving to go plummeting into the icy lake. 'I was so proud to be part of it,' Emma enthused when I chatted to her at the British Soap Awards. 'I read the script and I was like, 'This is phenomenal.' 'When I watched it play out as well, because I wasn't in a lot of the scenes, so I was able to be a bystander and an audience member and fully soak it up. 'I was really moved, genuinely moved to tears with a lot of the performances, so I feel really proud to be part of that.' The drama is set to continue to ramp up for Charity as the year continues, with Emma promising 'a huge journey' ahead. 'It's going to be huge towards the middle and end of the year, with her connections with Sarah [Sugden], basically,' Emma teased. 'I think she's being the maternal figure in her life that she's lacking at the moment because Debbie's gone away. She's playing that motherly role where she's concerned about Sarah's health. 'Sarah, at the moment, isn't letting her in, but there's that crossroads where she's like, 'Do I tell Charity the truth?' 'Then we go on a huge journey later on, which I can't reveal yet. I'm working a lot with Katie [Hill] and she's a phenomenal little actress, she's just brilliant. I love her.' In the past few weeks, Sarah has sought guidance from Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) – Charity's ex-girlfriend. More Trending Of course, fans everywhere are constantly wondering if Charity and Vanessa will ever reunite, and Emma thinks that this could 'possibly' draw them closer together. 'I think with Vanessa being so set on her principles and morally upstanding, I think she'll be telling Sarah that the right thing to do is trust in Charity and let her know what's going on.
